More photos from Pete Travis‘ upcoming Dredd reboot have been outed by Lionsgate.
It stars Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby and Lena Headey, Jason Cope, Langley Kirkwood, Kevon Kane, Joe Vaz, Warrick Grier, Scott Sparrow, and Luke Tyler.
In the world of ‘Dredd,’ a new drug called slo-mo is taking over the streets. As the name implies, the drug causes its users to experience the world around them at a fraction of the normal speed, which means that when Urban’s Judge Dredd starts violently cleaning up the streets, there’s actually a reason for everything to sloooow down other than just to look cool (although, let’s face it, that’s the ulterior motive). All of this promises the most slow motion filled film since ’300,’ which was also sold heavily on its style rather than a star-studded cast.
Dredd opens on September 21st, 2012.
Will you go and see Dredd at the cinema?...

Watch a behind-the-scenes featurette on the stunning slow-motion visual effects utilized in Lionsgate's Dredd 3D! I have to hand it to Karl Urban, the guy really nailed that Dredd expression, far-better than what Stallone did in the earlier version of Judge Dredd, which was also quite entertaining for that matter. This is a different animal, and far bloodier, that's for sure. This latest featurette joins the previous 60 second trailer for Dredd 3D which we added recently. Pete Travis directs the sci-fi actioner with a cast including Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Jason Cope, Joe Vaz, Rakie Ayola, Warrick Grier, Wood Harris, Domhall Gleeson and Luke Tyler among others.

Although I’m not sure anyone asked for it, another update to the source material, which spawned the 1995 Sylvester Stallone actioner Judge Dredd, is coming our way this fall and we’ve got the first footage today. Titled simply Dredd, Star Trek‘s Karl Urban is in the lead role, with indie staple Olivia Thirlby by his side. While Pete Travis seems to be directing with a bit more style here compared to his dud Vantage Point, it’s difficult to get excited for this one.
Thirlby looks way out of her element and while I shouldn’t be expecting anything stellar from this reboot, I was hoping Alex Garland (Sunshine, 28 Days Later) cooked up a more interesting story than what looks to be a simple, confined building take-over (akin to this year’s The Raid). One can check out the trailer below also featuring Lena Headey, Jason Cope, Langley Kirkwood,...

Haven’t seen a trailer for Petey Travis’ “Dredd” yet, but I suspect we’ll see it soon enough. I mean, they can’t hide this thing forever, can he? It is curious though that we haven’t seen anything from the film yet except for some images and now, this new poster. Oh well, I’m sure they know what they’re doing. After all, they did promise it would be better than the Stallone version, and I’m sure they wouldn’t promise it if they couldn’t deliver. Right? Stars: Dane DeHaan, Michael B. Jordan, Michael Kelly, Ashley Hinshaw, Alex Russell, Luke Tyler | Written by Max Landis | Directed by Josh Trank
Andrew Detmer is a kid on the edge of society. He isn’t popular at high school, unlike his cousin Matt, at home his ailing mother can’t help protect him from his abusive father, and so his only protection is filming his whole life with a new camera, disassociating him from the rest of the world through a lens. But his dark, depressing life changes forever, when one night Andrew, Matt and Steve, possibly the most popular kid in school, find a hole in the ground, and examine the interior.
From there on out, Chronicle uses the superhero template from the last decade to tell the story of Andrew, an outsider who finds he can be the most powerful being in the world,...

While it doesn.t have a lot of thrills, Dark Tide does manage to capture some tension thanks to incredible underwater sequences that show the divers playing with some very large sharks. Unfortunately, the film suffers from a dragging pace and lack of chemistry between its cast. Directed by John Stockwell (who brought us the underwater thriller Into the Blue) and written by Ronnie Christensen and Amy Sorlie, the film stars Halle Berry, Olivier Martinez, Ralph Brown, Mark Elderkin, Luke Tyler, Thoko Ntshinga, and Sizwe Msutu. The film opens with .shark whisperer. Kate Mathieson (Berry) shooting a documentary with her husband Jeff (Martinez) off the coast of South Africa. Kate is one of the only shark experts in the...

Chicago – Poor Halle Berry. Apparently ravishing good looks, fine acting chops and an Academy Award for Best Actress aren’t enough to earn decent roles in Hollywood. Since her triumphant turn in 2001’s “Monster’s Ball,” Berry has had only two big screen roles that managed to hint at her gifts as an actress. Yet “Things We Lost in the Fire” and “Frankie & Alice” were largely ignored by critics and audiences.
Sadly, Berry’s name has gradually become synonymous with cinematic turkeys like 2004’s “Catwoman,” for which she graciously accepted a Razzie award while delivering a hilariously self-deprecating speech. That was a terrible film, to be sure, but it wasn’t nearly as depressing as John Stockwell’s PG-13-rated would-be blockbuster, “Dark Tide. It was deservedly released on Blu-ray less than a month after its alleged and seemingly nonexistent theatrical run. Even Berry’s most devoted fans will want...

For those let down by the poor new one-sheet from John Stockwell's new shark-related thriller 'Dark Tide', revealed earlier this week, they can hopefully take some solace in the fact that the newly revealed trailer has arrived. The one-sheet which you can check out below, may have just slipped beyond the 'terrible' label and into 'acceptable' thanks to its inclusion of Halle Berry in a bikini. So hold your breathe for the new shark thriller which promises no fake shark action and check out the new trailer below for more bikini action....

Chicago – “Chronicle,” which stars blah, blah and blah with a special appearance by blah (you wouldn’t know these unknowns any way), is the latest found-footage film to find itself lost, lacking purpose and devoid of a cohesive plot. This film’s fanboy ejaculate loves you short time as it spews the buildup of what could be interpreted as a “story” and ultimately ends without one.
Rating: 2.0/5.0
We can forgivingly leave to moviemaking mystery how a few kids develop superhero telekinesis from a weakly scripted, inexplicable, underground rock formation from which our story never returns to explore. But we cannot excuse a story that lacks a true protagonist, antagonist and an overall plot in exchange for three kids simply running around aimlessly and experimenting with their newfound power.
Even if you enjoy this special-effects joyride with a cast of new actors you won’t know, you’ll be hard pressed...

New teaser trailer for Chronicle, starring Michael B. Jordan, Michael Kelly and Alex Russell. Written by Max Landis, the film also includes Joe Vaz, Luke Tyler and Ashley Hinshaw. After adding some great new Chronicle movie clips recently, we now have a new teaser trailer for the Josh Trank sci-fi thriller which opens via 20th Century Fox on February 3rd. This is as real as it gets. Andrew, Matt, and Steve are recognizable teens, each with a distinctive personality and each facing relatable challenges that come with being in high school, forming new friendships, and exploring new facets of their ever-changing lives. They’re imperfect, awkward, and a little reckless. They could be you. Like so many of us, they’re obsessed with chronicling their lives, however mundane – or in their case, however extraordinary. For Andrew, Matt and Steve have stumbled upon something beyond their – or anyone’s – understanding. Their...

A new batch of images from Josh Trank’s superheroes-gone-bad movie “Chronicle”. I guess when you think about it, calling the lads of “Chronicle” superheroes is a bit of a mistake, since as far as I can tell, they never actually do anything overly superheroic, unless you consider screwing around with people in stores “superheroic”. Which, in case you’re wondering, I don’t. Anyhoo. New images from the film, due out next month on February 3, 2012. If all goes well, I see a very, very bright future for Mr. Trank. I mean, come on, with a name like that, wouldn’t you like to see the kid succeed? Starring Michael B. Jordan, Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell, Ashley Hinshaw, Michael Kelly, Anna Wood, Joe Vaz, Matthew Dylan Roberts, and Luke Tyler. Get more images and videos in our “Chronicle” preview page...
