Stars: Bill Moseley, Bill Oberst Jr., Jake Red, Kyle Anderson, Cody Renee Cameron, Arthur Marroquin, KateLynn E. Newberry, Danni Spring, Victoria Esther Castillo, Jake Lamarca, Nick Pirrmann, Stanley Sarnowski, Mark Sikes | Written by J.S. Brinkley | Directed by Jeff Broadstreet
Written by J.S. Brinkley, based on a story by Donald Borza II and directed by Jeff Broadstreet (Night of the Living Dead 3D), Devil’s Junction: Handy Dandy’s Revenge (also known as just Handy Dandy) is a horror movie about a TV studio that is haunted by a ventriloquist from a 60s kids television program. It’s a basic premise at it’s simplest level, but one that immediately made my B-movie horror loving ears prick up in the air and take note. A promise of muderous dummies? I mean, as a huge fan of killer doll and toy films like Puppet Master, Dolls and Demonic Toys, I was there.

Emmy Rossum’s gorgeous New York City apartment oozes European chic — think fireplace mantels picked up at the Paris flea and gilded antique tables — with cool girl touches like a bar cart and modern art. And while it’s perfectly enjoyable to ogle her out-of-reach decor in the pages of this month’s Elle Decor, we figured why not get the man who created the original to tell us how to mimic the look for a steal.

Doomed: The Untold Story of Roger Corman’s he Fantastic Four.
Here’s the official press release:
In 1994, Roger Corman was tapped to produce this Marvel superhero story on a very small film budget. The film was ultimately shelved prior to distribution, but a VHS copy was mysteriously leaked and the movie became a darling of film bootleggers and, more recently, web pirates. Rumors and speculation surrounding the production have become as much a part of the lore as the film itself.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of Roger Corman’s edition of The Fantastic Four and finally, all of the secrets, stories and legal shenanigans that have kept this a ‘lost’ film will be revealed through in-depth, investigative interviews with the cast and crew.
The documentary is directed by east coast Film Studies professor and independent filmmaker,...

Welcome to the first edition of a new monthly feature here on Nerdly – Back This! – where we take a look at some of the cool content taking the crowdfunding route on sites such as Indiegogo, Sponsume and Kickstarter. In this edition we’re taking a look at two very different films. The first is a British homage to 80s slasher flicks and the second is a Us documentary about a “lost” superhero movie…
If you’d like us to consider your project to feature in a future edition of Back This!, make sure to drop us a line.

This week's selection of geek-friendly crowdfunding projects includes a Marvel movie documentary, a game remake, and some classic manga...
Aside from all the new ideas to be found on crowdfunding websites such as Kickstarter - including a new variety of beef jerky made from posh Japanese cows - there are all sorts of opportunities to indulge our sense of nostalgia.
Through sheer coincidence, the projects that caught my eye this week all have a retro theme; there's a documentary about a forgotten adaptation of a Marvel comic book, a timely revival of one of the most innovative computer games of the 1980s, and a special English language edition of a classic Japanese manga. Although very different, each of these crowdfunding projects is worthy of support, since they're all niche interests that simply couldn't find financial backing through other means.

2012 was a great year for film but a terrible year for TribecaFilm.com Web Producer Mark Sikes. He is going through a midlife crisis. Here are the top films that helped him through the pain. Beast of The Southern Wild (Benh Zeitlin) When you are wallowing in a gyre of sadness and self-doubt, go to a fantasy movie. Or a Pixar movie. Or any movie. Silver Linings Play Book (David O. Russell) Any good midlife crisis reading list should include some Nietzsche. After seeing this film, I thought "If you stare into the abyss, Bradley Cooper stares back." The Dark Night Rises (Christopher Nolan) Shortly after my wife left me, I would fantasize that I was Christian Bale. Thats all. Safety Not Guaranteed (Colin Trevorrow) This film was like Hot Tub Time Machine without the Hot Tub or the funny. Movies about time machines are probably not a great choice for me right now.

Top 10 Movies of 2011 from TribecaFilm.com's Web Producer. He imagined an all-Gosling movie landscape. Can you blame him? Mark Sikes Web Producer, TribecaFilm.com 1. Drive (Nicolas Winding Refn) In a tour de force performance, Ryan Gosling smashes his pretty-boy type cast to reinvent himself as a hollywood badass. The performance was so good I split up with my wife two weeks after seeing it partly due to the fact that she didn't think I had the capacity to stomp someone's skull into jagged little pieces to protect her. 2. The Tiniest Place / El Lugar Mas Pequeno (hypothetically starring Ryan Gosling) If this were a documentary about Ryan Gosling backpacking through El Salvador instead of a war movie, it would have totally been number 2 on my list. 3. Hugo (hypothetically starring Ryan Gosling) Because the only thing better than Ryan Gosling would be an animated 3D Ryan Gosling. 4. Blue Crush 2 (hypothetically starring...
