“The Brady Bunch” star Barry Williams was inspired by TV mom Florence Henderson to go on “Dancing With the Stars,” he told TheWrap in an interview last week.
Henderson, who played mom Carol Brady on the ’70s sitcom, competed in Season 11 of the ABC competition. “She was my inspiration,” he said. When asked if he thinks of the actress, who died on Nov. 24, 2016, whenever he hits the dance floor, he answered, “Yes. Every week.”
Williams visited the set in 2010 to watch Henderson rehearse and perform. “I was really taken with it,” he said. “She had always mentored me in one way or another. She knew that I had been active theatrically in a lot of musicals, and she thought this would be a great fit for me. I got the bug, and she made me promise to go for it.”

Dancing with the Stars‘ competitor Barry Williams is one of the most beloved classic television celebrities. For those who grew up in the 1970s and beyond, his work on The Brady Bunch remains must-see TV for its wholesome portrayal of a blended American family. However, he may hold a different distinction within his fictional television clan: is Barry the oldest living member of the original Brady Bunch cast?
Barry Williams played the oldest Brady brother, Greg, on ‘The Brady Bunch’
Barry Williams’ role as Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch instantly made him one of TV’s most recognizable faces. Alongside co-stars Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, Ann B. Davis, Maureen McCormick, Eve Plumb, Susan Olsen, Christopher Knight, and Mike Lookinland, The Brady Bunch became a cultural phenomenon that ran for five seasons on the ABC network.

Anyone who grew up in the 1970s can tell you the story of a lovely lady, who was bringing up three very lovely girls, and a man named Brady, who was busy with three boys of his own. Of course, one day, the lady met this fellow, and the rest is TV history. When Carol Martin (Florence Henderson) married Mike Brady (Robert Reed), all six of their children came together, along with their trusty maid Alice (Ann B. Davis), to become the sitcom family known as "The Brady Bunch."
"The Brady Bunch" is one of the most beloved and memorable sitcoms of all time. The adolescent antics of Greg (Barry Williams), Peter (Christopher McKnight), Bobby (Mike Lookinland), Marcia (Maureen McCormick), Jan (Eve Plumb), and Cindy (Susan Olsen) made for plenty of comedy and drama as the bunch dealt with the trials and tribulations of a blended family, sibling rivalries, growing up,...

Dancing with the Stars viewers are calling foul on judges Carrie Ann Inaba, head judge Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. They claim the trio was “underscoring” beloved TV star Barry Williams after a lively Cha Cha for Latin Night. Fans believe “they did him dirty” by giving the entertainer scores that placed him toward the bottom of the leaderboard.
Fans believe judges were ‘underscoring’ Barry Williams’ on his challenging Cha Cha
Dancing with the Stars Season 32 cast member Barry Williams entered week two of DWTS facing a challenging Cha Cha for Latin Night. Peta Murgatroyd trained Williams in the dance, incorporating small, quick steps rather than long glides across the dance floor.
In a video package accompanying William’s Cha Cha, Peta Murgatroyd and other competing couples celebrated Williams’ 69th birthday in a DWTS rehearsal room. The former Brady Bunch star admitted a great birthday gift would be high scores from the judges.

HGTV has sold The Brady Bunch house and it did so at below the asking price and below the price they paid when they purchased it back in 2018.
The Los Angeles home served as the exterior shot of the popular 1970s sitcom. HGTV bought the home and renovated the interior to replicate the Hollywood sets of the comedy that starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the home sold for $3.2 million, which the cable network had listed at $5.5 million earlier this year. HGTV bought the home for $3.5 million at the time and documented the renovations with specials like A Very Brady Renovation and A Very Brady Renovation: Holiday Edition.
Tina Trahan, a self-proclaimed fan of the show and the 1995 parody film, bought the home and said she would use the house located in Studio City for charitable events.

Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams played step-siblings on the iconic TV series The Brady Bunch. But off-screen, the feeling between the two actors wasn’t exactly what you would expect between a brother and sister. The two had a long-simmering crush on each other that they finally acted on while filming on-location in Hawaii.
Maureen McCormick and Barry Williams had feelings for each other
In 1972, the cast of The Brady Bunch released their second studio album, Meet the Brady Bunch. Soon after, they headed out on a cross-country tour, playing at state fairs and theaters in San Bernardino, Savannah, Atlantic City, and elsewhere, McCormick recalled in her 2008 memoir, Here’s the Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My Voice.

Even TV stars get starstruck from time to time. Just ask Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady on the iconic 1970s sitcom The Brady Bunch. Even she got a little flustered when Davy Jones of the Monkees guest starred in a memorable season 3 episode.
The Monkees’ lead singer guest-starred on ‘The Brady Bunch’
“Getting Davy Jones” revolved around an ill-considered promise that Marcia made to Fernwood Junior High School’s prom planning committee. The teen, who was the president of the school’s Davy Jones Fan Club, claimed she could get the singer to appear at the school dance.
The school announced that the pop star would be at the big event, which mean that Marcia had to scramble to get in touch with Jones and convince him to show up. She went so far as to sneak into the singer’s recording studio and plead her case to his manager.

Here’s your chance to own a piece of television history. HGTV has put the iconic Brady Bunch house on the market for $5.5 million.

HGTV purchased the house in Studio City for $3.5 million in 2019. The network then invested $1.9 million in a massive renovation of the midcentury home, which was chronicled in the 2019 series A Very Brady Renovation.
The show reunited the actors who played the six Brady siblings – Barry Williams (Greg), Maureen McCormick (Marcia), Christopher Knight (Peter), Eve Plumb (Jan), Mike Lookinland (Bobby), and Susan Olsen (Cindy). They teamed up with HGTV renovation experts Jonathan and Drew Scott, Mina Starsiak Hawk and Karen E Laine, Leanne and Steve Ford, Jasmine Roth, and Lara Spencer to transform the house so that it closely resembled the interior seen on the beloved sitcom, which aired from 1969 to 1974.

Adam Brody is not Seth Cohen. I have to remind myself of this when the actor appears on screen looking exactly like Seth Cohen. The mop of curls that made Brody, now 43, a Noughties teen icon on The Oc are still there, still mop-ish. Only there’s a little grey woven in now. Since then, Brody has embarked on a career that has splintered in exciting and unexpected directions. You can hardly blame him for not being overly ecstatic to rehash a decade-old role. “Ok” is how he feels when he’s asked about that show these days. Regardless, he is unfailingly polite. Always charming, sometimes warm.
It doesn’t help, though, that his latest role is also called Seth. “They’re very different characters,” Brody assures me. This new Seth is a scene-stealer in FX’s Fleishman Is in Trouble, a TV adaptation of Taffy Brodesser-Akner’s bestselling novel.

Hollywood is taking to Twitter to pay their respects to beloved sitcom actor Gavin MacLeod, who passed away early Saturday morning at the age of 90.
MacLeod’s roles as Murray Slaughter on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” and Captain Merrill Stubing on “The Love Boat” rendered him a mainstay of 1970s and ’80s television, as well as a source of both comedy and comfort for countless viewers.
See how some of MacLeod’s costars, friends and fans are honoring the late TV legend.
Ed Asner, who starred opposite MacLeod on “The Mary Tyler Moore Show,” described the actor as “my brother, my partner in crime (and food) and my comic conspirator.” He also assured MacLeod that he’d see him and the rest of “the gang” in a bit. Asner and Betty White are the classic sitcom’s only living cast members.
Actor Michael McKean replied to Asner’s tweet with his own condolences.

Maureen McCormick and Eve Plumb, known worldwide as The Brady Bunch's Marcia and Jan, respectively, joined the Hgtv family with A Very Brady Renovation in 2019. The TV siblings, along with Barry Williams, Susan Olsen, Christopher Knight and Mike Lookinland, teamed up with a variety of Hgtv stars to redo the inside of the home that provided the exterior shots of the Brady compound to look like the TV set. Walmart has figured out a way to get its goods in front of shoppers – even if the effects of the coronavirus pandemic are keeping them from visiting its stores.
As part of an advertising agreement struck with Discovery, the large retailer will have products and ad messages woven into and around a new Hgtv series that has homeowners record themselves as they make over a room with the help of designers stationed remotely. The “self shot” series, “Design At Your Door,” debuts Thursday at 9 p.m. eastern.
Discovery has launched several so-called “quarantine” concepts featuring Guy Fieri or Amy Schumer with quick-turnaround deadlines to help fill its programming grid as the pandemic has forced normal production to cease. But the fast pivot has spurred the company’s ad-sales teams to work even faster to line up Madison Avenue support.
“Normally, we’d have 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13 weeks, but not here,” says Greg Regis,...

Alison Victoria, the host of Hgtv’s Windy City Rehab, has the same concerns many homeowners have as the pandemic crisis continues. She has seven homes currently in various stages of construction and the clock is ticking on their loans in a luxury real estate market that’s currently dead and unlikely to quickly revive. The segment focuses on executives and leaders from around the country on how they are coping in this time of quarantine. In Victoria’s case, she’s pondering whether the major investments needed to rehab her properties will pay off in an uncertain future. Somewhere, someone has been desperately hoping that Hollywood would get around to making a movie adaptation of the late-’70s TV show “Fantasy Island.” Meanwhile, it would seem that the rest of us — that is, the filmgoing public — are just extras in an elaborate cautionary tale designed to teach that person a lesson. The point being: Be careful what you wish for; such corny old TV series are better suited for reruns than for reboots. As suave yet sinister host Mr. Roarke warns the half-dozen expendable douchebags — er, guests — who’ve traveled to this enchanted retreat to live out their wildest dreams, “Fantasies rarely play out as you would expect.”

Marcia Brady is heading back to Hgtv… Maureen McCormick, who played the eldest Brady daughter Marcia in the ABC comedy The Brady Bunch, is fronting Frozen in Time for the Discovery-owned network.
McCormick, who was one of the six surviving Brady Bunch cast members to appear in A Very Brady Renovation, will host another home renovation series for the network.
The show, which is set to air this spring, will see McCormick and designer Dan Vickery overhaul homes that are stuck in a design time warp. In each episode, Vickery will bring the structure up-to-date, while McCormick sources decade-specific pieces that will give the home a refreshed look and a wink to its original era.
This follows the ratings success of A Very Brady Renovation, which saw the original cast overhaul the house used in the sitcom’s exterior shots. That show launched in September after Hgtv purchased the Studio City house.

As controversy builds around “Richard Jewell” and its depiction of female journalists, it’s nothing new for women music writers on the silver screen.
Although “Crazy Heart,” which premiered 10 years ago this month, was basically 2009’s equivalent of Bradley Cooper’s remake of “A Star Is Born,” it hasn’t had quite the staying power of some other archetypal music-based films. Jeff Bridges won his first Oscar for his portrayal of a washed-up, alcoholic country singer, and Maggie Gyllenhaal was nominated for her performance as the much younger love interest who tries to save him from self-destruction. The main difference in this film written and directed by Scott Cooper (no relation to Bradley) is that Gyllenhaal’s character is not a fellow singer-songwriter ripe for mentoring, but rather an aspiring journalist in search of a story.
Before long, however, business and pleasure intermingle and Bridges and Gyllenhaal wake up in...

Here’s the story of a rock star obsessed with the Bradys.
No kidding. Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 got to live out a childhood fantasy when he attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly revealed Brady Bunch house on Hgtv’s “A Very Brady Renovation.”
John 5, who has collaborated with a diverse array of musicians — from David Lee Roth to Ricky Martin to Steve Perry — had an “in” for the invite-only unveiling: Susan Olsen, who played Cindy Brady in “The Brady Bunch,” was featured in the video for the guitarist’s song “Zoinks!” from his new album, “Invasion.”
“It was like taking a little boy to a toy store,” Olsen tells Variety of her friend’s reaction to the house. “When people walk into the house, they magically turn into children, and John is just the kind of child you want to spoil rotten because he’s so lovable.
No kidding. Rob Zombie guitarist John 5 got to live out a childhood fantasy when he attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly revealed Brady Bunch house on Hgtv’s “A Very Brady Renovation.”

Here’s the story of a lovely lady
Who was bringing up three very lovely girls
All of them had hair of gold, like their mother
The youngest one in curls
Here’s the story of a man named Brady
Who was busy with three boys of his own
They were four men living all together
Yet they were all alone
Till the one day when the lady met this fellow
And they knew that it was much more than a hunch
That this group must somehow form a family
That’s the way we all became the Brady Bunch
The Brady Bunch, the Brady Bunch
That’s the way we became the Brady Bunch
Now that the song is going through your head (you’re welcome), what was it about this cheesy little sitcom that has made it endure 50 years? “The Brady Bunch” is celebrating its 50th anniversary ABC...
