If you are a fan of the classic TV sitcom Seinfeld, then you have seen how big a role cereal plays in Jerry’s life. However, the famous comedian has taken his love to a whole new level with the over-the-top portrayal of the reinvention of breakfast as Pop-Tarts hit the market in Unfrosted. Unfrosted is a comedy that stars Seinfeld, but it also marks his directorial debut for a comedy feature film. The cast list is also an amazing who’s who of comedy actors which features Jerry Seinfeld, Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan, Hugh Grant, Amy Schumer, Max Greenfield, Christian Slater, Bill Burr, Daniel Levy, James Marsden, Jack McBrayer, Thomas Lennon, Bobby Moynihan, Adrian Martinez, Sarah Cooper and Fred Armisen. In July, HBO series “Insecure,” “Ballers,” “Band of Brothers,” “Six Feet Under,” and “The Pacific” (and “True Detective” outside of the U.S.) copy-and-pasted their way onto Netflix. The first-of-its-kind move between the longtime rivals was a success, HBO chief Casey Bloys said at Wednesday’s Code Conference — and not just in terms of a licensing fee.
“What’s been nice about it is, without doing a thing on Max, the viewership of… ‘Ballers’ and ‘Insecure’ [on Max] really saw a spike when it was on Netflix,” Bloys said. “You’re introducing it to more people, it’s marketing.”
It’s becoming a more and more common marketing practice. Rerun episodes of USA Network series “Suits” were on Peacock for years, and they did fine — for USA Network reruns on Peacock. But when NBCUniversal licensed the nine-season (2011-2019) legal dramedy to Netflix in June, the bar (pun intended) was raised.

We live in a Fast world. At the end of June, there were approximately 1,500 unique free, ad-supported, streaming television channels — the 21st-century version of syndicated cable. According to data from Stream Metrics, those channels belong to about 20 U.S. providers.
In a Stream Metrics study for IndieWire, the analysts identified an owner for 1,364 of the channels. Most owners are in the single digits, but one company holds more than 20 percent of the channels studied: Paramount Global.
Paramount-owned Pluto TV is credited with creating 156 unique Fast channels; Paramount proper has another 129. Spanish-language media company Televisa’s next, with 45, followed by Warner Bros. Discovery’s 32.
The vast majority of the Paramount-attributed Fast TV channels were created, programmed, distributed, and operated by Pluto TV, but they’re differentiated via specific Paramount IP.

The HBO show Barry walks a tightrope between satirizing the delusional nature of actors and straightforwardly examining the fatal consequences of the title character’s (Bill Hader) decisions. Each season of the show pushes the plot into more horrific territory, but the comedy is still on point thanks to characters like Noho Hank (Anthony Carrigan). A few seasons in and now Hank is everyone’s favorite Chechen gangster, but when Barry began filming, the plan was for him to die in the pilot episode.
Noho Hank is the comedic heartbeat of ‘Barry’ (L-r): Bill Hader Stephen Root, Glenn Fleshler, Anthony Carrigan in ‘Barry’ Season 1 | John P. Johnson/HBO
Hank is second in command of the Chechen mafia led by Goran Pazar (Glenn Fleshler). He is Barry’s main foil as the hitman-turned-actor sinks deeper into LA’s criminal underworld. Despite the gravity of their circumstances, Hank approaches his life...

HBO has canceled its critically-acclaimed sci-fi drama Westworld after four seasons. The big-budget hit featuring an all-star cast aired its most recent outing earlier this year, and showrunners hoped to wrap things up with a fifth season. The series, which debuted in 2016, is based on Michael Crichton’s 1973 film and was adapted for television by real-life couple Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy who currently helm Prime Video‘s The Peripheral. Among the show’s large ensemble are Evan Rachel Wood, Jeffrey Wright, Tessa Thompson, Ed Harris, Thandiwe Newton, Luke Hemsworth, and Aaron Paul. Meanwhile, James Marsden returned in Season 4 and the series previously featured Oscar-winning actor Anthony Hopkins. (Credit: John P. Johnson / ©HBO / courtesy Everett Collection) Westworld initially centered around the titular theme park which is inhabited by “hosts,” where human guests have free reign to do as they please to them. But even though the film deals with the supernatural, director Dan Trachtenberg wanted to make Prey feel as realistic as possible, especially given its setting among a Native American tribe. That’s something that the film’s star, Amber Midthunder, really appreciated; as an indigenous actress, she told us that Trachtenberg was always open to ideas and suggestions about how to make the movie feel more authentic. Photograph by John P. Johnson/ HBO HBO has renewed the Emmy(R) and Golden Globe-winning comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm, starring Larry David, for a twelfth season. Originally debuting on HBO in 2001 and with 110 completed episodes to date, Curb Your Enthusiasm stars “Seinfeld” co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his fictionalized life. The series also stars Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, J.B. Smoove, Cheryl Hines, Richard Lewis, Vince Vaughn, and Ted Danson. ·Amy Gravitt, Executive Vice President, HBO Programming quote: “Larry outdoes himself season after season and always manages to come back when the audience needs him most. We’re thrilled for him, Jeff Schaffer, and our phenomenal cast to continue making us laugh and cringe in equal measure.” Larry David quote: “Playing the role of Larry David has been the greatest honor of my life. Unlike the three sequels that preceded it, Prey is a prequel to the original Predator, taking place at least 250 years before the events of the first film. Being so far removed chronologically from the franchise’s other films gave director Dan Trachtenberg a lot of leeway to make Prey a different kind of Predator film. And though he says the movie stays true to the spirit of the series, Trachtenberg told us there’s a little more suspense in Prey, compared to the others. And so we end our first tour of Westworld, armed with the knowledge that nothing was as it seemed in that pilot episode and everything was as it seemed in breathless, allegedly "speculative" Reddit threads. To sum up: Bernard was both a host and a flesh-and-circuitry avatar of Arnold, the park's late co-founder. The mysterious Man in Black was indeed William, some 30 odd years into the future (or if you prefer, William was the park's resident repeat-visitor psychopath three decades ago; choose your own preferred parallel-timeline adventure), and the organization's majority stake holder.

Taking on a 40-year-old movie as the inspiration for a television series comes with a lot of challenges, but Westworld should really be understood as simply “drawing from” the original, as opposed to attempting anything like remaking it.
We’re in an adult-oriented “theme park” that has guests meandering through a world populated by androids (Hosts) that are nearly indistinguishable from people, it’s a western world, and something is going wrong, but the similarities end there.
The park runs on a theory of open-world video games, populated entirely by side quests, as the Hosts run through their routines to present the possibility of pulling guests into whatever side story they may be connected to. As the show tells us, there are hundreds of stories going on at the same time, and they are all malleable enough to adjust to whatever a guest chooses to do with them. You can play through “normally,...

HBO announced a trio of fall premiere dates for returning series, including one show that hasn't been on the network for nearly a decade.
That latter series, "The Comeback," is making a triumphant comeback of its own, with Lisa Kudrow reprising her role as washed-up sitcom star Valerie Cherish. The first iteration of the show lasted 13 episodes back in 2005 before it was pulled by HBO; this time around, it's being brought back for an eight-episode limited series run, set to premiere on November 9.
Directly in front of "The Comeback" on the schedule is "The Newsroom," which is returning for its third and final season on the network. The Aaron Sorkin-penned series will wrap up its run with six episodes, and Paul Lieberstein ("The Office") is joining the show as an executive producer.

Ever since he was announced to have been cast in True Blood’s upcoming Season 5, I’ve been dying to see Chris Meloni as a new vampire, hanging out with the likes of Spartacus’ Peter Mensah. Now you can check them out and others in the new images released by HBO for the hotly anticipated season. I think twenty images, courtesy of TV Guide, is more than enough for fans of the show to salivate over. The most interesting photos are those of the Vampire Authority and its chancellors, whose ranks include Meloni and Mensah’s characters, both of whom look mighty fine is their fancy suits.
The other members of the Vampire Authority include Valentina Cervi, apparently quite the seductress, Christopher Heyerdahl, Carolyn Hennesy, and Jacob Hopkins. Hopkins should immediately draw your attention because he looks to be about 12 years old. It doesn’t matter what age you get...

As we head into the final stretch of this season of True Blood, we can be sure of thing: Alexander Skarsgård has no problem flashing his derriere for the camera. Seriously, I've lost track of how much male butt cheek we've seen this season since this is one of those rare shows where we see see the guys as naked as much as the women, if not more.
Alas, having seen next week's episode, I'm sorry to report that Alexander's bare bum is nowhere to be seen. On the plus side, Joe Manganiello finds yet another reason to drop trou.
What else can you expect in next week's ep? Lafayette and Jesus get some nice moments together as things come to a head after Lafayette's recent possession by a dead woman looking for her child. Fans of the couple should be especially pleased as their relationship becomes central to how the storyline plays out.

Antonia has successfully entered Marnie’s body and in a Voldemort-meets-Quirrell sort of way, uses her human host to try to achieve her ultimate end: the destruction of every living (er, you know what we mean) vampire around. Her first step is to take mind-control of her Inquisition-era torturer and rapist, Louis. She forces him to kill Bill’s lieutenant and finally fulfils the vampires’ fear that humans will be able to control the dead.

Courtesy of John P. Johnson/HBO.It’s difficult enough making it as a working actor, but it’s even trickier if you’re an actor on the HBO vampire-fetish drama True Blood. The show has a Cannonball Run–sized cast, with storylines competing, like a gang of prepubescent boys with a stick and a dead frog, to see which can be the grossest. If you’re in the True Blood cast and you want to be noticed, you have to either have explicit and blood-soaked sex in which you or your partner (or both) is bitten, mauled, disfigured, or had his or her head turned 180 degrees, or be a hot guy with ridiculously ripped abs who repeatedly takes off his shirt for no apparent reason. And then there’s Pam, played with sassy swagger by Kristin Bauer, who has gone from being a barely noticeable minor character—she runs...

Starring: Martin Lawrence, Brandon T. Jackson and Jessica Lucas
It is possible that nobody will ever know what it is about men dressed up as sassy fat women that captures this nation’s imagination. Between Tyler Perry’s “Madea” movies, Eddie Murphy’s “The Klumps” and Martin Lawrence’s “Big Momma’s House,” all tremendously successful movie franchises that explore this conceit, it seems that the sassy fat drag plot can never be done too many times.
“Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son” is the third installment in Lawrence’s successful series, which features him as Malcolm, an FBI agent who repeatedly goes undercover as Hattie Mae Pierce, aka “Big Momma,” a large, feisty woman with a nose for mischief and an endless supply of matronly wisdom. Though the film features all the antics we’ve come...

HollywoodNews.com: As Zack Snyder rolls his “Superman” into preproduction, gossip has been swirling as to who will play the man in blue tights.
“True Blood” actor Joe Manganiello aka Alcide on “True Blood” spilled the beans at a convention in Orlando, Florida that he was in talks with Snyder for the title role.
Then in hindsight, Manganiello feared he said too much. Per Vulture who was reading a “True Blood” fansite, the werewolf actor took to Twitter and wrote, “Just to be clear..as of today, I am not ‘negotiating’ to play SuperMan.”
Armie Hammer of “Social Network” fame recently revealed that he was turned down for the role as Snyder was looking for a thirtysomething Man of Steel.

HollywoodNews.com: Like blood leaking from a vampire’s victim, more “True Blood” spoilers arrive on the internet.
On the horizon is a smack down between Alcide the werewolf (Joe Manganiello) and the evil vampire Eric (Alexander Skarsgård). And who are they fighting over?
Why the love of Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin).
“Obviously, Bill and Sookie have been having some problems, and Alcide is in a very interesting position as far as all of that goes,” Manganiello tells E! “And Eric steps into the mix as well.
“Werewolves and vampires don’t like each other to begin with. You will wind up seeing Eric and Alcide together at some point. When I was being cast, I heard that they were looking for somebody as tall or taller than Alex because they wanted somebody who could square off against him. I’ll just say that.”
Alcide’s unstable ex-girlfriend, Debbie (Brit Morgan...

Hollywoodnews.com: Let’s take a moment to thank Sweden for a few things such as Abba, Ace of Base, Ikea and “True Blood” star Alexander Skarsgård’s nudity.
“I’m not a prude. I’m from Sweden, and it’s different there,” the burgeoning actor tells Popeater, “I love to be naked. It’s kind of liberating.”
Skarsgård, who plays vampire baddie Eric on the show and engages in lots of sex scenes, further elaborates, “If it makes sense, I’ll do nudity, and it’s made sense every single time I’m naked on the show.”
“I’ve got a very, very graphic scene coming up [in "True Blood"] that I shot with a man,” Skarsgård teases.
And the more dicey the scenes, the better. When it comes to choosing projects to work on, Skarsgård doesn’t like any of that cutesy-wootsy stuff. For example, he appeared in Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi” music video,...
