West Chester, Pennsylvania — In Ryan Dunn's adopted hometown, the "Jackass" star is remembered, not for his celebrity status, but rather for his ability to remain modest despite living in the limelight.
When MTV News visited Barnaby's of America in West Chester's quaint downtown business district — the last place Dunn was seen before his fatal car crash early Monday morning — the bar's patrons praised the fallen daredevil for never letting fame go to his head.
As TVs showed a Phillies game and a guitarist strummed acoustic renditions of tunes ranging from Arcade Fire to Britney Spears, customers shared their memories of a neighbor who seemingly everyone in town had the chance to meet.

Shortly after the sad news broke that "Jackass" star Ryan Dunn had been killed in a catastrophic car accident early Monday morning in Pennsylvania, the web took notice of his Twitter feed, to which he posted a photo of himself drinking with friends just hours before the crash.
While the police report did not indicate that drinking was a factor in the horrific crash -- speed, the report said, may have been a contributor -- movie critic and prolific twitterer Roger Ebert sent out a critical message that some are calling insensitive.
"Friends don't let jackasses drink and drive," he tweeted around 3 pm Est. The message was met with a barrage of push back, including from blogger Perez Hilton's site.
"We certainly agree that driving after drinking is wrong, we think there's no reason - especially Right Now - that anyone should be pointing fingers or poking fun at a truly tragic situation,...

As a "Jackass" fan, you lived with the knowledge that you could just wake up one morning to find one of those guys dead. To a certain degree, that was why we loved them. They were willing to put their lives on the line for their art. But you didn't expect to wake to this news; that Ryan Dunn, one of the core members of the "Jackass" troupe, is dead today at the age of 34, not in the midst of some hilarious and ill-advised stunt, but as a result of a massive car crash.
TMZ reports that Dunn and another unidentified passenger were killed early this morning in a car accident in Pennsylvania. It's too early to know the cause of the crash, though in their report, TMZ included a picture Dunn had tweeted a few hours earlier of him and his friends drinking, suggesting that alcohol could have possibly played a role.

Ryan Dunn, one of the crazy sumbitches from Jackass and "Viva La Bam!", died in the early hours of June 20th in a car accident in West Chester, Pa. I naturally assumed that in between grocery cart spills, drywall explosions, and anal violations, one of the Jackass kids was bound to die sooner or later. It just seems particularly tragic that it was in something as mundane and preventable as a drunk driving accident.
Dunn always struck me as the relatively sane one of the group -- cocking his head and voicing the sheer stupidity of the antics. His hobo bearded visage would constantly be in a state of disbelief, as if to speak the audience's unspoken "This is fucking retarded. You people are out of your fucking minds." Bam Margera is the spoiled brat who recklessly spent millions earned from skateboarding stunts, but Dunn seemed grounded. For a guy...

The MTV Movie Awards could add a category for Best Soundtrack, but for a show that hands out golden popcorn trophies for Best Scared-As-s**t Performance and Biggest Badass Star, well, that would be so conventional.
That's not to say that a number of the movies being honored on this Sunday night's show didn't have seriously kick-ass soundtracks. Here's a breakdown of some of our favorites among the nominees.
"The Twilight Saga: Eclipse" (Best Movie): The folks behind the "Twilight" franchise have had few missteps in translating the vampire drama to the big screen. One of their biggest successes is in curating killer companion albums and the "Eclipse" lineup is no exception. With strong tracks from Muse, the Bravery, Black Keys, Band of Horses and Cee Lo Green, "Eclipse" is another eclectic, surefire winner.

Cky has been on the musical radar for over a decade. In the early 90s, drummer Jess Margera met guitarist and vocalist Deron Miller at East High School in West Chester. Although Cky can be classified as an alternative rock band, glimpses of metal can still be heard in their tracks, highlighting the band’s origins. And on March 22nd, fans can now play the tunes of Cky’s past with the release of B-Sides & Rarities via Mighty Loud Entertainment and Fontana/Universal. The 12-song compilations features unreleased, rare, and long out-of-print tracks from the historic past of the band, dating back to the 90s. The lead single of the album, “Afterworld,” was [...]...

The Jackass 3D soundtrack. The hapless propensity of Star Trek’s the Borg to be repeatedly thwarted in their nefarious schemes by a gaggle of middle-aged men dressed in various shades of long john may have made a mockery of their frequent proclamations of “Resistance is futile,” but there is one tribe for whom that catchphrase is not a hollow cry. Yes, while you can coldly intellectualise the Jackass gang and their boneheaded, bone-breaking antics from afar, you can sneer at how base it all is, turn your well-read, highfalutin nose up at Johnny Knoxville and his disciples, the fact is that when you watch a man sat on a portaloo being fired skywards on a bungee rocket, as happens in the trailer for Jackass 3D, there is no way to stop the laughter. Literally no way. You’d have more chance of wearing a moustache and no shirt combo...

Chicago – One man inadvertently taking a painful fall is tragic, several men doing it is “Jackass 3D.” The storied Jackass franchise, which began as TV show on MTV, has expanded into an empire, with breakout performers and a film trilogy. Johnny Knoxville is the face of Jackass, Jeff Tremaine is the director.
Johnny Knoxville hails from Tennessee, and was a struggling actor when he met Jeff Tremaine in the 1990s. Tremaine was publishing a skateboarding magazine called “Big Brother,” when he and Knoxville decided to test self defense equipment with various stunts on video. The underground classic “Number Two” video was born.
Teaming up with skateboarder Bam Margera, who was doing something similar with his Cky video series in Pennsylvania, Knoxville and Tremaine put a pilot together combining stunts from both video sources. With a little help from Tremaine friend Spike Jonez, the pilot to the newly redubbed “Jackass” series was sold to MTV.

Jackass star Bam Margera has opened up about his August detention in New Zealand, explaining a fan of his brother's rock band "roofied" his drink the night before he was scheduled to fly to Australia with the group.
The stuntman reveals someone slipped a powerful drug into his drink at the New Zealand after-show party, and by the time he got to the airport to fly to the next gig he was babbling and unable to stand.
He tells Penthouse magazine, "I just passed out... I was completely coherent , but I couldn't move my feet or hands or even talk (sic). They (brother's bandmates) were ready to call the ambulance, but instead they got a car to take me to the hotel. Then I had to go to the airport, and I was so incoherent that I got detained."
But that was only one of the crazy things that happened as Margera served as roadie and assistant on the Australasian Cky tour - he was left with the bill after the band trashed his suite at a top Perth, Australia hotel.
He adds, "Murray, the keyboarder, broke a tile that cost me $500. Then Deron (singer) got into an argument with a girl and punched a hole in the wall, and then there were burn marks on the curtains and stuff.
"So I was stuck with this big-a** bill... It was my room, but I didn't do any of it (damage)."...

When I found out the "Jackass 3D" soundtrack was not in 3D, I was like wtf? But that's all right, with the staggering amount of drugs and alcohol consumed by some of the bands Epitaph dug up here, there are sure to be some special effects just by association.
Old punk and metal acts like Boston's Gang Green, Twisted Sister, London's Cock Sparrer along with the Smut Peddlers -- who were featured on both previous "Jackass" films -- dominate the vibe of the soundtrack.
