Perth’s Mix94.5Fm will be thankful it made it to 100 radio survey wins in the last results as 96Fm has beaten it in the latest Neilsen report, released today.
Independent station 96Fm leaped to victory from third place in the previous survey, to 13.3% share, from 11.7%.
Southern Cross Austere’s Mix still put in a good showing however with a climb from 12.8% to 13.2% listenership.
Elsewhere in the commercial FM market, Mix94.5Fm’s Sca stablemate 92.9 slid from 12.1% to 11.4% to third place, followed by dmg Radio Australia’s Nova93.7 on 11%.
Contrary to the overall win, the battle for breakfast went Mix94.5′s way with team Fred, Lisa & Capt. Paul climbing a further 1.6 points from 11.5% to 13.1%. It was a gallant effort by 96fm’s Blackers, Carmen & Fitzi which jumped up 2.9 points from 9.5% to 12.4% to finish in second place after last survey’s fourth.
On Am, the ABC720 was the clear winner on...

It was Ladies Night last night at Austin Film Festival. The most anticipated film of the festival, Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan, played to a packed house with several people giving standing ovations when the credits rolled, despite no guests being in attendance.
Well, that's not entirely true. Ballet Austin's Artistic Director Stephen Mills helped Aff Film Program Director Kelly Williams introduce the film about a ballerina living her dream as a nightmare. Black Swan is a powerful, haunting and incredibly beautiful film won the hearts of the entire audience, critics and fans alike. If you enjoyed the classic film The Red Shoes, you are going to love Black Swan.
