Considering the Walt Disney Company owns, well, everything these days, calling one of their films "underrated" seems a little silly. And yet, if you ask me, "Sky High" is undoubtedly the leader of the underrated live-action Disney roster. Just before Disney became the parent company of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the studio put out a family-friendly coming-of-age superhero comedy that, as /Film's Rafael Motamayor once described, "poked fun at expanded universes, superhero legacies, and every trope in the book." The story centered on teenager Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano), the son of famed superheroes Steve Stronghold/The Commander (Kurt Russell) and Josie DeMarco-Stronghold/Jetstream (Kelly Preston). He's poised to be the next great hero after he starts training at Sky High — a super-secret floating school for superheroes and sidekicks — but Will doesn't have any powers.

(Welcome to My Most Ridiculous Note, a series of interviews in which animators talk about the weirdest and funniest notes they received from studio executives.)
"Kim Possible" was only the second animated series made for Disney Channel (after "The Proud Family"), and it quickly became one of the cable channel's most popular shows. It's easy to see why: It had action, it had comedy, and it had one of the coolest Disney pets ever.
One of the minds behind the show, co-creator Mark McCorkle, has been in the industry long enough to see it go from being dominated by toy commercials to exploding with original (and not-so-original) ideas and genres. He's worked on everything from "The Super Mario Bros. Super Show!" and Hasbro's "Cops" to "Aladdin and the King of Thieves" and "Buzz Lightyear of Star Command."

Twenty years ago, “Kim Possible” creators Bob Schooley and Mark McCorkle introduced the world to a high school cheerleader who saved the world in her spare time alongside her best friend Ron Stoppable and his naked mole rat, Rufus.
The series turned the damsel in distress trope on its head, putting a heroine on the small screen at a time when most of the world-saving characters we knew were men (and they still are). Schooley and McCorkle told TheWrap that the original inspiration for the iconic character came from their daughters.
“When we were growing up, we would have these action heroes that we would worship. We looked at them and said, ‘Well, you know, it was always effortless for them.’ And it’s like, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice to have a heroine where it’s effortless like that?’” McCorkle said. “There’s never a point where it’s like,...

Like it or not, Disney is making a live-action Kim Possible movie and they've released the first teaser trailer for it. A lot of fans of the original animated series don't seem very excited about this movie, and I doubt that this teaser trailer is going to change their minds. It offers us a little glimpse of footage of Sadie Stanley as the heroine of the series in action.

With all the TV reboots coming down the pike in 2018, it was only a matter of time before beloved Disney Channel shows started getting the same treatment. Just like the recent revival of That's So Raven, Kim Possible is also being brought back but with a fun twist.
The animated series about a young high-school cheerleader who lives a double life as a spy saving the world from supervillains is being turned into a live-action movie with newcomer Sadie Stanley as the title character. The Goldbergs star Sean Giambrone will play her trusty sidekick Ron Stoppable.
At San Diego Comic-Con on July 21, executive producers Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley shared a first look at the movie, which will premiere in 2019. In the quick clip shared by the Disney Channel, the spunky animated character is shown evolving through the years, ending with a shot of Stanley all suited up as Kim.

A few months ago we learned that Disney was going to be developing a live-action film adaptation of their classic animated series Kim Possible. The movie will air on the Disney Channel and today we've learned the two actors who will play Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable. Those young actors are newcomer Sadie Stanley and Sean Giambrone (The Goldbergs).
Kim Possible centers on a typical high school girl who, in her spare time, saves the world from evil villains. Along with her hapless sidekick Ron and his naked mole-rat Rufus, Kim took on power-hungry villains like Drakken and Shego. Judy Taylor, Senior VP of casting and talent relations at Disney Channel had this to say about the casting in a statement:
"Sadie delivers Kim's confidence, smarts, and agility; most importantly, she's an everyday girl with an extraordinary spirit.

Sadie Stanley and Sean Giambrone will star as Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable respectively. Kim Possible is coming to the big screen, Disney has confirmed
The Disney Channel is developing a live-action film version of Kim Possible, the animated spy series that ran from 2002 to 2007 for 87 episodes. While the series has already had two Disney Channel animated films, this would be the first live-action film.
Kim Possible follows the life of a high school girl who fights crime alongside her sidekick Ron Stoppable and his naked mole-rat Rufus, as well as computer genius Wade. Christy Carlson-Romano, of Even Stevens fame, voiced the main character of Kim in the series. Hopefully, Carlson-Romano will be involved in the project in some way. Either way, this premise and tone has the potentialy to be a fun, kid-geared spy movie like we haven't had in a while.

Years after the conclusion of her cartoon, the Disney Channel is looking to make a live-action Kim Possible film. Casting is currently underway for the project, so no word on who will play Kim, her sidekick Ron Stoppable, or the computer mastermind Wade, but I'm sure those details will come sooner than later.
As for the film itself, the film is being written by the series creators Mark McCorkle and Robert Schooley, as well as Josh Cagan. Adam B. Stein and Zach Lipovsky will co-direct. Kim Possible has had animated films before, but this will be the first time a live-action version of the franchise will be created. I'm assuming if it's a hit there will be more, but my question is, are kids still going to care about Kim Possible?...

President Donald Trump has railed against fake news, but retweeted a fake supporter. On Saturday afternoon, Trump offered his thanks on Twitter to a young African-American woman whose account praised the president for “working hard for the American people.” She appeared to defy the trend of Trump polling poorly with young women and African-Americans. But Twitter snoopers — including Emmy-winning Hollywood writer-producer Robert Schooley, who specializes in children’s programming — uncovered strange inconsistencies in Mincey’s account. Disney’s Big Hero 6 is still probably one of the best (recent) superhero movies, thanks largely to an excellent voice cast and a unique, animated take on the genre. There’s now good reason to hope that Disney Xd’s upcoming Big Hero 6 TV series will match the film in quality, as most of the original voices from the original are set to reprise their roles here.
The Big Hero 6 series is set to pick up right where the film left off, continuing the adventures of Hiro (Ryan Potter), his lovable robot Baymax (Scott Adsit), Aunt Cass (Maya Rudolph), and team of superhero friends – including Honey Lemon (Genesis Rodriguez) and Go Go (Jamie Chung). Other actors reprising their roles comprise Alan Tudyk as tech genius Alistair Krei, and (of course) Stan Lee as Fred’s dad.

Hiro and Baymax’s adventure will continue in 2017, but not on the silver screen.
Hot on the heels of announcing a High School Musical revival, Disney has issued the green light on a Big Hero 6 TV series, picking up directly where the 2014 animated feature film left off in San Fransokyo.
Set for premiere across Disney Xd platforms, the House of Mouse didn’t divulge too much regarding plot at this early stage, though we do know that Wasabi, Go Go, Honey Lemon, and Fred will all return. At the heart of the story is Hiro and his amicable personal healthcare companion, Baymax, who will find themselves up against “daunting academic challenges” and “social trials” after enrolling in the San Fransokyo Institute of Technology.
“Our colleagues at Walt Disney Animation Studios have created a brilliant new world, inspired by Marvel, with vivid, unique characters,” Gary Marsh, president and chief creative officer of Disney Channels Worldwide.

In 2014, Disney released Big Hero 6, the latest (at the time) in their string of animated films, but the first based on a Marvel property. The result was a resounding success. Critics and fans alike seemed to really enjoy the characters and heart of the film, and while the film went on to make over $650 million at the worldwide box office, there has been no real talk of a sequel. Admittedly, when it comes to sequels, Disney isn't really one to follow through--especially in theaters.
They seem content to continue that trend. While Big Hero 6 will not have a theatrical sequel in the near future, Disney seems to be looking to TV as a way of continuing this brand. According to Collider, Disney Xd has announced that it has started production on Big Hero 6: The Series, which is set to have a worldwide debut sometime in 2017. Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley,...

Disney's Big Hero 6 was a great movie, and I was hoping that we'd get to see a sequel somewhere down the road. Well, the studio has announced that Walt Disney Animation Studios will be continuing the story of the Academy Award winning film in a series that will be coming to Disney Xd. The show is currently in production and it is set to debut sometime in 2017.
The Big Hero 6 film was inspired by the Marvel Comics characters that were created by Man of Action's Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau. The series will be brought to life by executive producers Mark McCorkle and Bob Schooley, who are the creators and showrunners of Kim Possible.

I'm a huge fan of animation, animated films are getting better and better. Not only is the look and animation getting ridiculously awesome, but I find that many of these animated films actually have incredibly good stories. Not all of them are good though, for example, Cars 2 and Rio sucked. It will be interesting to see who ends up taking home the awards this year. Out of the movies on the list that I've seen and liked we have Puss in Boots, Rango and Kung Fu Panda 2. I guess it's no surprises that Kung Fu Panda 2 is leading the nominations with 9. Check out the list and let us know what your favorite animated movies of the year are!

Chicago – This serious dog lover was swayed by the family-friendly charms of “Hotel For Dogs,” now available on Blu-Ray and DVD. I’ll admit that the film has some pretty serious flaws and we’ll get to those, but if you’re a kid movie aficionado with a soft spot for man’s best friend, you could do a lot worse than the Blu-Ray of “Hotel For Dogs”. It’s a shaggy one, but a lovable movie pooch.
Blu-Ray Rating: 3.5/5.0 “Hotel For Dogs” should have been better. It’s predictable, a little dull, too slapsticky, and not as clever as one would hope, but this is essentially popcorn fare for kids. Speed Racer Release Date: Jan. 16
Director: Thor Freudenthal
Writer: Jeff Lowell, Bob Schooley, Mark McCorkle
Cinematographer: Michael Grady
Starring: Emma Roberts, Jake T. Austin, Don Cheadle, Johnny Simmons, Kyla Pratt, Lisa Kudrow
Studio/Run Time: Paramount Pictures, 100 mins.
There are movies that work for children and there are movies that work for all ages, and while I, as a grownup, prefer the latter, I'll have to admit that the kids in my screening of Hotel for Dogs liked it just fine. It doesn't offer much to the bored chauffeur-parents sitting next to them, and it highlights, as children’s films often do, the rare abilities of the folks at Pixar to tell complex, engaging tales like Toy Story and Wall*E in a way that holds the interest of children and adults alike. But Hotel for Dogs is harmless fun, and, if nothing else, it offers an excuse to project...
