The New Mutants has taken so long in coming out that you can hardly call it new anymore, seeing as it was shot in 2017, but at long last it’s on the verge of arriving. Last weekend, 20th Century Studios revealed a thrilling trailer and the opening minutes of the superhero flick that’ll take things in more of a psychological horror direction. Now, this extended synopsis has been released which clarifies more about the plot, as well as confirming a major X-Men connection.
Probably the most notable member of the film’s teen mutant team is Illyana Rasputin Aka Magik, as played by Anya Taylor-Joy. Comic fans will know that Illyana is the younger sister of Peter Rasputin Aka Colossus. We weren’t sure if The New Mutants was going to make this link clear or not, but the fact that it’s discussed in this synopsis seems to...

X-Men alum Daniel Cudmore is venturing into the world of another Marvel property with Helstrom. He is set to recur on the forthcoming Hulu series based on the comic book.
Helstrom follows Daimon and Ana Helstrom, the son and daughter of a mysterious and powerful serial killer. The siblings have a complicated dynamic as they track down the terrorizing worst of humanity — each with their attitude and skills. Cudmore will play Keith Spivey, a nurse at St. Teresa’s where Daimon and Ana’s mother, Victoria, has been institutionalized for the last 20 years.
In addition to the X-Men franchise, Cudmore also appeared in Twilight, another big-budget fan-driven franchise. He is repped by Red Management

Odd as it may sound, The Flash may very well now be the flagship show in the Arrowverse. When you think about it, the series’ ascension to that spot makes sense, especially when you factor in how it’s consistently The CW’s top rated show. Plus, it often charts new course for the DC TV landscape as a whole, which I’ll discuss in just a bit.
In the meantime, though, I’m going to shower the next leg in the Scarlet Speedster’s journey with much praise after being left jaded by what I thought was a parabolic fourth season. Those familiar with this site may remember how I didn’t exactly care for how our most recent trips to Central City became downright farcical at times, whereas the premiere I’ve just had the honor of screening found the proper balance achieved in earlier seasons.

As The Flash season 4 finale teased, this next run will deal with Barry Allen and Iris West coming to terms with the fact that their daughter from the future – Nora Aka Xs (Jessica Parker Kennedy) – has arrived in the present. It won’t just be weird family dynamics that cause problems in the new season, though, as Nora’s time traveling looks to have dire consequences on the timeline, too. Like father like daughter.
The promo you’ll see above teases that Xs’s jaunt back in time changes events so that Team Flash don’t defeat the latest metahuman of the week, Gridlock (X-Men‘s Daniel Cudmore), on their first attempt. According to some ominous words from Captain Singh, that means Central City could become “a war zone.” But can the Scarlet Speedster and his daughter team up and save it? The Flash season 5 is going to see a major shake-up to the status quo as the Scarlet Speedster and his wife are going to have to come to terms with the fact that Jessica Parker-Kennedy’s mystery girl is actually their daughter, Nora West-Allen, who’s returned from the future. Still, even with unexpected time-traveling family issues to deal with, one thing will still be the same in Central City – there’ll still be a criminal metahuman on the loose each and every week.
In the season premiere, suitably titled “Nora,” the latest super-powered crook causing havoc on Barry Allen’s home turf is Gridlock. And now, we have our first look at the villain in action, thanks to TV Line. As it’s been going for almost 20 years now, the X-Men franchise has changed its entire cast over the years. So, on The Flash, there have been a couple of theories of the true identity of Savitar, and the top two candidates are Eddie Thawne or Wally west. The only time we have seen Savitar without armor on was from behind, and he was played by Daniel Cudmore (the actor that played Colossus in the X-Men movies, not the Deadpool voice-over). However, this means nothing, as we have already seen the ability for a speedster to change his appearance using future tech. Being trapped in the speedforce allows one to travel through time and see visions of everything at once.

Though metal mutant, Colossus, had appeared in previous X-Men movies, fans were not that pleased with the interpretation of the character (as played by Daniel Cudmore) and hoped to see a more comic-accurate take in Tim Miller’s Deadpool.
Thankfully, that’s exactly what they got, as the all-cgi character looked and sounded a lot more like he should have, and almost stole the show from Wade Wilson.
Now, artist Alexander Lozano has posted some early Colossus concept designs to his Facebook page, and it turns out the titanium tough guy was going to look quite a bit different at one point.
Cable could be played by anyone from Mel Gibson to Keira Knightly (she does have great range), according to Deadpool himself.
“But who the heck is this guy?” you might be thinking, or maybe “Should I be excited or worried about this?” Well, I’d wager that you should be very, very hyped to see Cable on the big screen. He’s a hugely dark and mysterious character, and his inclusion will ensure that Deadpool 2 doesn’t retread any of the same ground as its predecessor.

Although Deadpool wasn’t Piotr Rasputin's, a.k.a. Colossus, first movie appearance, it was unquestionably his most important. Not only did the steel-skinned mutant get to have meaningful dialogue (and with a Russian accent, finally), but he looked the closest he’s ever been to his comic book counterpart. Although Deadpool had a smaller budget compared to most superhero movies, they were able to create a great-looking Colossus, and now there’s a video showing how that was accomplished. In this VFX breakdown from Wired, they go over the steps taken by effects studio Digital Domain to bring Deadpool ’s Colossus to life, and it was quite complicated. While X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past had Daniel Cudmore playing Colossus, Deadpool’s version of the character took five actors to create. That’s right, ...

After a huge and intense episode last week with Nyssa al Ghul and Malcolm Merlyn’s war coming to an end, this week’s Arrow focuses more heavily on Oliver’s candidacy. We get introduced to the Demolition Team, a group of baddies that actually comes from the comic books which was a surprise to me, but I’m always up for getting introduced to obscure comic characters. It was neat seeing X-Men’s Daniel Cudmore make his debut in the DC TV Universe as Jackhammer, which I don’t think had been previously announced until his appearance in the trailer last week. Even though that team came from Damien,

Tim Miller.s Deadpool is definitely set within the universe created by the larger X-Men franchise, but it doesn.t exactly pay a ton of attention to continuity. The version of Colossus that.s featured is entirely different than the one played by Daniel Cudmore in X2: X-Men United, X-Men: The Last Stand, and X-Men: Days of Future Past; and despite being played by the same actor (Ryan Reynolds), the Wade Wilson character is entirely different than the one featured in the 1980s-set X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Fans may question this decision, but writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have some pretty solid excuses for it: their desire to fix mistakes of the franchise.s past, and create a film entirely representative of its insane titular lead. I had the pleasure of chatting with Reese and Wernick about all things Deadpool late last week, and it was right at the top...

Pimping the new trailer that will drop tomorrow, a teaser celebrating Deadpool’s Trailer Eve has come our way featuring some new footage and a handy round up of the plot. Check it out below. In between opening the presents and gorging on turkey on Christmas Day, a new trailer for the highly anticipated Deadpool will sneak online. Before then, we can make do with a new T.V. spot which gives new footage of the Merc with a Mouth in action, and packs plenty of humour into just thirty seconds. On top of that, we have gotten word of an “eleventh hour” casting replacement with EW revealing that Serbian actor Stefan Kapicic has come on board to lend his voice, and provide partial motion capture, for steel skinned member of the X-Men, Colossus. Earlier today, we learned that a new voice actor had been found for Colossus in Deadpool, and now we actually get to hear him speak for the first time in a brand new TV spot for the highly anticipated movie.
Considering the fact that he was practically a mute when Daniel Cudmore played him during glorified cameo appearances in the X-Men movies, the fact that he finally has a Russian accent should come as a huge relief to fans annoyed at the lack of comic book faithfulness Bryan Singer has shown when it comes to this character over the years.

Things still aren't clear regarding how Tim Miller's "Deadpool" film adaptation will fit into the larger "X-Men" screen universe, though one element within the film that's definitely crossing over is the character of Colossus.
Played by Daniel Cudmore in the previous "X-Men" films, Andre Tricoteux now takes on the part for this film and tells Tech Times his part is more than just a simple cameo:
"I think you're going to get to see more of who Colossus is. I think people will get a better sense of who he is. But I think there's still a lot more to be told about him. Colossus had been around in the comics since the '70s, so I mean, I think you could do your own movie on him."

Despite portraying the character across numerous installments in Fox’s X-Men series, Daniel Cudmore opted to forego a role in the studio’s R-rated rendition of Deadpool as Piotr “Peter” Nikolaievitch Rasputin.
Many fans were taken aback by the casting changeover, though it wasn’t long before Fox instated Russian actor Andre Tricoteux took his place as the steely mutant, and the newcomer recently divulged some juicy details regarding the role in an interview with Tech Times.

Though many believed the Colossus we see in Deadpool will act as a departure from the character’s comic book origins, Tricoteux stated that what we see on the silver screen in 2016 will be “very true to the original character,” while also praising Tim Miller’s vision for the movie.

12 Rounds 3: Lockdown continues the long-running franchise with yet another WWE superstar given the chance to headline. This time round we have Dean Ambrose, a wrestler known for his anarchic, unstable nature who doesn’t play by the rules. And that’s essentially the same character he plays here – only this time his character, Shaw, also happens to be a cop. The only good cop in his precinct it would seem, given just how many men Shaw’s former partner turned nemesis, Burke, brings with him to take on Shaw!
Essentially another Die Hard clone (as were the first two movies), 12 Rounds 3 sees Shaw, following the death of his partner, finally return to active duty.

The towering giant known as Colossus is one of those mutant heroes who hasn.t properly received his due in the various X-Men movies. After appearing briefly in X2: X-Men United and Brett Ratner.s X-Men: The Last Stand, Colossus (as played by actor Daniel Cudmore) finally got some battle action in Bryan Singer.s X-Men: Days of Future Past. And he was offered the chance to play him again. but he passed. I did get a call for Colossus but it was CGI/stunts and not using my voice so I graciously passed. Love 2 play him in the future as an actor. daniel cudmore (@danielcudmore) August 5, 2015 That.s a Tweet from Colossus actor Daniel Cudmore, who admits that he could have returned to play the shiny, metallic mutant in Tim Miller.s Deadpool movie, but didn.t necessarily agree with how he was going to be portrayed on screen.

After a long and arduous wait, 20th Century Fox debuted two versions of the much-hyped Deadpool trailer earlier this week, sending the vying masses into a collective tailspin as fans picked apart every blood-red frame of Tim Miller’s impressive sizzle reel. Pulling no punches, the volatile mix of R-rated action and comedy went down a treat, and now Empire has debuted a play-by-play breakdown of that trailer that includes commentary from Miller himself.
Covering the appearance of Colossus, sequel ideas and those Green Lantern jibs, here the director adds context to the mayhem, and the first thing Miller touched upon was the possibility of Deadpool 2 including the villain Cable.

"We had Garrison Kane in there for a while, but in the final round of budget cuts we had to take him out, because he was a pretty expensive dude. He's got these bionic arms that change shape; he would have been a visual effect for a large part of the movie.

Production on Deadpool continues in Vancouver, with streets and bridges closed for a rather overblown action sequence. If you saw the test footage that leaked a few months ago, it’s a lot like that but in live action, bigger and even nuttier.
Amongst the characters in the scene are Deadpool himself, the superbly named Negasonic Teenage Warhead and sometime X-Man, Piotr Rasputin, aka Colossus.
As I understand it, the character never appears in his non-transformed, un-metallic mode so he’s being created with CG. A celebrity voice will be added later, I’m sure; go ahead and place your bets on who they might pick. We know that Daniel Cudmore, who played the character in the X-Men films, has been left out in the cold this time.
