Emil Kovac (Travolta) is a former Scorpions soldier based in Serbia on the assignment of his career: find and capture Colonel Benjamin Ford (De Niro). Wanted for being a former Nato operative, Ford has now retired from war and lives a reclusive lifestyle in the Appalachian mountains. Determined to finish what his people started, Kovac poses as a friendly European tourist and tracks Ford to his secret hideaway. As Kovac gets all the evidence he needs, he pursues Ford in a brutal game of cat and mouse, intent on bringing him to justice.
A film starring Robert De Niro and John Travolta going straight to DVD and Blu-ray? That can’t be right surely? Well if it’s The Killing Season it can.

Title: Killing Season Millennium Entertainment Director: Mark Steven Johnson Screenwriter: Evan Daugherty Cast: Robert DeNiro, John Travolta, Milo Ventimiglia, Elizabeth Olin Screened at: AMC 34th St., NYC, 7/10/13 Opens: July 12, 2013 “Killing Season”’s scripter Evan Daugherty throws in a slightly off-color joke, the punch line of which has a lot to do with this movie’s moral. Featuring John Travolta working for the first time ever with Robert DeNiro, the shtick goes like this: Benjamin Ford (Robert DeNiro) speaking to Emil Kovac (John Travolta) “When the war ended I went to confession and said, Father, Bless me for I have sinned. During the war I took in a woman and [ Read More ]

The second film poster has arrived for Killing Season showing John Travolta armed with bow and arrow, vs. Robert De Niro armed with what looks like an M16. The film which also includes Milo Ventimiglia, Elizabeth Olin, Diana Lyubenova and Kalin Sarmenov, hits theaters via Millennium Entertainment on July 12th. Deep in the Appalachian Mountains, a reclusive American military veteran (Robert De Niro) and a European tourist (John Travolta) strike up an unlikely friendship. But when the tourist's true intentions come to light, what follows is a tense battle across some of America’s most forbidding landscape proving the old adage: the purest form of war is one-on-one.

Robert De Niro as an American war veteran. John Travolta as a Serbian war veteran with a funny beard. Both alone in the woods as they try to kill each other and settle old scores. Sold, or so you’d think. This trailer for Killing Season unfortunately doesn’t do much to sell the film. In fact if it weren’t for the cast, I’d be convinced that this was a direct-to-dvd affair. It doesn’t really offer up much reason as to why these actors even signed on. Who knows though, this could end up being a fun flick. Oh who am I kidding, it won’t.

John Travolta vs. Robert DeNiro. Who ya got? Well, that depends on who is the good guy and who is the bad guy in “Daredevil” and “Ghost Rider” director Mark Steven Johnson’s latest drama. We don’t quite know an answer to that, of course, at least not until the trailer comes out. No word on when that will happen, which is odd since the movie is due next month. Until then, check out the first poster for the movie below, check it outers.
