With a title like Nightmare on 34th Street, I was initially hoping for a horror take on the classic Christmas story Miracle on 34th Street but I soon realised this wasn’t the case as this started shaping up as a horror anthology. But that’s okay. A horror anthology with some loose connections on that story could be pretty good too. But this wasn’t the case either. They’ve just chucked that kind of Christmas-sounding title on this Christmas horror anthology.
After the initial disappointment, I was ready to enjoy the movie though. Horror anthologies are a subgenre I generally enjoy but Nightmare on 34th Street is, at best, a mixed bag.
Initially, what turned out to be my favourite segment I didn’t actually like at first because...

New rule: you are not allowed to define yourself as a female-led film if you are using the females in your film to make young women feel shite about themselves. If the females leading your film are Trojan horses for an army of innuendo, slut-shaming and fat jokes they can do one.
The average UK dress size is 16, meaning that a number of the intended audience for British rom-com Me, Myself and Di will be curvy like its protagonist Janet. Janet loves ‘80s music, her Bhangra class and Heat magazine, she’s a happy soul who is content with her lot despite daydreams of finding her soulmate. It seems odd then that Me, Myself and Di devotes so much runtime to tearing Janet down.
Janet (Katy Clayton) has had a pretty rotten thirtieth birthday right up until the moment she wins big at the local Working Men’s Club; a...

Me, Myself & Di is a charming new British comedy that is well worth giving a go. To mark its release, we had the pleasure in speaking to its three leading roles, speaking to model-turned-actress Lucy Pinder, newcomer Katy Clayton, and James Lance.
We discussed with all three performers the appeal of this movie, and just how much fun was had making the film. Pinder speaks about her childhood holidays, and working with the wonderful Clayton. She also talks about her career, and inclination to make more movies – and if she feels she has to work doubly hard to impress. Meanwhile Clayton tells us the funny story of how she actually auditioned for a much smaller role in the film, and talks about her own background in performance – and how creativity runs through her entire family.
And finally with Lance we speak about the value in just enjoying yourself while doing this job,...

What was probably intended as an affectionate social satire just comes across as a snide mickey-take of its working-class characters
There’s nothing quite so naff and depressing as a British comedy misfire, and Me, Myself and Di is the real deal: a miserably unfunny romcom about Bolton’s answer to Bridget Jones. Her name is Janet Brown (Katy Clayton), and she is a chirpy 30-year-old virgin who works in a supermarket stacking shelves. Janet is devastated when an internet date stands her up: “He took one look at me and ran off because I’m fat and ugly,” she sobs. “You’re not ugly,” quips her glam best friend Diana (Lucy Pinder), always ready to knock Janet’s self-confidence. The world lays indignities upon Janet and then film throws on some more. The character is so thinly written that there’s little for Clayton to do other than perform...

When it comes to low-budget British movies one of the easiest to create seems to be the gangster movie and I’ll admit it that when I got Age of Kill to watch that is exactly what I expected. Thankfully what I found instead was an action movie that takes the subject of terrorism in London and adds a little twist.
Sam Blake (Martin Kemp) is a black ops sniper who finds himself blackmailed into killing six seemingly random people in six hours. If he fails this or tries to contact the police or his bosses his daughter will be killed. As he performs the kills with the police in close pursuit the...

Opinions are like genitals. Everyone has them but we neither want nor need people to start parading theirs around in public for all to see. If we want to see them, we’ll actively search for them. This school of thought doesn’t apply to a lot of people including protestors, religious zealots, and most recently the UK feminist groups UK Feminista and Object who are attempting to bring us one step closer to a recreation of 1984 by spearheading a new campaign to ban lads’ mags that is aptly titled “Lose The Lads’ Mags”.
It would be supremely unfair of me to instantly dismiss these groups as whining idiots because in some areas, they do make a good point. As an earnest supporter of healthy body image, I can understand the concerns of some people about skinny bikini-clad women in the media not helping young girls to be comfortable in their own skin.

Jonathan Glendenning's ('13hrs') new horror-comedy 'Strippers vs. Werewolves' has unleashed some new assets to those Shock Till You Drop fellas in the form of some new teaser art and 3 new stills. The new teaser (although quite low res) features a damn hot trio of sexy weapon-wielding hotties featuring ex-soap stars Ali Bastian (below) and Adele Silva in flesh-revealing glory. Back last June we revealed the new 'Strippers vs. Werewolves' UK teaser quad which featured former 'Hollyoaks' star Ali Bastian in some hot gun-toting lingerie action. But now a new pic from the production has appeared online over at the Croydon Guardian. It reveals a sexy stripper dressed up for some reason as red riding hood and about to be restrained by an onlooking werewolf. The production, currently shooting in Croydon, also sees legendary horror actor Robert Englund ('A Nightmare on Elm Street') star in his first British production. The new horror comedy from director Jonathan Glendenning ('13hrs') co-stars Barbara Nedeljakova 'Hostel', big-breasted glamour model Lucy Pinder, Adele Silva, Coralie Rose, Martin Compston, Billy Murray, Alan Ford, scream queen Sarah Douglas and Nick Nevern. Now this is the tits. An all-new poster, a far better one at that, for Strippers vs. Werewolves has been released for director Jonathan Glendenning, and it’s funky enough to appreciate. But deep down, don’t you feel as if the girl on the poster is still too clothed? Show ya money-maker!
Who is the sexy Ali Bastian (who plays stripper Danni) pointing her shotgun at? Why none other than Martin Kemp of course – who plays strip-club punter Mickey – who just happens to be a werewolf.
Centered around Vixens, a London strip-club, Strippers Vs Werewolves has an all-star cast including Adele Silva, Billy Murray, Barbara Nedeljekova, Ali Bastian, Lucy Pinder, Martin Compston, Robert Englund, Sarah Douglas and Alan Ford.

It's good to see the promotional train for Strippers vs. Werewolves back on track after the last bit of truly wretched teaser art. While this one doesn't show any ass, it's light years better than everything else we've seen.

Last month a first look teaser was revealed for new British horror comedy 'Strippers Vs Werewolves'. It wasn't all that, but hopefully today those ill feelings of disappointment will be healed slightly by the emergence of a new UK quad poster for the Jonathan Glendenning ('13hrs') helmed project. With a title such as that as well you should expect a nice selection of British babes which are handed to you on a plate. They include the likes of ex-soap star Adele Silva and former 'Hollyoaks' star Ali Bastian (featured being a bad-ass on the poster below in some sweet lingerie). Topless 'Hostel' hottie Barbara Nedeljakova also makes an appearance along with the ample breasted glamour model Lucy Pinder. Coralie Rose, Martin Compston, Billy Murray, Alan Ford, Sarah Douglas and Nick Nevern all co-star. Even legendary horror actor Robert Englund ('A Nightmare on Elm Street') pops up!

It may not be the only British comedy horror werewolf flick set to arrive at some point in the future but new Ecosse Films production (those responsible for last year's Christopher Smith horror flick 'Black Death') entitled 'Love Bite' is already being mentioned about at this week's Cannes festival. The new 'teen' orientated comedy/horror flick is to be helmed by Andy de Emmony (who has helmed a whole host of Brit TV dramas and comedy series') all from a script penned by duo Ronan Blaney and Cris Cole. Of course this isn't the only werewolf flick to come out of the UK this year as we also have 'Strippers vs Werewolves' starring Adele Silva (below) and Lucy Pinder! Check out the plot details for 'Love Bite' below and let battle commence....
