When Is Jason Bateman’s Netflix Series Daddy Ball Coming? Well, Netflix’s collaboration with Jason Bateman’s production company, Aggregate, continues to flourish as they embark on a fresh and captivating venture, a limited series titled “Daddy Ball,” in which Bateman himself will assume a starring role.
This project not only sees Bateman’s on-screen talent but also his prowess as a producer and director.
Alongside Bateman, Michael Costigan and Roxie Rodriguez will take on the roles of co-executive producers for Aggregate, while David Herbert and David Klawans will contribute to the series as producers, infusing the dark comedy limited series with their creative vision.
The competition for the rights to this series was fierce, with eight compelling offers on the table, but it was Netflix that emerged victorious, securing the series through an outright acquisition, the financial details of which remain undisclosed but certainly reflective of the intense demand.

Now this sounds right up Jason Bateman’s alley. Deadline reports that Jason Bateman is set to star in and direct a series adaptation of David Gauvey Herbert’s Esquire magazine article Daddy Ball for Netflix and Aggregate.
Daddy Ball deals with dad-on-dad youth sports rivalries, but on the Long Island Inferno, two fathers, both with complicated pasts, took it all too far. There were claims of stalking, corrupt cops, and mob connections. Neither man was ever the same. Daddy Ball, which will be retitled for the series, has the potential to be exactly the type of dark comedy that Jason Bateman excels at.

Here’s Deadline’s description of the article: “Determined not to follow in his detached father’s footsteps, Bobby Sanfilippo found himself doing quite the opposite with his son. He became entangled in an epic...

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are teaming up again for a McMovie. That's right, the best friends are making a movie about the man who managed to rig the biannual McDonald's Monopoly game back in 2001.
Jeff Maysh wrote and published the true-crime report for The Daily Beast on July 28. The article tells the story of ex-cop Jerome Jacobson, who used his job as a security officer at the firm that printed the game pieces to rig the Monopoly game. Over several years, Jacobson managed to steal over $24 million and share it with his network of "mobsters, psychics, strip-club owners, and drug traffickers."
The movie will follow the FBI operation titled "Operation Final Answer" that worked to uncover the criminal ring. Damon is tapped to star in the film with Affleck attached to direct. Both actors will produce through their Pearl Street banner with Maysh and David Klawans to be executive producers.

The name Debora Cahn is not one that enjoys instant recognition among audiences, but she has been working steadily and with impressive results since her days as an award-winning writer on The West Wing. Eventually rising to the ranks of producer on that show, she went on to replicate the same success on Grey’s Anatomy. With a feature script having ranked highly on the 2013 Black List (The Special Program), her work has drawn attention from notable places – including Smokehouse Productions and Columbia Pictures, who have recruited her to write Coronado High.
Based on an article by Joshua Bearman, the story will focus on a laid-back teacher in Coronado, California in 1969, who collaborated with some local high school students to smuggle pot from Mexico, using swimming and paddle surfboards. From this supposedly simple idea rose a sizable 1970s criminal empire, which was ultimately taken down by the Drug Enforcement Agency.

Ben Affleck may have been busy prepping for Argo, but we didn’t know too much about the film itself beside Affleck directing and starring alongside Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, and John Goodman. Now Warner Brothers has released an official plot synopsis for Argo and announced that Kyle Chandler, Tate Donovan, Rory Cochrane and Taylor Schilling will be added to the cast.
The film adapts the true story of a CIA team that posed as a film crew in order to extract diplomats from Tehran in 1979. But as exciting as the premise sounds, the recent cast additions that include the great Michael Parks (above), as well as Clea Duvall and Richard Kind makes the film sound greater than it already is.
So this is the official plot synopsis,

Warner Bros has sent out the obligatory press release to announce the commencement of filming on Ben Affleck's third film as director, Argo. We've known most of the cast for a while: Affleck, Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, and John Goodman, with more recent additions Kyle Chandler, Tate Donovan, Rory Cochrane and Taylor Schilling. Now we've got an official synopsis for the film, which adapts the true story of a CIA team that posed as a film crew in order to extract diplomats from Tehran in 1979. But perhaps of more interest to some who already know the story is the confirmation of cast additions that include the great Michael Parks (above), as well as Clea Duvall and Richard Kind. I can't really do better than the press release, which goes like this: Based on true events, "Argo" chronicles the life-or-death covert operation to rescue six Americans, which unfolded behind the...

Ben Affleck has begun commanding a dangerous mission deep into the heart of an extremely hostile enemy. Luckily, he'll get to boss the bad guys around, too.
Principal photography on the star's third directorial effort, "Argo," began on Thursday, with Warner Bros. sending out a press release detailing both the star-studded behind-the-scenes team (see: Clooney, George, for example) and the first official synopsis of the based-on-a-true-story film.
In a quick summary of the synopsis, the film is about six Us hostages that have escaped the grasp of their Iranian hostage takers during the famous 1979 crisis. They make their way to the home of a Canadian ambassador, but require an extreme plan to make it out of the country. Enter a preposterous, movie production scheme and some guts of steel, and you have one of the wildest stories in recent covert history (or, so we know).

With production beginning today on Ben Affleck‘s hostage thriller Argo, Warner Bros. lets us know of a few new players added to the cast. We’ve already got Affleck starring alongside Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston, John Goodman, Kerry Bishé, Kyle Chandler, Rory Cochrane, Christopher Denham, Tate Donovan, Clea DuVall, Victor Garber, Zeljko Ivanek, Scoot McNairy and Taylor Schilling. Three names stood out for me as new additions though in the press release.
Richard Kind (A Serious Man), Chris Messina (Away We Go) and Michael Parks (who is in Kevin Smith‘s Red State, on VOD today), round out the rest of the major actors. There is no word on what specific roles they play, but these are three of my favorite character actors and it is nice to see Affleck make these additions. After mostly enjoying The Town and loving Gone Baby Gone, I’m looking forward to this one.

Ben Affleck certainly made good use of the casting couch for his third directorial effort "Argo" as he's decided to cast himself as the leading man reports Variety.
Based on Joshuah Bearman's 2007 Wired magazine article, the wryly humoured political thriller centers on how, during the occupation of the American embassy by Iranians in 1979, a rescue effort was mounted by the CIA and the Canadian government to extract six U.S. diplomats.
The CIA used exfiltration expert Tony Mendez (Affleck) and concocted a scenario that involved the six being a Hollywood crew scouting a sci-fi movie titled "Argo". Under those disguises, and with the help of artwork by legendary comics creator Jack Kirby, they were able to flee the country.
Alan Arkin and John Goodman are in final negotiations to co-star in the film which George Clooney, David Klawans and Grant Heslov are producing. Chris Terrio wrote the screenplay.

Alan Arkin is the first name in negotiations to join Ben Affleck’s next directorial project, Argo, set in the midst of the Iran hostage crisis that ran from November 1979 to January 1981, Variety report.
Arkin is a bit of an acting veteran, known for Catch-22 back in 1970 to Edward Scissorhands in 1990 and Little Miss Sunshine in 2007, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
Affleck received substantial praise for his directorial debut in 2007 with Gone Baby Gone, which was further cemented last year with The Town, in which he also starred, which made a lot of people’s Top 10 Films of the Year lists, including mine. Affleck is forcing members of his cast to to live together in a single “safe-house” for two weeks prior to the start of production.
