Studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hannover
(Hanover School of Music and Theater) from 1982 to 1986.
First woman to play the character of "Death" in the "Jedermann" play at
the Salzburg Theater Festival (2005).
Supports several organizations such as "Aktionsbündnis Landminen"
(fighting against land mines) and the "DS-Infocenter" (supporting
people with down syndrome).
Won a bronze medal at the 2004 Eurogames, a LGBT sporting event, in the
50m butterfly race in Munich.
Being openly lesbian, she is an active Lesbian and Gay Rights Movement
activist.
Right after she finished at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hannover she got her first acting job as a member of the Staatstheater Oldenburg in 1987 - the same years she landed her first role on television.
Was awarded the "Verdienstorden am Bande" of the Federal Republic of Germany in 2007.
Member of #ActOut in Spring 2021 and one of 185 Actors who identify as lesbian, gay, bi, trans*, queer, inter and non-binary, among many other things.
