Exclusive: Gillian Hormel, the American heiress to the Hormel Foods brand, has launched Partners in Kind, with author Shelly Tygielski, the founder of Pandemic of Love. Mary Aloe has been named Head of Feature Films. The intention is to use a $50 million equity fund to develop and invest in film and television projects over the next three years aimed at inspiring tangible acts of kindness and compassion.
Partners in Kind will produce, and finance projects focused on a variety of topics including women’s rights, the amplification of underserved voices, climate change and diversity. The team is actively seeking packaged films to finance, produce, executive produce and specialize in equity, mezzanine, and gap financing. Dorothy Toran will serve as the new company’s president.
Aloe is an industry veteran and independent filmmaker who has produced/financed forty-four films, and running several different film funds.

Fox has released a first look at the upcoming special, “TMZ Investigates: Lisa Marie Presley: Unending Tragedy,” which premieres Jan. 30 at 8 p.m. Pt on the network.

Exclusive: Chicken Soup for the Soul Television Group, a division of Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment, has given a green light to a pilot for original reality series Mutual Aid Brigade. Production will begin in April on the pilot, which will be co-hosted and executive produced by Emmy winner Debra Messing and author, speaker, and activist Shelly Tygielski.
Per producers, Mutual Aid Brigade allows viewers to not only participate in charitable activities on each episode but will also let them see the results of their efforts and contributions. Exclusive: CeeLo Green, the musician behind hits including Crazy, has teamed up with Lauren Grace Media to develop two television projects.
Green, who is also behind hit single F*ck You, is working with the Race in America producer on a documentary series about his life as well as a scripted drama series inspired by the story of Atlanta-based rap group Goodie Mob and its rise in the southern rap scene.
Green began his career as a member of Goodie Mob, which was part of the Dungeon Family collective, home also to Outkast. He left the band in 1999 to work on his own records, before teaming up with Danger Mouse to form Gnarls Barkley, which led to Crazy.
He was a judge and a coach on The Voice between 2011 and 2014 and also had his own series CeeLo Green’s The Good Life on TBS.

Nicks has struck an overall deal with the production company, which was set up last year by The Real Housewives of New Jersey executive producer Toran and former NBC Universal executive Farrell.
