Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the Virgin River Christmas special
After a season of heartache for Virgin River‘s Mel (Alexandra Breckenridge), who suffered a miscarriage, she got her happy ending at the end of the Part 2 holiday special when her biological father, Everett, who initially rejected her when she and Jack tracked him down, came around on Christmas. In the finale’s final seconds, he started telling her “something important” before he was cut off in a major cliffhanger.
In an interview with Deadline, Breckenridge discusses Mel’s search for her biological father and what his arrival could mean for her relationship with her surrogate dad, Doc, who is supposed to walk her down the aisle.
She also addresses the special’s cliffhanger, reveals an unexpected challenge filming the ice skating scenes and shares her hopes for Mel and Jack’s storyline in Season 6 of the Netflix romantic drama.

What could possibly go wrong in a movie where a grieving lawman brings home an AI robot who looks exactly like his dead wife? Pretty much everything, if the director is someone like James Bird and the movie is something like Wifelike. The movie, which has just dropped on Netflix, is not only terrible in terms of its technical craft; it is extremely problematic as well. Barring the performance of its lead actress, Elena Kampouris, nothing can save this atrocity. In case you have been unfortunate enough to go through this confusing mess of a movie, here’s an explainer for you.
Spoilers Ahead
Plot Synopsis: What Happens in the Movie?
It is hard to make any sense out of a screenplay that seems like it was written by a toddler but let us just get it over with. In the near future, a company named Wifelike is making these AI robots,...

What a nailbiter!
One could envision a wildfire hitting Virgin River would be intense beyond measure, bringing all sorts of panic, drama, and heroic moments.
And Virgin River Season 5 Episode 5 didn't fall short on that in the least, with a gripping installment ending in a cliffhanger with a girl on the edge of her seat.
Wildfires are terrifying, and we've unfortunately seen how destructive they can be far more frequently these days, so the notion of one touching down on the fictional ground of Virgin River elicited so many feelings.
As expected, heroes emerged, and the community is coming together in a way one anticipates.
The entire hour is devoted to the increasing danger of a fire spreading and destroying everything we love and hold dear about this small town.
A sense of urgency builds throughout the hour, as it starts with a casual awareness and caution about the fire,...

Life is dealing the folks of Virgin River with heartwarming and heartbreaking cards.
And frankly, we wouldn't have it any other way, as Virgin River Season 5 Episode 4 served as a bit of calm before the storm, or in this case, before the wildfire.
The hour served as a reminder that we must take the bad with the good in life and can't take anything for granted.
It made it a perfect precursor for what's to come when the wildfires ravage through this small town we know and love.
Do you know what's winsome? A collection of women in their 60s and older reflecting on life and figuring out what their new normal is.
There is often so much discourse surrounding women and aging, and the ladies of Virgin River welcome the concept of aging and the discussions surrounding it and show how beautiful it is.
It also hits you how...

John Cameron Mitchell is in the midst of his 60th-birthday festival — yes, festival — when I call him to discuss his latest cameo: a singing, dancing parrot on the latest episode of Yellowjackets. “I love 60,” he says. “It’s the new 40.” And if his role as a cigar-chomping, silk-robe-wearing African grey is any indication, it’s also another glorious decade in Mitchell’s long career of being up for anything.

We need the next season Now!
While Virgin River Season 4 got off to a slow start, proving that they didn't need those additional two installments if things would meander, the back half of the season has been incredibly strong.
And the events of Virgin River Season 4 Episode 12 are enough to have us reeling and counting down the days until we can return to this beloved couple, town, and all of its delicious drama!
How are we doing, Mel and Jack 'shippers? Mel Said Yes!
We got the perfect engagement; having it at the airstream was romantic. From the lighting to the view, it was downright majestic.
And we got the desired results about the baby, with Jack as the father, thank the high heavens. We also confirmed what some of us suspected this whole time -- that Jack isn't the father of Charmaine's twins. However, that still made for an absolutely bonkers cliffhanger.

Where are we? “Mustachioed Baby Court,” a small cul-de-sac notable for a defaced billboard that is a quirky local point of pride. Where is that? France

, definitely. More clearly than that, well…it’s in the residential area of some city. That’s all we need to know.
When are we? A tombstone tells us this is 1932 – time will move forward from there, but it will all seem quietly interwar, entirely on this street and away from anything of the wider world.
And what kind of story is this? It’s not far from magical realism, actually. A small community, with quirky personalities and rituals, narrated by a religious statue, about something impossible that the community believed in enough to make it something like real.
