Netflix is developing a modernized series based on “The Haunting of Hill House,” Variety reports. Writer-director Mike Flanagan will be ushering in the ghost story for a new generation through 10 episodes.

First, we have the Ves, whose main category to look at is “Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects-Driven Feature Motion Picture,” where we find Gravity and four other nominees that are just going to have to be happy with the fact that they got nominated. According to Variety Fox is getting a jump on pilot orders, greenlighting graphic novel adaptation "Locke and Key" from DreamWorks TV and exec producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci.
Twentieth Century Fox TV is producing along with DreamWorks TV and Kurtzman and Orci's K.O. Paper Products banner. DreamWorks' Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank are exec producing, along with K.O.'s Kurtzman, Orci and Heather Kadin; Josh Friedman; and Idw Publishing's Ted Adams.

Fox TV ordered a pilot for a planned series based on Joe Hill’s popular Idw comic “Locke & Key.” Based on the story of brothers Tyler, Kinsey and Bode Locke who uncover magical doors and a secret monster at their New England family estate called Keyhouse, the series pitch landed at Fox in late August. Writer and “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” creator Josh Friedman signed on to write the scripts and serve as the showrunner. Producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci of K.O. TNT has lined up the cast for its drama pilot The Line. Dean Winters has been tapped as the lead in the DreamWorks TV/Pictures TV project with Evan Handler, Christina Cox, Paul Ben-Victor and Victoria Cartagena rounding out the cast. Set in Miami, Line centers on federal prosecutor Sean Foley (Winters), who is equally daring in both his professional and personal pursuits. Mark Rosner, who penned the pilot, is executive producing with DreamWorks TV's co-heads Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey. Winters, whose series credits include NBC's Law & Order: SVU and HBO's Oz, most recently had a recurring role on FX's Rescue Me, also from DreamWorks TV and Sony Pictures TV. He and newcomer Cartagena are repped by the Gersh Agency. Handler, best known for his role on HBO's Sex and the City, is repped by SMS Talent.
