Word has come down the horror-loving highway that writer/director Tedi Sarafian‘s latest horror film, Sighting, has finished editing thanks to Andrew Coutts, editor for Saw VI and Saw 3D: The Final Chapter, and is now in audio post-production and seeking distribution.
The film stars Kristina Anapau (Black Swan, “True Blood”), Brendan Fletcher (Freddy vs. Jason), Alexis Cruz (Drag Me to Hell) and Ed Corbin (True Grit).
Details are on the scant side, but we can tell you that it’s about a ghost-hunting team that investigates King’s Ransom Winery in California, home to a sinister history of recurring suicides.

Big news coming out of the Toronto International Film Festival today. The lineup for the documentary slate was announced earlier and now the Midnight Madness programme has also been announced. The entire list of genre films playing are listed below and personally I think this is the most exciting in the program’s history. These 10 films close each day of the festival to thousands of hardcore fans who flock out to the Ryerson Theatre each night.
“Ravenous cinephiles will devour the roster of chillers, action thrillers and pitch-black comedies that fill this year’s slate,” said Tiff Programmer Colin Geddes in a press release. “Martial arts assassins, cops and robbers, escaped lunatics and vampire ballerinas will take over Ryerson Theatre every night at midnight, and deliver the shocking and rocking experience that our loyal audience flocks to take part in, helping make these screenings so memorable.”
Here is the list:...

After teasing the hell out of us all with several images from some of the films that are scheduled to be playing the monstrously entertaining Midnight Madness portion of the Toronto International Film Festival, three films have been announced!
The info came once again from Colin Geddes, programmer of Midnight Madness, and his Twitter account.
First up we have the much talked about Kill List.
Eight months after a disastrous job in Kiev left him physically and mentally scarred, ex-soldier turned contract killer Jay is pressured by his partner Gal into taking a new assignment. As they descend into the dark, disturbing world of the contract, Jay begins to unravel once again - his fear and paranoia sending him deep into the heart of darkness.
Next there's Doug Aarniokoski's The Day starring Shawn Ashmore, Ashley Bell, Cory Hardrict, Dominic Monaghan, Shannyn Sossamon and Andrew Coutts.

After revealed a handful of image clues late last night, the official Midnight Madness Twitter was updated tonight with an announcement of the first three films playing as part of the Toronto International Film Festival from September 8-18. So how epic will the event be? We've only got three films and already I'm excited out of my mind. The first is the absolutely fantastic Kill List, which David Harley raved about out of the SXSW Film Festival this past March. Toronto audiences are going to literally lose their sh*t over this. It's on my own person top 10 of 2011 thus far. IFC acquired the horror film about a group of demobbed soldiers turned contract killers who run up against a devil-worshipping coven. Also playing is Doug Aarniokoski's The Day, which stars Shawn Ashmore, Ashley Bell, Cory Hardrict, Dominic Monaghan, Shannyn Sossamon and Andrew Coutts.

“Saw VI” director Kevin Greutert knows a thing or two about editing together the multiple character storylines and torture-prop shots from his franchise’s past installments, having done editing work on all of them. Tagged for a Fall 2009 release to bring back Tobin Bell’s sadistic villain Jigsaw — and possibly bring his successor Detective Hoffman into the spotlight — Greutert has high hopes for the movie in the scheme of the series, but his past editing experience with the films’ standard story format give his words some extra wait when he described what editor Andrew Coutts is currently going through.
“I made Andrew take today off,” Greutert wrote on his blog Sunday. “He looks fine, but he can’t be; the guy has been continually focused on editing this movie for months now, and it’s mind-numbingly complex, and it’s not easy being face to face all day and night...

When we last updated you on the progress of Saw VI, the film had just wrapped principal photography, and while editing had already begun, post-production was about to officially begin.
Earlier today, series editor-turned-director Kevin Greutert updated his official blog with some news on the editing process, and some time off for current editor Andrew Coutts.
"I made Andrew take today off. He looks fine, but he can’t be; the guy has been continually focused on editing this movie for months now, and it’s mind-numbingly complex, and it’s not easy being face to face all day and night with people as unhappy as the folks who live in Jigsaw’s World. Andrew has focused on the last ten minutes of the film for over a week now, and to put it subtly, it’s noisy. Strangers from other companies along the hallway have been coming up to me and asking,...

Last week we pointed you in the direction of a couple of Saw VI updates (here and here) direct from the blog of series editor-turned-director Kevin Greutert. Now, the director has posted a few new entries, as the sixth chapter in the Saw saga has wrapped principal photography and moved officially into post production.
Check out the latest installment below, along with new photos from the set.
"After finishing the Saw VI shoot on Wednesday afternoon, I emerged, pale and blinking, into a new world, where the trees had suddenly budded overnight, people were sailing on Lake Ontario in the middle of the week, and I had put my first film production behind me. It was a mighty feeling, and I committed myself to a few days of fucking off and not getting anything done. Between the start of prep on January 8th and the end of shooting on May 13th,...
