The five-day-long North East India Film Festival (Neiff 2024) concluded at the Palace Auditorium of the Manipur State Film Development Society in Imphal on Thursday. Speaking at the valedictory function, chief guest M. Joy Singh, Commissioner of the Information and Public Relations Department, said that the festival has been a journey into the hearts of human experience where filmmakers from diverse backgrounds in the northeast region shared their unique perspectives and creativities transcending boundaries.
While appreciating the efforts of the organisers, he thanked the participating filmmakers who delighted the viewers with their well-crafted cinematic expressions for the past five days.
Garo film (Meghalaya) ‘Rapture’ directed by Dominic Sangma bagged the best film award at the festival, while the best director award was won by Haobam Paban Kumar for the Manipuri film ‘Joseph’s Son’.

The International Indian Film Academy today announced the winners of the technical categories of India’s most prestigious international awards, The International Indian Film Awards.
The Iifa Rocks and Technical Awards are set to take place on the 5th of June in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This year’s Videocon D2H Iifa Weekend celebrations are slated for the first weekend of June, from the 5th – 7th in Kuala Lumpur.

The second night of the Videocon d2h Iifa Weekend saw Grey Goose Presents Iifa Rocks, a night of music, dance and fashion themed to ‘The Magic of the Movies’.
The star-studded evening was a brilliant blend of musical performances by Pritam, Benny Dayal and Raghav Sachar among others followed by the Grey Goose fashion show.
Hosts for the night Boman Irani and Vir Das looked dapper while promoting their upcoming film, Santa Banta. Their brilliant camaraderie and comic timing was manifested in the easy, effortless delivery of well-executed jokes. They brought the evening alive as they interacted with some of Bollywood’s biggest stars on stage.
