Walking around Somerset House with Bastille's frontman Dan Smith, trying a Vr headset for the first time to experience the inside of the Discovery One from 2001: A Space Odyssey, or enjoying the faces of other visitors who walk into one room only to be confronted by a giant phallus on top of a crushed car, feels a bit like bunking off school for the afternoon.

From the very first sketch — in which two African-American men on their phones began to conversationally code-switch when they get in proximity to each other — you could tell Key & Peele was not your typical sketch show. Maybe you recognized Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele from their Mad TV days, or knew the latter from his Children's Hospital appearances; maybe you simply thought, it's a new Comedy Central series, let's check it out. But by the time the show concluded its five-season run of ridiculous college-football player names, Presidential anger-translations, weepy gangsters,...

Like many who grew up watching Mystery Science Theater 3000, I have an appreciation for films that are so bad that they end up being endearing. The 1950s were the glory years for these so called B movies and as someone who has seen Plan 9 from Outer Space way too many times, I have a certain nostalgia for the time period. If you’re like me, then you’ll love the premise behind Ace Team’s The Deadly Tower of Monsters, an over-the-top action game that is full of campy movie tropes.
The Deadly Tower of Monsters plays like a pretty standard isometric shooter. The player gets to guide space explorer Dick Starspeed through dangerous areas filled with a variety of monsters from dinosaurs to robotic monkeys, and will use a variety of guns and melee weapons to make sure they come out unscathed. While players can use the right stick to aim,...

If you don't live in New York, you may have trouble understanding why a cosmetic doctor is trending on Twitter. But Dr. Jonathan Zizmor, 70, was so much more than a doctor; he was a larger-than-life figure lighting up New York City's subways with ads so campy, so kitschy, they wouldn't even fit in at a Route 66-themed diner in 1980s Denmark. On Monday, the Daily News reported that Zizmor has retired and shut down his Manhattan office. You may ask: "How did a man known for acid peels and cosmetic procedures achieve icon status?" But that's probably the wrong question.

Despite being rated PG-13 in America, Jalmari Helander‘s Big Game should target audiences between 10-15 like Dan Smith‘s Young Adult novelization of the film. Being a Finnish production—the most expensive in the country’s history—probably means it did just that abroad. Unfortunately Americans cringe at the sound of curse words reaching their children’s ears, forgetting how […]...

At a humble 20 years of age, Madeon has managed to take the music scene by storm. Most people associate the French producer with his spirited, disco-electro dance sound. However, his indie rock and pop-influenced tracks have also helped him become one of the most respected individuals in the industry. He has worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Coldplay and Dan Smith (Bastille), amongst many others, and has paved his own path to success, earning the title of “boy wonder of dance music.”
Madeon initially garnered worldwide acclaim by means of his “Pop Culture” mash-up and continued to impress with his skillful productions like “Technicolor,” and “The City.” Currently, he’s riding high on the success of his debut album, Adventure. It features the hit singles, “Pay No Mind (featuring Passion Pit),” “You’re On (featuring Kyan)” and his vocal debut, “Home.”

Adventure, the debut album for French Wunderkind Madeon, takes listeners on a colourful and whimsical musical journey. It represents three years of hard work on the producer’s part, and it certainly shows. Every single note and vocal is crafted to orchestrate a soundtrack to an imaginary world. One which is filled with good vibes, catchy pop sounds, and a lasting state of euphoria.
Kicking off the 12-track LP is a prelude titled “Isometric.” Winding scales prepare the listener for the adventure ahead, progressing towards a sneak peak of the signature Madeon break. While brief in length, it creates anticipation and a yearning for what’s to come. Following that is “You’re On,” which was also the second release from the album. It highlights the soothing R&B vocals of Kyan, which ride a 100 bpm wave of pop melodies and synths.

Though we already knew that French wunderkind Madeon was planning to release his debut album this year, we now know exactly when it will drop. Titled Adventure, the 20-year-old producer will release the disc on March 31st and along with familiar tracks like “You’re On” and “The City,” the album will bring with it exciting collaborations from artists like Bastille and Passion Pit.
“With Adventure, I wanted to capture the feeling and sensibility of my teenage years. I wanted the album to start very vibrant and pop and end with a more contemplative tone,” said Madeon.
“In making the record I both collaborated in the studio with some of my favourite musicians, and wrote and performed vocals on songs myself, two things I hadn’t really done before with my own music.”
Available to pre-order on iTunes from today, those who place an order for Adventure will receive instant...

Of all the great movies the Oscars have shunned over the years, Drive's snub in 2012 was a tough one to take.
Ryan Gosling stars as the Hollywood stuntman who moonlights as a getaway driver in his most mesmerising performance since he was a Jewish neo-Nazi in 2001's The Believer. Carey Mulligan is the struggling single mum who Gosling falls for, and a between-Breaking Bad seasons Bryan Cranston plays his mechanic partner in crime.
Nicolas Winding Refn's direction is suave and daring; he follows the blood, sweat and tears of The Driver's journey with total badassness and ends up with something in between Taxi Driver and Michael Mann's Thief... And then there's the soundtrack. What a soundtrack.
So when Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe announced that he was curating a score of new music for the film masterpiece, you can understand the anger and confusion it sparked. But...
