When James Gunn and Peter Safran revitalized the Dceu, rebranding it as the Dcu, it signaled a major overhaul in casting. Ben Affleck’s departure from the role of Batman was no secret, and Robert Pattinson’s portrayal, while acclaimed, existed within the realm of Elseworlds, separate from the primary cinematic universe.
With nearly the entire “Superman” cast being replaced, speculation now turns to the next Batman actor. Three prominent contenders have emerged, each eager for the coveted role.
1. Alan Ritchson
Ritchson didn’t hide his desire to portray Batman; he’s been vocal about it, even expressing a willingness to shout it from rooftops. With the physique and voice suited for the role, he’s garnered a sizable fanbase eager to support his candidacy. For Ritchson, taking on the mantle of The Dark Knight would be a prestigious honor, given Batman’s intellect, array of gadgets, and supercars. As...

When James Gunn & Peter Safran rebooted Dceu and renamed it into Dcu we knew that pretty much most of the cast would be replaced. Ben Affleck also made it quite clear that he is not interested in playing Batman further and Robert Pattison’s Batman was part of the Elseworlds, meaning that he was never canon to the primary cinematic universe.
Now with pretty much 99 % of ‘Superman’ cast, the rumors have it that Batman is the next in line to be cast, and we have three contenders who are practically begging to be cast.
1. Alan Ritchson
Ritchson wasn’t exactly coy about wanting to play Batman, he recently quite literally told us that he is willing to shout it from the rooftops. Ritchson has the physique (and the voice) to play him, and he has quite a large fanbase willing to petition for him. Ritchson said it would be quite...

Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming series based on James Patterson’s Alex Cross novels is being renewed for Season 2, Variety has learned from sources.
The show, which stars Aldis Hodge as Cross, has yet to debut its first season or even set a premiere date. But according to sources, Amazon was impressed enough with what they have seen from the first season to greenlight the second and begin casting. Jeanine Mason has reportedly already been cast in Season 2.
Reps for Amazon declined to comment.
If “Cross” proves to be popular, it would be the latest successful Amazon series based on a long-running novel character. The company found themselves with a massive hit on their hands courtesy of “Reacher” starring Alan Ritchson, based on the Jack Reacher novels written by Lee Child. Likewise, Amazon’s longest-running series to date was the cop drama “Bosch,” based on the Harry Bosch novels written by Michael Connelly.

As soon as James Gunn and Peter Safran took over Dceu and rebooted it into Dcu we knew we were going to get a new Batman movie, ‘The Brave and the Bold.’ The biggest question on everyone’s mind is however, who is going to take over the role of Bruce Wayne, as it’s one of the most iconic roles aspiring actors can play in the genre.
Several names come to mind as favorite fan castings, most notably Alan Ritchson, who voiced his desire to play the character several times, quite loudly, and Jensen Ackles.
Jensen Ackles was picked for the most recent fan-made concept trailer to don the mantle of the Dark Knight alongside Timothee Chalamet as Robin. Ackles already voices the character in ‘Tomorowverse’ and he expressed his wish to play the live-action version of the character as well. The trailer shows how two popular actors could...

When Black Adam finally brought Henry Cavill back, fans were ecstatic to see Dceu’s Superman return, but unfortunately, the movie itself failed to make it big at the box office. Shortly after, Wbd hired James Gunn and Peter Safran to salvage the DC brand, which led to the duo scrapping the struggling Dceu in favor of a fresh start.
While many would agree DC desperately needed this reboot, some fans were disheartened following Henry Cavill’s exit, as Gunn opted for a younger actor to play Dcu’s version of Clark Kent. As a result, some started accusing the new DC head of screwing over Cavill, and Gunn finally broke his silence on the matter.

Reacher is, without a doubt, one of Amazon’s biggest assets. This action thriller series has been popular for a while now, and we already know that a third season, which will end up adapting Persuader, Lee Child’s seventh book in the thrilling Jack Reacher series, is currently being filmed in Toronto. And while we’re getting hyped up for the premiere, we have received some great set photos that show Alan Ritchson, the main actor in the series, back in action as one of our favorite TV heroes.
A release date for Season 3 has not been given yet, but seeing that the series is still being filmed, we probably won’t see it before late 2024, but a 2025 release date is much more likely, based on the timeline. Now that we have said this, let us see this great set of photos.

Guy Ritchie is one of the most recognizable British auteurs, thanks to his bold narratives that are a kind of Quentin Tarantino-esque stories framed by British humor and set in a British working-class and criminal milieu.
However, despite his colossal contribution to pop culture, which rivals that of the aforementioned Tarantino, Guy Ritchie's films are far from box office success. While many of his films have indeed made huge sums of money at the worldwide box office, there are also plenty of absolute commercial failures despite warm reviews from audiences, such as RocknRolla, The Man from U.N.C.L.E. and the recent The Covenant.
The same seems to be the case with Ritchie's new big screen project, the feature length film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Although it was released less than a week ago, the box office numbers are far from reassuring, but the movie...

Guy Ritchie has directed everything from low-budget hits like the crime caper "Snatch" to the $1 billion monster hit that was 2019's live-action "Aladdin" remake. But the director has also been behind some pretty big misfires, most notably 2017's "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword." Ritchie has been on a tear lately though, releasing three movies in theaters over the last 13 months. Unfortunately for the filmmaker and all involved, every single one of those movies has disappointed -- if not outright flopped -- at the box office.
This past weekend saw the release of "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare" in theaters in the U.S. Released by Lionsgate, the World War II film took in just $8.9 million, placing fourth on the charts behind "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" ($9.5 million), which was in its fourth weekend. Before he was Jack Reacher, Alan Ritchson was the tough-talking linebacker Kevin “Thad” Castle on the football comedy Blue Mountain State, a raunchy and hilarious mash-up of Friday Night Lights and American Pie. If you missed out on that cult favorite sports series during its original run, well, you’re in luck: Not only is it already available to stream for free with ads on services like Freevee, Tubi, and Plex, but it’s going to be available to stream uninterrupted (again) on Netflix starting Wednesday, May 1, five years after it was suddenly removed from the streamer’s library. Blue Mountain State ran for three seasons on Spike TV (now Paramount) and centered on a rather ridiculous fictional Midwest football team whose football team, the “Mountain Goats,” was full of ne’erdowellers who were obsessed with hard partying. While the worldwide famous franchise about a British charismatic spy is looking for yet another right candidate to bring the famous character back to the screens, the US has already got James Bond’s American version — not officially.
Though Alan Ritchson’s Reacher definitely gives a vibe very different from the one we usually expect from the Bondiana, the actor thinks that his character is some kind of James Bond — and, what’s more, his perfected version.

Guy Ritchie is indeed one of the most commended filmmakers in Hollywood, who has given some of the most cinematic masterpieces to audiences worldwide. But even he has one notorious habit that could lead the actors working on his projects to some serious trouble, just like what Eiza González almost ended up in recently while working on The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare with him.

This infamous habit is none other than his rule of thumb, which is basically to prepare to be unprepared while shooting, considering all the changes he makes on the spot with the dialogue and stuff. However, fortunately, González managed to escape the trouble while shooting this Henry Cavill-starrer through only one clever move she took while working on her accent for the film.

Henry Cavill’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has been receiving mixed to positive reviews from critics, but the box office numbers appear very weak for the movie made on a $60 million budget. The trailer for Deadpool & Wolverne’s second trailer was just posted hours ago by Ryan Reynolds. Although this might be the pretty first time that a trailer for a trailer has been released, fans are hardly surprised since it is Reynolds we are talking about. As the less than 40-second clip went viral, so did Reynolds’s sweet caption with it.
Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson in Deadpool & Wolverine
Stating that it has been seven years of him trying to get Wolverine with Deadpool, the efforts that Reynolds put into that dream casting would certainly have been gigantic. And they are nothing compared to Alan Ritchson’s Batman Campaign.

Reacher star Alan Ritchson recently got to star in Guy Ritchie’s spy comedy The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. The actor played the role of a real-life Danish soldier Anders Lassen, who was part of the special operatives executive, which was started by Winston Churchill during World War II. The film also starred Henry Cavill and Henry Golding.
Ritchson reportedly had a hand in designing and pitching some of the action sequences in the film. He mentioned how he and his stuntman Ryan Tarran would come up with interesting ideas based on the preparation he had done for the character, and pitch it to Ritchie. The actor specified one risky scene, for which he got his team to film for Ritchie to understand.

Henry Cavill’s role as Nazi-killing commando soldier, Major Gus March-Phillips in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare required one unique training for his role. While Cavill killed it in the gunfire and action scenes acting like a madman with his tongue out, it was his twirly stylish mustache that needed training. It appears that the mustache was a more difficult job than executing the action scenes.

Alan Ritchson has become a favorite of comic book fans ever since he broke into the scene with his incredible Jack Reacher portrayal in the hit Prime Video series. Not only is the actor incredibly humble and down-to-earth, but it is his physicality that draws a lot of fans.

Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is now playing in theaters throughout the United States. However, the ensemble action romp, starring Henry Cavill, Alex Pettyfer, Eiza González, Alan Ritchson, Babs Olusanmokun, and Cary Elwes, is currently absent from UK and Canadian theaters. Lionsgate distributes The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare domestically. At the same time, Prime Video inked an eight-figure deal for international rights across Europe, Latin America, Anz, Canada, South Africa, India, and pan-Asian PayTV. So, what’s the deal with The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare’s international availability? Why won’t The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare get a theatrical release in these territories?
According to Yahoo!, The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare won’t screen in UK cinemas. Instead, the film will stream on Prime Video in territories like the United Kingdom and Canada, robbing certain areas of the big screen experience. It’s safe to assume that...

With the sole exception of Zack Snyder, there might not be a director currently working who is more fascinated by telling stories about tough guys committing violent acts while barely breaking a sweat more than Guy Ritchie. From his earliest works like "Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels" and "Snatch" all the way to "The Gentlemen", "The Covenant," and "Wrath of Man," the British filmmaker has been all too happy to stay in his lane and pump out his unique brand of action movie year in and year out. This week's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare," however, might as well be the poster child for Ritchie's overriding obsession.

Henry Cavill is undoubtedly one of the greatest and most versatile actors in Hollywood, who has a career spanning from thrillers to action flicks and even television projects. While he is known for his prolific performance, improvisation isn’t something that we expect from Cavill. But you’ll be shocked to know how the actor improvised a couple of gleefully bloody scenes in Guy Ritchie’s latest offering.
Henry Cavill in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare
Appearing in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, a story based on secret, real-life WWII commandos, Henry Cavill delivered a few Nazi-killing sequences where he is seen sticking his tongue out like a rock star, out of sheer happiness, every time he kills a German soldier. Well, that was apparently improvised by Guy Ritchie and Cavill.

It’s a close contest at the domestic box office, with the opening day gross of Universal’s ballerina vampire film “Abigail” leading Lionsgate’s fellow new release “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” and the second frame of A24’s dystopian thriller “Civil War.”
“Abigail” earned $4 million from 3,384 theaters across its opening day and preview screenings, making it the top performer of the weekend so far. But, after factoring out the $1 million that the horror film earned from screenings before Friday, it comes up behind A24’s “Civil War,” which was actually the top grosser for April 19, taking in roughly $3.3 million.
Meanwhile, Lionsgate’s “The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare” fired off about $3.7 million from 2,845 locations — a figure that includes $1.45 million across earlier preview screenings. All three films are eyeing weekend grosses in the low-teens or high-single-digits.

Chicago – “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare” wants to be “Inglourious Basterds” in the worst way … but Henry Cavill is no Brad Pitt, and Guy Ritchie is no Quentin Tarantino. It’s a featherweight romp about British rogues killing Nazis that’s arch, witty, and completely forgettable. It goes down easy enough, but seems unlikely to inspire the love and devotion it so clearly craves.
Rating: 3.0/5.0
The film has a toehold’s basis in fact, focusing on declassified details of a secret group of colorful agents embarking on black ops for Prime Minister Winston Churchhill during World War II. Henry Cavill stars as the dashing leader of the group who are there to kill Nazis and look good doing it. He’s a handsome and well educated military man (and spy) who doesn’t play by anyone’s rules but his own, yet is devoted to King and Country all the same.

The new spy thriller set during World War II entitled The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare has the unique distinction of being a somewhat true account of not only a pivotal mission during the campaign, but also of the germination of the character of James Bond – to a certain extent at least.
Ostensibly based on true events documented in recently declassified British War Department documents, the film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare imparts the tale of an organization created during World War II under the guidance of Prime Minister Winston Chruchill. This “top-secret” unit is comprised of a group of men (and one woman) brought together by Gus March-Phillips (Henry Cavill) to undertake an audacious mission that could alter the course of the war against the Nazis.
Phillips is recruited for this mission by Brigadier Gubbins (Cary Elwes) – otherwise known as “M” – and his second in command Ian Fleming (Freddie Fox...

What do "Saving Private Ryan," "Dunkirk," and "Oppenheimer" -- among countless other World War II movies -- all have in common? Beyond the obviousness of their shared genre space, it's actually even simpler than that. None of these films would've been possible without one common denominator: the true, real-life heroics that ultimately inspired this year's "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare." Based on author Damien Lewis' "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare: How Churchill's Secret Warriors Set Europe Ablaze and Gave Birth to Modern Black Ops," the covert op undertaken by a select group of fearless individuals from all different walks of life only became known to the general public relatively recently. Files kept by the British War Department were finally declassified barely a decade ago and, as it turns out, that was for good reason. This might have been one of the most crucial undertakings of the entire conflict ... even if...

If you've seen the trailers for Guy Ritchie's new movie "The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare," there's one zany aspect that likely stood out to you. The historically-based action flick seems to be having fun with its Nazi-killing sequences, so much so that Henry Cavill's hero can be seen sticking his tongue out like a rock star on stage every time he kills a German soldier. It's a weird, memorable detail that was improvised on the spot by Ritchie and Cavill, according to the latter's new interview with Variety.
"It was a co-improvisation between Guy and myself," the actor explained when speaking to Variety at the film's premiere this week. Apparently, it came about when the writer-director, presumably having shot a few takes the expected way, started encouraging Cavill to get a bit wild. "Guy said, 'I want you to have more fun with it. Stick your tongue out or something,...

Zack Snyder built this gritty realistic superhero world for his version of Dceu. Starting with Man of Steel in 2013, the Watchmen director helmed three successful movies while planning several other dropped projects. One common criticism he received for Batman v Superman was that he did not properly flesh out solo superhero stories before going for an ensemble film. However, Snyder clarified why he chose to do the team-up film.

With hindsight being 20/20 and all, it's ironic that the cultural nickname for World War I was "The Great War," given the existence of World War II. While no war in history has ever been "great" in the truest sense of the word, WWII's seemingly evergreen impact on just about every aspect of modern life, not to mention art, makes it the clear cultural victor. To wit, not only are films, television shows, books, and other works related to that war being produced today, but they remain incredibly popular — after all, a WWII-set movie just won Best Picture at this year's Oscars.
What's perhaps extra wild is that not only is WWII-themed art still viable, but there are corners of the war's history that remain largely unexplored. One of these corners is Operation Postmaster, the British special operation undertaken on...

Director Guy Ritchie’s The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is loosely based on a true story. During World War II, Nazi U-boats are slowly cutting off the UK from desperately needed supplies and troops from the United States. As Prime Minister Winston Churchill faces increasing pressure to surrender to Adolf Hitler, he seeks a rather unique solution.
Churchill wants to secretly strike a West African outpost that supplies the Nazi submarines with critical supplies. Cut off their supply chain, and you can end Nazi dominance over the Atlantic Ocean. But to conduct an unauthorized military strike, he needs an unauthorized strike team.
Churchill and his loyal men, Brigadier Gubbins and Ian Fleming, recruit Gus March-Phillips out of prison to lead the strike. The rebellious, uncouth, and possibly mad Gus agrees to the secret mission, provided he can recruit his own team.
He assembles a group of rogues, misfits, and murderers...

Once upon a time … in war-torn London, Winston Churchill found himself face to face with the potential end of England as he knew it. The Blitz was in full effect. Henry Cavill may not be reprising his role as the Man of Steel anytime soon, but fans don’t need to burst into tears for him. The Hollywood Reporter discovered that the actor was paid a whopping $250,000 ‘each’ for his brief appearances in Black Adam and The Flash.
Yes, that’s what it is—a quarter of a million dollars for just a few minutes of screen time. Not bad for a day’s work, right? While some may feel sorry for Cavill for not getting the chance to star in James Gunn’s 2025 Superman release, it’s abundantly clear that the actor isn’t hurting for cash. Also, compared to Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot, the Immortals actor received a higher salary for his brief cameos in other DC flicks.

Cavill was a hot commodity at Warner Bros. Pictures before Gunn and Safran were named co-CEOs of DC Studios.

Guy Ritchie is back with The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. Based on what is allegedly the first “Black Ops” mission it’s a variation on The Dirty Dozen and all the knock-offs that followed, right up to and including Inglourious Basterds.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare opens with a boat having just been boarded by several members of the German Navy. As they pour gasoline over the deck, they tell its occupants they have the choice of staying on board and burning to death, or jumping overboard and drowning. For some reason, however, they don’t seem very worried.
From there we jump back 25 days, to Churchill watching newsreel footage about Hitler’s U-boats keeping American troops from entering the war.

If you haven’t been blown away by a comic book movie in years, you’re not alone. Whether it’s the so-called superhero fatigue or the studios just not giving their all to deliver compelling stories or the seemingly endless stream of them being pumped out, they are – by and large – lacking in what made them so entertaining to begin with. But now we have one man who wants to change the industry. And that man is Jack Reacher – well, Alan Ritchson.
Alan Ritchson, like many of us, is bored with superhero movies, particularly calling out Marvel, saying, “Like everybody else, I sit back and yawn at Marvel movies regurgitating comic book stories that we’ve seen a thousand times because they’re the only way studios feel like they can make money.” But he hopes he can be part of a better future, adding, “I want to be...
