When Godzilla vs. Kong premiered in 2021, it was long removed from the more suspense-filled, grounded, gritty Godzilla of 2014. After Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla: King of the Monsters, the series has fully leaned into the sci-fi cheese and carnage that we dreamt of as kids, complete with spaceships that travel to the center of the Earth. Now that Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire has premiered, the important question is: is it entertaining? While not high art (though the recent Japanese Godzilla films have become more prestigious), audiences sitting down to watch a movie where Kong rides Godzilla while wielding an axe still want it to measure up to a good ol’ time. So, how is it fairing in the early reactions?

Survivor 46 will introduce more than a cast of new players.
An image of the new voting booth is also creating social media buzz.
At each Tribal Council, castaways go to the voting booth to secretly place their votes.
People who lost their votes pretended they were voting in more recent seasons.
Everyone will have even more privacy to do so, and the voting booth is now well-lit.
But maybe the extra lighting was only intended for host Jeff Probst, and it gets toned down on episodes.

Below is an image going around social media of what is allegedly the Survivor 46 voting booth. We see host Jeff Probst excitedly speaking to the camera and likely priming the audience for a new season.
It’s a different look in the past and a departure from making sure it looks like an on-location shot, not just a set.

For nearly 20 years, Karla Ortiz has worked as a concept artist, bringing to life an entire universe of characters in projects like Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War and Thor: Ragnarok. She’s credited with coming up with the main character design for Doctor Strange in her own blend of impressionist and magic realism styles honed by decades of practice.
She was horrified to learn last year that her work at the forefront of multibillion-dollar franchises is being used to train generative artificial intelligence systems without her knowledge or consent. Imitations of her work are now floating all across the web. Her name has been fed into Midjourney, an AI art generator, more than 2,500 times to create art that looks like hers. Early reactions for the latest Disney+ "Star Wars" series, "Ahsoka," are rolling in, and critics and "Star Wars" fans who caught the first two episodes seem to be fairly impressed by the latest series — if not immediately blown away. So far, the Disney+ live-action "Star Wars" shows have been hit or miss, with "Andor" and "The Mandalorian" embraced for their uniqueness and stylistic flair, while "Obi-Wan" and "The Book of Boba Fett" garnered more mixed reactions.
"Ahsoka" in particular has a lot riding on its success, given that the animated series featuring Ahsoka Tano are some of the most beloved "Star Wars" properties of the 21st century. Rosario Dawson's live-action take on Anakin Skywalker's former Padawan was initially introduced in "The Mandalorian," but while Jon Favreau holds the reigns for that show, it's "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" mastermind Dave Filoni who's set to shepherd the new series as showrunner.

It’s been an incredibly long journey for the Fastest Man Alive on the big screen. But various false starts later, Warner Bros.’ The Flash is finally about to take a bow in theaters. Directed by Andy Muschietti (It) from a script by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey), the film in part adapts the classic DC comic Flashpoint, in which Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) goes back in time to save his mother from death and completely changes the present, creating a dystopian alternate DC timeline. While it doesn’t look like the movie will get too bogged down in the many subplots of Geoff Johns and Andy Kubert’s miniseries, The Flash will incorporate quite a bit of DC movie history into its runtime.

Warner Bros. debuted a first look at the upcoming shark attack sequel Meg 2: The Trench during CinemaCon today, and attendees seem to be pretty impressed with the footage.
Journalist Jeff Sneider tweets, “WB should just rename The Meg 2 to The Hit, because that’s what it’s gonna be. She’s hungry and back for seconds! Creatures have escaped an untouched, underwater ecosystem and are wreaking havoc in our world. Trailer is set to Barracuda.”
Eric Goldman adds, “… trailer for The Meg 2… begins with a Meg killing a dinosaur. They’re hunting in packs this time! Statham is fighting them! I’m so in!”
Rob Keyes writes, “Meg 2: The Trench trailer has the same over-the-top laughs and insanity as the first. The Megs are hunting in packs, there’s a dinosaur flashback, Jason Statham holds one back with his foot, there’s even a giant octopus or Kraken thing.

In big tech, data is currency, and TikTok is printing money. Once known for viral dance videos, the platform has built itself into a digital advertising juggernaut. The app has more than 150 million monthly users and 5 million businesses it can harvest information from to sell ads, it disclosed March 21. It’s the leading video-sharing app in America by a mile in terms of attracting and holding users’ attention. Competitors are reeling to catch up, copying its video features.
But national security concerns grounded in TikTok’s data privacy practices as well as the potential for the Chinese government to influence the content users see on the platform are jeopardizing its lucrative business. The company says that the Biden administration is demanding that TikTok’s Chinese owners sell their stakes or potentially face a U.S. ban on the app. By banning the platform, the government risks prioritizing alleged national security...

Disney just released its first full trailer for “The Little Mermaid,” and the footage has created a massive wave of reactions online.
“Stunning” and “amazing” were just some of the ways Halle Bailey’s “The Little Mermaid” was described after the film’s first full-length trailer dropped during the 95th Academy Awards Sunday. The movie stars Bailey, Melissa McCarthy, Jonah Hauer-King, Simone Ashley Jacob Tremblay, David Diggs, Lin-Manuel, Awkwafina, Javier Bardem and more.

Just months after a "Friday the 13th" prequel series was announced at Peacock, there's more big news from the beloved hockey-mask-killer franchise. According to Bloody Disgusting, original film director Sean S. Cunningham is reportedly working on his own "Friday the 13th" reboot. The news comes via actor, producer, and screenwriter, Jeff Locker, who says he and director Jeremy Weiss pitched Cunningham their "dream reboot of 'Friday the 13th' — with Sean's blessing to keep developing it with him."
This news is surprising given that a high-profile legal battle between Cunningham and original "Friday the 13th" screenwriter Victor Miller has kept Jason Voorhees from the big screen for well over a decade now. The two men ended up embroiled in a lawsuit, with Cunningham's company Horror, Inc. going up against Miller, who their argument claimed was a hired employee and not an author entitled to script rights. Miller did end...

This Star Wars article contains spoilers for The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
The Mandalorian became a pop culture sensation for several reasons, but few were as potent as Grogu aka the Child aka Baby Yoda. The beautifully articulated animatronic puppet quickly grabbed the attention of the public, and more and more fans tuned in to follow the Lone Wolf and Cub style adventures of Mando and Grogu. So when the finale of The Mandalorian season 2 ended with Luke Skywalker taking Grogu away to train him in the Force, fans wondered how season 3 would bring the beloved duo back together again.
And yet, as the new trailer for the upcoming season of The Mandalorian shows, Din Djarin and Grogu are together again, flying in their ship and getting up to all kinds of galactic shenanigans as if nothing ever happened. For devoted Star Wars fans, this plot point isn’t a problem,...

Everyone remembers the sensation of fear coursing through their veins the first time they ever heard the ominous whispering of "Ki ki ki, ma ma ma" in "Friday the 13th." The terrifying slasher from Victor Miller and Sean S. Cunningham spawned a massively popular franchise and inspired countless rip-offs, but few films can hold a candle to the unbridled terror found within the trees and cabins of Camp Crystal Lake. Now, horror maven Bryan Fuller is taking us back to camp with the upcoming A24 prequel series, "Crystal Lake."
The "Friday the 13th" franchise is comprised of 12 films, three seasons of a television series, novels, comic books, video games, and plenty of tie-in merchandise. While prequel stories have been told in the novels and comics, "Crystal Lake" will be the first time we see the story of what came before Jason Voorhees' untimely death during summer camp on screen — fully fleshed out.

After 14 years, the Friday the 13th franchise is finally getting set to return to the screen with “Crystal Lake,” an upcoming prequel series from A24, Peacock and Bryan Fuller (“Hannibal”) that’s miraculously able to use any and all existing elements from the franchise.
Peacock has given the project a straight-to-series order, with “Crystal Lake” being described as an “expanded prequel” to the original Friday the 13th franchise.
Variety had detailed, “The show will be written by Bryan Fuller, who is also the showrunner and an executive producer. Victor Miller, who penned the original film in the franchise, will also executive produce along with Marc Toberoff, Rob Barsamian, and A24.”
At a Friday the 13th Part III screening last night, Fuller provided an exciting update on the project, announcing that Kevin Williamson will be writing an episode!

Yesterday was Friday the 13th, so many fans of the Friday the 13th franchise spent the day anxiously checking the Internet, waiting to see if any news would drop about Crystal Lake, the Friday the 13th TV series that’s coming our way from Hannibal creator Bryan Fuller, Friday the 13th franchise rights holders Victor Miller and Rob Barsamian (plus Miller’s lawyer Marc Toberoff), A24, and the Peacock streaming service. No official press releases were sent out – but Fuller did attend a 3D theatrical screening of Friday the 13th Part III last night, and participated in a Q&a with a couple of the stars of that film. And thankfully, he did reveal some new information about Crystal Lake during the Q&a!

The Social Media Platform Duty to Children Act (Ab 2408) failed to pass out of committee for a full state Senate vote, reports Miami Herald.

In a surprising addition to the superhero discourse this week, fans have been taking to Twitter and other social media platforms in an effort to offer their two cents when it comes (or not) to whether Batman and other heroes perform cunnilingus.
How did this happen? Well, it all started with a fairly straightforward interview about how successful TV series like WandaVision, The Umbrella Academy, and Harley Quinn subvert the superhero genre – one that happened to produce an irresistible nugget of DC info that the internet is still very much feasting on at the time of writing.
Obviously it’s an interviewer’s dream when the person you’re quizzing dishes up some behind the scenes secrets about the making of their art, but Harley Quinn co-creator Justin Halpern probably wasn’t expecting the widespread social media reaction to this new interview,...

Musk will host the May 8th episode
NBC surprised pretty much everyone on Saturday with its announcement that Elon Musk would be hosting the next episode of “Saturday Night Live” on May 8, a decision that was met with a resounding, “No, no, no, no, no, no, no.”
Musk, who is known as the founder and CEO of both Tesla and SpaceX, will be the first non-actor or athlete to host the longrunning sketch comedy series since Donald Trump in the fall of 2016. At that time, Trump was still just a candidate for president and that decision was met with a lot of scrutiny.
Musk, who has come under fire over the past year for seemingly downplaying the severity Covid-19 pandemic (and has a history of making controversial statements), is being met with a similar level of disdain.

The first impressions for “Zack Snyder’s Justice League” dropped on Sunday and if they are any indication, the “Snyder Cut” will be exactly what hardcore DC fans have been waiting for.
More than three years after Joss Whedon’s version of the DC crossover film failed to join the “Avengers” film in the $1 billion-plus box office club — and earned limp reviews from both critics and audiences — Snyder is about to release the version that he originally envisioned before personal tragedy forced him to leave the project: a four-hour behemoth with expanded storylines, new fight scenes, redesigned villains and a greater focus on Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher.
So what are some of the people who have seen the film early saying? Matt Neglia, owner of the Oscar race website Next Best Picture, called the new “Justice League” a “miracle of a movie” and “A four-hour epic with dazzling visuals, a grand score,...

“WandaVision” debuts in less than a week on Disney+, marking the first new Marvel Studios project to be released in more than a year. And lucky for all you Marvel Cinematic Universe fans, the first reactions from those who have seen Episodes 1-3 of the Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany-led show are very positive.
“WandaVision” reunites Olsen and Bettany as their Marvel Cinematic Universe characters, Wanda Maximoff and Vision, and finds the two living an idyllic suburban life in Westview. Of course, nothing is what it seems, mostly because Vision is still very much dead following “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.”
“WandaVision” also features the returns of Kat Dennings and Randall Park as their McU characters, Darcy Lewis and FBI agent Jimmy Woo. Kathryn Hahn and Teyonah Parris also star, with the latter actress playing the grown-up version of Monica Rambeau from “Captain Marvel.”

The wait is almost over, and in just six days the Marvel Cinematic Universe will finally return to our screens, eighteen months after Spider-Man: Far From Home swung into theaters. Not only is WandaVision the launchpad for Phase Four, the series that introduces the multiverse and the franchise’s first official foray into episodic television, but it’s also Kevin Feige’s largest risk on a purely creative level.
So far, the McU has dealt exclusively in crowd-pleasing superhero blockbusters that give audiences exactly what they want. The movie’s chances of box office success may have been severely hampered by the ongoing effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, but now that Wonder Woman 1984 is heading to HBO Max as well as cinemas on Christmas Day, you can guarantee that millions of families will either be braving the trip to their local multiplex or gathering around their TV at home to watch what was once named as the single most anticipated blockbuster of 2020 back in simpler times.
It feels like we’ve been waiting forever to see Patty Jenkins’ superhero sequel, which was originally scheduled for November of last year before getting delayed again and again, with one of the major reasons it was decided to send the movie to streaming being the fear that audiences would eventually lose interest if Gal Gadot’s return as Diana Prince was held off for any longer.

Evan Rachel Wood didn't like movie adaptation of the classic musical "Cats", and has minced no words in condemning the Hollywood film. She says it is the "worst movie" that she has ever seen.
Featuring Andrew Lloyd Weber's iconic music and team of dancers under the guidance of Tony-winning choreographer Andy Blankenbuehler, the film, helmed by Oscar-winning director Tom Hooper, re-imagines the musical for a new generation.

Marvel unveiled its first trailer for Avengers: Damage Control yesterday and to say responses have been positive would be selling it short, to say the least.
For those not in the know, this latest addition to the superhero mythos is the result of a collaboration between Marvel, ILMxLAB and The Void and promises to be a virtual reality experience like no other. It’s tough to argue with that claim just based on the reveal trailer alone, but nothing quite beats first-hand impressions, especially where Vr is concerned. The technology has often been dubbed a fad that’s destined to fade into obscurity, but judging by early reactions to Damage Control, that couldn’t be further from the truth.
See below for what fans invited to step into the McU thought of their virtual adventure:

With Supernatural beginning the end of its 15-season run this October, longtime fans of the show (and the stars as well) are being hit hard in every one of their feels. We’re getting ready to say goodbye to characters we’ve been following for almost half our lives, but in the final season, we’ll get to see them one last time. Well, maybe not all of them.
John Winchester, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is apparently not yet confirmed for the show’s last run. At the annual Television Critics Association’s press tour, Ep Eugenie Ross-Leming had some things to say about Dean and Sam’s dad returning one last time, and apparently, he implied that we probably won’t be seeing Jdm.
Ross-Leming indicates it's not likely we'll see Jeffrey Dean Morgan again in the final season, feeling his last appearance worked really well to wrap things up for him.

In 2016, Ghostbusters became a surprisingly touchy subject when Paul Feig’s female-led reboot drew heavy backlash that quickly escalated into some pretty ugly territory. In this storm of controversy, the actual quality of the film itself was practically beside the point, but regardless of whether you feel the movie deserved better than its underwhelming box office figures, at least the lack of a sequel allowed the world to move on from this all-round unpleasant chapter in recent pop culture.
Sadly, in the wake of last night’s announcement that director Ivan Reitman’s son Jason Reitman is working on a Ghostbusters 3 that goes back to the continuity of the first two movies, it looks like old tensions are bubbling to the surface once more. And while some fans are just glad to see more from the series, many feel it’s a shame that Feig’s version didn’t make it past one movie,...

Google and GoDaddy did not violate the Daily Stormer’s constitutional right of free speech by kicking the white supremacist website off their internet hosting services, experts say. The First Amendment “limits only the government, not private parties such as Google and GoDaddy,” Harvard law professor and free speech expert Floyd Abrams told TheWrap. Because “neither GoDaddy or Google have any First Amendment obligations to any customer,” the Daily Stormer would not win a First Amendment lawsuit against those private companies, Santa Clara law professor and internet expert Eric Goldman told TheWrap. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has gotten to the point that with each passing film, I wonder if it'll be the one to topple the proverbial house of cards. Sure, not every single one of their movies has been a winner -- I maintain that Thor: The Dark World is terrible, and Iron Man 3 is better when you try not to think of it as a Marvel film -- but there hasn't been a film that's broken the world. Given that we have characters spanning galaxies, that's a definite possibility.
Their next film, Doctor Strange threatened to break the universe more than any other. Yes, it could be seen as any other standard run-of-the-mill standalone origin story, but the film is anything but. It's set in a world that's been populated for the past eight years, and in those eight years, rules have been established that cannot so easily be tossed aside.

A flood of first reaction reviews for Marvel's Doctor Strange has hit the internet, and it sounds like Marvel fans are in for something pretty incredible! There is a lot of praise for the crazy psychedelic visual effects, the characters, the uniqueness of the film and how it brings something fresh to the McU. You can read through the reviews below. They've definitely managed to get me even more pumped up about seeing this movie! I didn't think that was possible, but with everyone talking about how awesome it is, how can I not be more excited?!
It has also been confirmed that there will be two post-credits scenes teasing the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The CW’s “The 100” has more than earned its reputation for being one of the most brutal shows on television, but nothing hit its audience harder than the moment in Season 3 when Lexa (Alycia Debnam-Carey), just after sleeping with Clarke (Eliza Taylor) for the first time, was killed by accident. The outrage over the show falling prey to the “lesbian death trope” was epic — in a season full of death, Lexa became an icon for how Lgtbq characters and characters of color seem to die an awful lot more than others.
Hence, Comic-Con opened up a potential opportunity for the show’s creators and cast to speak directly to the issue. Except it didn’t happen. Discussion of the ultra-heavy post-apocalyptic drama stayed relatively light during the panel, with moderator Eric Goldman keeping the discussion focused on plot developments for Season 4. The Season 3 highlight reel below teased some of these upcoming obstacles.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the DVD I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.
It used to be we worried about the threat of artificial intelligence in movies like Colossus: The Forbin Project or “The Ultimate Computer” episode of Star Trek. Today, though, artificial intelligence is here thanks to Siri and Cortanna and their cousins. We talk to our phones and they answer back and these bots are growing increasingly sophisticated. As a result, what seemed ahead of its time a mere give years ago is looking increasingly prescient.
CBS’ Person of Interest arrived on September 22, 2011 and came with a fine pedigree having been created by Jonathan Nolan with J.J. Abrams on board as Executive Producer. It starred Michael Emerson, hot off Lost, Jim Caviezel, a pre-Empire Taraji P. Henson, and Kevin Chapman. It received near universal acclaim...

A review of last night's Person of Interest coming up just as soon as you get me the really big gun and a hair scrunchie... Well, damn. By opening the season on a flashforward featuring a recording of Root's voice warning us of what was to come — and by never showing us Root making that recording — Person of Interest seemed to be implying she was the safest of all the members of Team Machine as we headed into the home stretch. And because I had that thought in the back of my head, all of her talk throughout "The Day the World Went Away" about how the world itself is a simulation, how the Machine contains perfect copies of each of them, etc., never registered to me as warning signs of her imminent death, even though in hindsight they obviously should have. Earlier today, Vox's Todd VanDerWerff published a story...

In the age of Peak TV, the quest for the instantly perfect can be the enemy of the eventually good. Once upon a time, the decision to commit to a TV show had as much to do with what it might become as what it was at the moment. Rare is the show that's a Hall of Famer right out of the box, so there's always been guesswork involved: Do I like this premise? These characters? Do the parts I enjoy seem likely to stay while the parts I don't disappear? What's the best possible version of this show, and what are the chances it actually becomes that? In those days, a patient viewer might have endured the early growing pains of shows like Seinfeld, Buffy, Parks and Recreation, or even Breaking Bad, and in time been rewarded by those shows transforming their potential energy into the actual, kinetic kind.

Potential "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" Spoilers Ahead
One of the longest running rumors about "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" has been that at least one if not several of the characters would be the offspring of the original cast members.
In particular Daisy Ridley's Rey character has often been suggested to be the daughter of Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher). Others have suggested the offspring of Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) will play a part in the plot.
Making Star Wars has posted a report dismissing those rumors, saying:
"None of the heroes... the kids... are Solos or Skywalkers. Rey is not a Solo. It would not knock me on my knees to learn she is a Solo. VII does not answer that question. It just presents it. We have not seen anything to make us think the girl is the daughter... yet."
