While you wait for V/H/S/85 later this year, V/H/S/99 has hit Blu-ray and DVD. Among the extras for the fifth installment in the found footage horror franchise is an audio commentary moderated by Bloody Disgusting’s own The Boo Crew Podcast hosts Trevor Shand and Leone D’Antonio.
All six filmmakers participate for their respective segments: Maggie Levin for “Shredding,” Johannes Roberts for “Suicide Bid,” Flying Lotus for “Ozzy’s Dungeon,” Tyler MacIntyre for “The Gawkers,” and Vanessa & Joseph Winter for “To Hell and Back.”
Here are seven things I learned from the V/H/S/99 commentary…
1. The film almost didn’t have a wraparound story.
Wraparound segments are traditionally used to make an anthology feel of one piece rather than a random collection of shorts, but the producers originally intended to forgo the framing device on V/H/S/99.
It was later decided to use the increasingly ambitious stop-motion...

Just a few weeks ago we told y'all that the next creature feature going into production was the Roger Corman produced/ Jim Wynorski helmed Piranhaconda with the announcement that former Miss USA Shandi Finnessey (Sharktopus, Dancing with the Stars) had been cast as Kimmy. Today we have huge news that Michael Madsen and Rachel Hunter are joining in on the creature feature fun. Madsen will play Dr. Lovegrove while Hunter will portray Thalia.
Rounding out the cast are Michael Swan (The Bold and the Beautiful, Dinocroc vs Supergator) as Pike, Diana Terranova (Californication, Camel Spiders) as Jamie, Terri Ivens (All My Children) as Rose and Kurt Yaeger (Dolphin Tale, Camel Spiders) as Gunner. Production is going on in Hawaii.

B-movies are synonymous with gorgeous hotties flaunting their goods either in their underwear or a dapper bikini. And Roger Corman's latest SyFy production 'Piranhaconda' is going to do nothing, it appears, to break that tradition. The water-based creature-feature has already scored another appearance from ex American beauty queen Shandi Finnessey, whom we saw last in Corman's previous effort 'Sharktopus', and now we have a milf-tastic signing in the sweet-assed shape of former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Rachel Hunter (below). One's an intense movie tough guy. The other is a former swimsuit model. The producer is a legend who most recently birthed a Sharktopus. The director is a b-movie kingpin who most recently pitted Dinocroc vs. Supergator. Michael Madsen and Rachel Hunter have now signed on to star in the Roger Corman-produced, Jim Wynorski-directed Piranhaconda. The Syfy gods are smiling tonight.
Matchflick News brings word that production of the mutant piranha/anaconda monster movie Piranhaconda is ramping up to begin production. Former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Rachel Hunter (pictured right, who will also be seen later this year in the Syfy disaster epic Miami Magma) will play the female lead, a character named "Thalia". Odds are she'll be the one to slay the carnivorous fish-reptile. Kill Bill badass Michael Madsen has been cast as a character named "Dr. Lovegrove". Roger Corman is certainly churning out the marine horror movies of late. What seems to be the whole basis for the SyFy channels existence these days is the likes of 'Mega Piranha' or 'Sharktopus' etc. The latter of course at least gave us a bikini clad peek at ex American beauty queen Shandi Finnessey (below). And the same can likely be said for Corman's newest fishy tale 'Piranhaconda'. Finnessey has signed up to join Diana Terranova in the new Jim Wynorski ('The Lusty Busty Babe-a-que', 'Cleavagefield') helmed low-budget sci-fi horror. But seriously, 'Piranhaconda'? The producers must literally sit in an office with names of fish and reptiles then pick them out of a hat to see what the most ludicrous mix 'n match movie title can be. Shandi lingerie and nude shots below, nice!...

That’s an easy answer and I don’t need to be a zoologist to answer it. Piranhaconda is the new film from legendary producer Roger Corman and cult director Jim Wynorski (Chopping Mall). “The movie revolves around the battle with a creature “with razor sharp teeth and 100 feet of constricting power (via Dread Central).” After the fan favorite Sharktopus, I’m sure SyFy and Corman are looking for another hit. Only other bit of news, is the casting of Diana Terranova from Milf.
More soon. Can’t wait to see the concept art for this one.

How can you possibly top Sharktopus? One word: Piranhaconda!
Matchflick brings the news that Dinocroc/Dinoshark/Supergator/Sharktopus producer Roger Corman has another high concept mutant up for cinematic gene splicing, a hybrid of a piranha and an anaconda. Sharktopus scribe Michael MacLean is penning the script to be directed by Jim Wynorski of Chopping Mall, Return of Swamp Thing, and Dinocroc vs. Supergator fame.
The movie revolves around the battle with a creature "with razor sharp teeth and 100 feet of constricting power."
That's all we know right now plot-wise, and when talking about a movie titled Piranhaconda, that's really all you need.
Shooting begins next month in Hawaii. The only announced cast member at this time is Diana Terranova (8212: Gacy House, Milf).
No doubt we'll see Piranhaconda slithering around Syfy sometime in the future.

All of you who keep up with my effort in getting Crocaloctopus his own movie know this only feeds the fuel to the fire for me. There's hope, case in note master of the creature feature Roger Corman will lend his producing hand to director Jim Wynorski's Piranhaconda (1/2 piranha and 1/2 anaconda)from a script by Mike MacLean (Sharktopus). Production begins next month in Hawaii with Diana Terranova attached to star. No word of which 80's or maybe 90's pop star will be cast this time. We'll have much more news on this soon!

You know what? I don’t care that the movie doesn’t start filming until February. What’s more, I don’t care that I haven’t read a plot synopsis that describes what, exactly, the picture is all about. I’m not even concerned that the cast hasn’t been selected yet, save for the lovely Diana Terranova, who is pictured below. All that really matters to me at this point is that “Sharktopus” writer Mike MacLean, veteran no-budget director Jim Wynorski, and legendary schlock producer Roger Corman have joined forces to bring the world “Piranhaconda”, a production which features a monster that comes equipped with “razor sharp teeth and 100 feet of constricting power.” God bless America.
