Call Me Kat is adding another big name to its guest-starring roster this week.
Thursday's new episode promises to be another comical episode, and we have an exclusive first look.
Margaret Cho appears as Val, a local cat lover preparing to compete in the Pretty Kitty Cat show.
Her first meeting with Kat is anything but sweet when Val strongly implies that Kat has no chance in the competition with her cat.
"To take her mind off their breakup and Max and Zoey's (guest star Margie Mays) new successful song, Kat attends a cat show with Sheila and Randi," Fox teases of the storyline.
"Kat's competitive side is brought to life, when local cat lover Val (guest star Margaret Cho) thinks Kat and her rescue cat have no chance of bringing home a trophy."
It's a comical scene showcasing Val's tenacity to win, but Kat is not fond of being counted out.

CBS has canceled comedy series “B Positive” after two seasons.
Executive produced by Chuck Lorre, “B Positive” starred Annaleigh Ashford as Gina, a hard-partying woman with a checkered past who, on a whim, decided to offer up her kidney to a former high school acquaintance, Drew (Thomas Middleditch), a recently-divorced therapist and single dad undergoing kidney failure.
During the process, Gina discovers that the happiness she’d been seeking all along could be found in the form of giving, so upon inheriting a surprise windfall of money from a patient at Valley Hills, the assisted living facility where she works, she decides it’s time to make a big change in a positive direction.

B Positive will be on the CBS schedule for a bit longer.
The freshman comedy has nabbed a full season order at CBS, becoming one of few shows to pull off such a move in that pandemic-affected season.
While the show has been expanded, no details on how many episodes have actually been ordered.
ABC's Big Sky recently got a six-episode back-order, keeping it around for 16 episodes.
However, that show is heavily serialized, meaning that fewer episodes were probably a part of a commitment between the creatives and the network.
B Positive Season 1 is averaging 5 million viewers and a 0.56 rating in the all-important 18-49 demo.
The series, which hails from Chuck Lorre, is holding up well in its Thursday slot and pulling in decent enough ratings to stick around.
B Positive was the only completed broadcast pilot ahead of this season due to the Covid-19 shutdowns that plagued the industry.

Ellen DeGeneres is tearfully going down memory lane.
In a clip from Friday’s special episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show celebrating the 20th anniversary of her sitcom’s iconic coming-out episode, the daytime talk show host, 59, says, “I’m Ellen and I’m gay” to open her show.
“Twenty years ago I said that — it was a much bigger deal then,” she continues.
On April 30, 1997, DeGeneres herself didn’t just publicly come out as gay — her character on the ABC hit sitcom Ellen did too. The episode titled “The Puppy Episode” was taped in front of a live audience.

“I guess what I'm trying to say is...I did get the joke about the toaster oven.”
It’s been 20 years since Ellen Morgan, the former TV alter ego of Ellen DeGeneres, said that famous line in “The Puppy Episode,” when it first aired on April 30, 1997. In the hall of fame, alongside the Mash series finale and this year’s Oscars broadcast, sits an episode of Ellen we now remember as a groundbreaking risk with a lasting impact on TV diversity.

Fans don't have to worry about Mike & Molly being cancelled this time around because it's already been announced that there won't be a seventh season. Will the ratings for the final 13 episodes be high enough for the CBS execs to regret their decision to cancel the show or, will the numbers confirm they made the right choice? Stay tuned.
Mike & Molly revolves around Molly (Melissa McCarthy) and Mike (Billy Gardell), a couple that met at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting, fell in love, and later married. The rest of the cast includes Reno Wilson, Katy Mixon, Nyambi Nyambi, Rondi Reed, Cleo King, Louis Mustillo, David Anthony Higgins, and Swoosie Kurtz.
The higher a show's ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better its chances for survival. New ratings data will be added as it becomes available -- typically around 11:30am Est/8:30am Pst. Refresh to...

Last season, the ratings for Mike & Molly dropped once again but the sitcom was renewed anyway -- likely in part to give the series enough episodes for a syndication package. Will the numbers improve this time around? Cancelled or renewed for a sixth season on CBS?

Just as the refreshing supernatural horror thriller Deliver Us from Evil hits theaters today before the big holiday weekend, a trailer for a much more generic and seemingly boring film in the same genre has arrive. If The Damned wasn't generic enough of a title for you, the trailer does a much better job of delivering the same kind of story and scares we've seen time and time again. At first it seems like this might be different with the set-up coming from a mudslide accident that leaves a family (led by Peter Facinelli) stranded in Colombia, but then it heads into familiar territory with a creepy, dirty, wet girl scaring them, things moving by themselves, and all that cliche jazz. Plus, it's just edited poorly with long-winded text bumpers. Watch? Here's the first trailer for Victor Garcia's The Damned from IFC Films: The Damned is directed by...

This season, CBS decided to delay Mike & Molly until mid-season or until one of their new shows was cancelled (the latter didn't take long). How will the sitcom do this season? Could it be cancelled or is it almost guaranteed to be renewed because of syndication profits? Time will tell!

Mike & Molly has an old school, blue collar sitcom vibe, but while the situation may be well worn, the cast is pretty stellar, with the amazing Melissa McCarthy, Swoosie Kurtz and Katie Mixon as Molly's dimwitted sister Victoria being particular standouts.
Actor David Anthony Higgins plays Harry, a guy Mike & Molly met through Overeater's Anonymous. He's sweet, socially awkward and throughout Season 3 he's had an apparent crush on Victoria. Their relationship took a major turn on last night's episode "St. Patrick's Day". We've got a clip courtesy of CBS in case you missed it...

British chef Gordon Ramsay has settled a legal dispute with a New Zealand promotion company by agreeing to make an $83,000 (£52,000) donation to charity.
The Hell's Kitchen star was sued by bosses at Duco Events after he agreed to appear at a charity event in the country, but pulled out after his mother suffered a health scare.
Company bosses claimed to have lost money and suffered damage to their reputation after selling 2,000 tickets in the hope of raising funds to pay the medical bills of an ailing New Zealand child.
The case was due to go to trial in the summer, but both sides met in Auckland on Monday and a settlement was reached.
A joint statement from Ramsay and Duco director David Higgins reads, "The parties have reached a mutually agreeable financial settlement, including a donation of $100,000 to Matisse Reid and the trust Chance2Eat. Duco Events and Gordon Ramsay are committed to working together in 2013."...

Queen's honours list also includes CBEs for oscar-winner Colin Firth and singer Bryan Ferry, and OBEs for Ashes heroes
A collective sigh of relief will be heard across Britain, quickly followed by a suitably awful pun: "Knight to see you, to see you knight." At 83 the evergreen entertainer Bruce Forsyth has finally got his long-predicted knighthood.
The nod comes in the Queen's 2011 birthday honours list – one of 965 people whose diverse services to society, including David Cameron's "big society", are recognised on Saturday.
But after years of speculation, gossip and tabloid outrage against the tardiness of Whitehall and Buckingham Palace, Forsyth's gong is the eye-catcher. The entertainer, who is enjoying a renaissance as host of BBC1's Strictly Come Dancing, started his career at 14 and fronted countless game shows, perhaps most memorably The Generation Game. He admitted that he feared the day might never come but said the elation...

There are movie fans, and then there are movie fans — people so dedicated to their favorite franchise they elevate almost everyone associated with the project to celebrity status. George Lucas may have begun behind the camera, but to “Star Wars” fanatics, he’s Skywalker-level recognizable.
And in 2010, there’s no die-hard like a Twi-Hard.
“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” director David Slade has experienced the fervor firsthand, telling NextMovie exclusively: “At this point, I think I’m finally getting less recognizable and that suits me just fine. The days of being stopped on the street are actually getting less and less.”
Fortunately, Slade explains, his popularity came late in the game, keeping him free to serve the story first and the fans second. “When we started this, the fan culture … had nowhere near the groundswell that it has now. I think that was good for me because I went in with...

Claudia Schiffer is doing Pilates to help regain her pre-baby figure. The supermodel gave birth to her third child, Cosima, in May and in a bid to get her stunning body back, she has enlisted the help of personal trainer David Higgins and exercises every day.
"She's been training with me at my Ten Pilates studio in Notting Hill," David said. "After the baby she was coming three times a week, but now she comes here every day. It's really high-intensity Pilates and she loves it, as opposed to the gym, which she absolutely hates."
David says one of the main reasons Claudia - who has two other children, Caspar, seven, and Clementine, five, with husband Matthew Vaughn - is working so hard with her Pilates is because looking good is so important to her career.
He told Telegraph newspaper, "Obviously, a huge motivation for her is work: she knows...

Welcome to another edition of Movies That Deserve a Second Life. If you need a refresher on what I’m referring to by “second life,” check out the Action/Adventure Edition. If you’re caught up, read on to see what funny flics I felt were unfairly ignored/disliked upon its release or have been forgotten in the years since its release.
Comedy is almost certainly the most subjective of all genres. What makes one person laugh is guaranteed to make another yawn or wrinkle his/her brow. Some find juvenilia in poor taste while others bust a gut. Everyone claims to have a sense of humor, but almost no one enjoys every type of humor there is, from dry wit and pungent satire to bodily fluid gags and intentionally groan-worthy puns. Therefore, I think it’s safe to say that no one (besides myself) will be satisfied with every choice.

Seventeen episodes into its lifespan, and Newsradio has really hit its stride. Today's two episodes are top-shelf stuff, and they illustrate what it means for a television show to be great overall, not just a collection of its greatest moments. American series television is a marathon, not a sprint. When a show is hitting on all cylinders, it's like a runner in the zone -- the endorphins are flowing, everything seems to work effortlessly, and you feel like it could go on forever. By contrast, the most transcendent moments of a great television show feel like miracles that one could never expect nor hope to repeat. "Xmas Story" introduces David Anthony Higgins as a Santa collecting donations in the building lobby. (Since when are charity Santas allowed to set up shop inside, by the way? Isn't enduring the crippling cold protected...

- Hard Candy deals with issues that may make some viewers uncomfortable. The opening sequence keeps you shifting in your seats as you listen to the flirtation between a fourteen-year-old girl and an older man she met online. It is the conversation that you always feared could happen. They speak so openly to each other as if no one could hear, as if they aren’t doing anything wrong. Well are they? Hard Candy makes you think about a lot of things you might not want to. It makes you ask yourself what is wrong or right. It might seem so obvious now but can there be an exception? And you ask yourself that question as the victim and the predator switch roles. Hayley Stark, the fourteen-year-old girl, finds herself drinking vodka inside photographer Jeff Kohlver’s home. Becoming increasing intoxicated, she slowly takes off her clothes. She is getting

Brian De Palma brings his impressive bag of technical tricks to the craps table for "Snake Eyes", an otherwise unremarkable, decidedly ungripping suspense thriller set against the sleazy backdrop of Atlantic City gambling.
While the veteran filmmaker is in fine form, all the visual dazzle in the world can't gloss over the spoken drivel that pours from the picture's hackneyed script, even with actors as good as Nicolas Cage and Gary Sinise attempting to breathe some life into the tired cliches.
Given Cage's current hit streak, "Snake Eyes" should draw some initial business but likely will not emerge as a boxoffice high roller.
Things kick off promisingly enough with an extended set-up sequence orchestrated as a continuous Steadicam shot following wheeler-dealer Atlantic City detective-on-the-take Rick Santoro (Cage) making the rounds before a pay-per-view heavyweight boxing match.
Joining him is his old buddy, naval Cmdr. Kevin Dunne (Sinise), a seeming pillar of virtue who in his current job is responsible for the security of the Secretary of Defense (Joel Fabiani), who's attending the bout.
The inevitable shots ring out, the defense secretary is assassinated and the arena is sealed as 14,000 fans become possible suspects and witnesses.
Dunne becomes discredited and Santoro takes charge of the subsequent investigation. Slowly, he begins to unravel the tangle of evidence, presented in multiple-viewpoint "Rashomon" style, that points to a nasty little conspiracy.
The trademark De Palma touches abound -- the continuous, painstakingly choreographed shots, the split-screen sequences, the visual Hitchcock quotes, the scantily-clad females -- with a few fresh flourishes added to the mix. The impressive opening aside, there's also a clever overhead pan of the interiors of adjoining hotel rooms that neatly evokes the surreal artificiality of the whole casino environment.
But as much as he attempts to dress up David Koepp's script, De Palma still can't take it anywhere. Koepp, who collaborated with De Palma on "Mission: Impossible" and "Carlito's Way", contributes more of a blueprint for De Palma's fancy footwork than a three-dimensional screenplay. Everything feels warmed-over and lazily derivative. The characters seem to be there only to spout plot exposition rather than to exchange any actual, personality-defining dialogue.
As a result, most efforts made by the actors to elevate the material end up taking them very close to over-the-top, particularly Cage and Sinise.
Most of De Palma's assembled technical staff have worked together many times, including director of photography Stephen H. Burum and editor Bill Pankow. Their work here, along with production designer Anne Pritchard and costume designer Odette Gadoury, is, as usual, undeniably eye-catching.
