Actor-rapper Chaitnya Sharma, aka SlowCheeta, recently starred as Pk Banerjee in the recently released hit film Maidaan and received much praise for his performance. Now he has donned his other avatar and has dropped his latest EP – Scene Main Bawaal, released by IncInk Records. The singer has also released a unique music video for one of the five tracks from the EP, titled Kar De Kaa?
What makes it even cooler is that in an exciting Gully Boy reunion, the 7-minute-long Mv features superstar Ranveer Singh in a cameo, alongside SlowCheeta.
The music video tells the story of India’s underground rap scene, complete with its highs and lows. For Kar De Kaa?, the actor-rapper has released a music video that expands upon its title through a very intriguing video filled with rich storytelling. The title, “Kar De Kaa?,” literally translates to “Should I do it?” However, its context is more nuanced.

If hand-drawn animation ever needed a jump start at Disney, now’s the time. Maybe “Once Upon a Studio,” the hybrid short where 2D takes center stage in a multi-character crossover, will provide the first baby step. But even if it’s only a momentary 100th-anniversary legacy booster, it’s a cause for celebration as 543 newly animated characters (mostly hand-drawn) leap out of their photographs in the live-action Roy E. Disney Animation building to roam the halls and gather outside for a group photo.
The short premieres October 15 during ABC’s “The Wonderful World of Disney: Disney’s 100th Anniversary Celebration.” It will not play in front of “Wish” but will have an Oscar-qualifying run at the El Capitan in Hollywood. One of the great treats is watching Mickey stop and pay tribute to Walt’s portrait underscored by 94-year-old legendary composer Richard Sherman play “Feed the Birds” from “Mary...

The red in tooth and claw classic now requires parental guidance rather than being suitable for anyone. This may seem quaint in the digital age, but it raises important questions
When the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) changes its certificate for an old movie, it is generally to ease up a bit and concede, like strict parents letting their teens have a glass of wine at dinner, that all right, times have changed. The Alien movies were once rated 18; now they’re 15.
However, the recent decision to upgrade the 1978 animated version of Watership Down – the much-loved wild rabbit adventure – from U to PG (Parental Guidance) is a remarkable example of the censoring authority becoming more puritanical over time. Watership Down is violent apparently, with “bloody bite and claw injuries”. To which we can only say: yes. The overwhelming threat of violence is part of what has made Watership Down so compelling.

You probably have a favorite Cate Blanchett performance — if you’ve watched the Australian actor over the last three decades or so of her career, there are undoubtedly a few turns that rank higher than others in your personal Cate canon. Maybe you go for the big dramatic swings: Think Blue Jasmine, the forever unstable heroine of Woody Allen’s character study that won Blanchett her second Oscar; or the title character of Carol, Todd Haynes’ swooning adaptation of a Patricia Highsmith novel that lets her give a masterclass in repression and passion.

Snakes appear as characters in movies more than you may think. These slithering creatures appear in everything from animations to horror films. While some people love snakes, they instill fear in others and it is little wonder because movies often portray snakes in a negative light. Here are five famous movie scenes where a snake is the main character. 1. The Jungle Book The Jungle Book is one of the best-known and most loved animated films of all time. The snake in this film is called Kaa. Although Kaa appears in many scenes throughout the film, there is one famous

Cate Blanchett has a slew of projects in the works, including becoming Hela in “Thor: Ragnarok” and Kaa in “Jungle Book.” Add to that list the high art short film “Red” where she portrays Mother, a spider-like woman who “eats her partner after sex and weaves a tangled web,” per the Sydney Morning Herald.
Written and directed by Del Kathryn Barton, the film also stars Alex Russell and the Sydney Dance Company’s Charmene Yap. The project is “a surrealist take on female power inspired by the mating rituals of the Australian red back spider.” The first teaser of the short was recently released, which you can check out below.

Jon Favreau brings lush CGI, dark shadows and big-beast stars to a rebooted classic
Related: Disney to make live-action Peter Pan
Like Kenneth Branagh’s Cinderella, Jon Favreau’s “live action” Jungle Book reboot owes as much (if not more) to Disney’s classic cartoon as it does to the tale’s literary source. Using state of the art CGI environments (very little of what you see is actually “live”) and Life of Pi-style animal animations, this breathes delightful new life into a longstanding family favourite, lending digital depth and a hint of darkness to the familiar anthropomorphic encounters, in the process dispelling all memories of 2003’s ill-conceived Jungle Book 2. Neel Sethi is terrific as Mowgli, whose frame and stance eerily echo those of his animated predecessor, while Bill Murray and Christopher Walken lend baggy appeal and mobster menace respectively to the vocal roles of Baloo and King Louie.

It wasn't a big surprise that Disney's new live-action "The Jungle Book" opened at No. 1 this weekend. What was a shocker, however, was just how big the latest version of Rudyard Kipling's tale turned out to be.
Going into the weekend, positive buzz for the film led to predictions that it would open to at least $70 million, $85 million on the high-end of expectations. On Sunday, however, Disney estimated that the film's opening weekend had grossed $103.6 million. That makes it the second-biggest April opening ever, beating the $95.0 million earned by "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" two years ago, and second only to last year's "Furious 7," at $147.2 million. It's also the biggest April opening ever for a PG-rated movie.
How did "Jungle Book" over-perform so much this weekend? Here are five ways.

In theatres this weekend: an orphan takes on a tiger, a barbershop tries to clean up the neighbourhood, and Deadpool and Wonder Woman are married?! Ok… well not quite.
The Jungle Book
It’s the story we all grew up with, but in a way we’ve never seen before in The Jungle Book. Neel Sethi makes his big-screen debut as Mowgli, a boy raised by wolves, who finds himself being hunted by the deadliest tiger in the land, Shere Khan. Some big names lend their voices to this beautiful retelling including Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Bill Murray as Baloo, and Scarlet Johansson as Kaa. Last fall, I spoke with Gus Fring himself,Giancarlo Esposito, about his role as Akela the wolf. At that time, Giancarlo said it had been one of the most exciting projects he had been a part of and was just anxious to see how it...

In anticipation of Disney's live-action adaptation of "The Jungle Book," Moviefone had the opportunity to chat with director Jon Favreau about what inspired him to re-imagine the beloved animated classic.
Opening this Friday, Favreau's movie takes us back into the jungle with Mowgli and friends using cutting-edge technology that renders an incredible, photo-realistic world in 3D. When you see it, you'll be shocked by the knowledge that "The Jungle Book" was shot entirely in Downtown Los Angeles using practical sets and Dolby vision laser projection. In other words, if you thought movies like "Avatar" and "Life of Pi" looked amazing, you ain't seen nothin' yet.
We also get some of what we love from the original musical Walt Disney production but fit to reflect the time and outfitted with a stellar voice cast. Newcomer Neel Sethi plays Mowgli and is joined by Sir Ben Kingsley (Bagheera), Lupita Nyong'o (Raksha), Bill Murray...

Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book has been adapted to film numerous times over the years. The 1942 live-action film, which you can see via Hulu Plus if you have it, remains beautiful and mysterious even now, while the 1967 Disney animated version is one of their most iconic films. Years ago, when I was still new to Los Angeles, there was a stretch of about 18 months where my writing partner and I shared an apartment with a married couple named Dave and Laura. Laura was a preposterously sweet woman, and she had a keen affection for Disney animation. In particular, she loved Mowgli and his gangly, lanky frame, all elbows and angles. About halfway through last night’s press screening of the new Jon Favreau version, I couldn’t help but laugh, thinking about how much Laura’s going to love Neel Sethi, who stars as Mowgli, because he looks like...

Though Disney’s modern take on The Jungle Book is yet to open in theaters, a positive wave of early reviews coupled with strong box office tracking have unsurprisingly fuelled talk of a sequel, with The Hollywood Reporter claiming just yesterday that the House of Mouse has opened negotiations for Jon Favreau and scribe Justin Marks to descend on the studio’s CG jungle once again.
Alas, according to Favreau, reports of a Jungle Book 2 easing into pre-production so soon appear to have gotten out of hand, after the director revealed to Empire that yesterday’s report “was a rumor.”
With that said, Favreau didn’t necessarily rule out the possibility of a follow-up to Disney’s imminent, CG-laden feature, stating that, “I can at least confirm that we’ve been talking about the notion of doing a sequel, and what the sequel might be. But there was no decisive...

Disney's latest live-action update of one of its classic animated features is "The Jungle Book." But don't expect just a shiny CG update of the 1967 cartoon that turned Rudyard Kipling's fierce beasts into mostly adorable, toy-ready critters. For one thing, if you've seen the trailers, you know this new version features some impressive-looking animals, speaking with the voices of some impressive stars. For another thing, its director is Jon Favreau, who helped launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe with "Iron Man."
Favreau and Disney clearly wanted to make something more than just a retread of the studio's 1967 cartoon -- or Disney's 1994 live-action version. Judging by the 100% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, they've pulled it off. Here are five things you need to know before entering the "Jungle."

It’s remake time again. Since there’s another remake coming out of the story we’re looking at today, it seemed like a perfect time to dissect this one. This week, Cinelinx looks at Jungle Book.
The novel “Jungle Book” was written by Rudyard Kipling (Author of Gunga Din and The Man Who Would Be King) in 1894. It was a series of short stories using anthropomorphic animals to tell tales reflecting the conflict between man and nature. Three of the stories featured Mowgli, a boy raised in the jungle by animals (Mowgli was partly the inspiration for Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan) and is torn between his two worlds. There have been several film interpretations of this story, with a new one coming out this week. The two most famous are the first adaptation from 1942, and the popular animated Disney musical version from 1967. (We’ll skip the 1994 version with Jason Scott Lee...

Disney is so bullish on “The Jungle Book,” which hits theaters this Friday, that it is already in talks to bring back director Jon Favreau and screenwriter Justin Marks for a sequel, an individual familiar with the project has told TheWrap. Neel Sethi, who plays Mowgli in the film, will also return for “Jungle Book 2,” which would be produced by Favreau. Marks’ script would draw from additional works by “Jungle Book” author Rudyard Kipling. The voice cast is also expected to return, including Bill Murray as Baloo the bear, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera the panther, Scarlett Johansson as Kaa the.

With just over a week until the film premieres, The Jungle Book is definitely a movie that seems to be (finally) hitting peoples movie radars. Disney released their new trailer on Friday and that’s on top of “leaking” images and sneak peeks for months. But of all the forms of advertisement, their portrait campaign really does wonders…
The portraits feature the voice actors standing with their onscreen characters, animals of course. However, the images are so surreal you almost forget the animals are CGI effects and start to wonder if they really did get a giant python to stand with Scarlett Johansson. Each actor is split with their character in a lifelike image that just begs you to watch the movie for the visual styling alone.
First up is Idris Elba, who plays Shere Khan, a Bengal tiger who has human-caused scars and thus has a dislike for all people.

From the moment I saw the first footage of The Jungle Book at D23 last year, I knew that Disney and director Jon Favreau had something special on their hands. That first footage gave me goosebumps and brought tears of joy and excitement not just to me, but to everyone in attendance. I am happy to say that while I watched the full incredible adventure of Mowgli and his animal friends unfold on the big screen, I was flooded with those same exact feelings.
Like many of you, I grew up on the old Disney animated films, and I absolutely loved The Jungle Book. One of the things I was most looking forward to seeing is how well this live-action/CGI film carried the spirit of the original. The trailers for the film made us believe it was there, but until we see the film in its entirety, we never really know what to expect.

Disney and director Jon Favreau are almost ready for you to see their live-action adaptation of "The Jungle Book." The film, out April 15, follows Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a "man-cub" who was raised by wolves. Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o plays Raksha, the mother wolf, and she's featured at the start of this exclusive sneak peek of the movie.

I think you really get a good sense of a movie by watching the film clips that are released for it. Good trailers can hide a bad movie from audiences, but clips let you in on how scenes actually play out in the film. They show you true aspects of dialogue, action, character, and story.
Disney has released three film clips from Jon Favreau’s highly anticipated live-action adaptation of The Jungle Book. The trailers have already got me excited for the movie, but these clips offer of a taste of what we can truly expect and I like what I see!
The first clip is called “Baloo,” and it features Mowgli meeting the big lovable bear for the first time. The second clip is called “Hibernation,” and it features Mowgli helping Baloo get ready for hibernation. The third and final clip is called “Mowgli Leaves The Pack” and it...

Disney has released a bunch of promo material for Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book recently, including the first clip from the film, which features a frightening Shere Khan. There are also a series of photos that feature the cast of the film with the animal characters that they play in the film. You'll see Scarlett Johansson and Kaa, Giancarlo Esposito and Akela, Ben Kingsley and Bagheera, Christopher Walken and King Louie, Lupita Nyong'o and Raksha, and Idris Elba and Shere Khan. Each of the images come with a description of the character and quote from the actor who plays them. I’m kinda sad that there isn’t one of Billy Murray with Baloo. I also included a new TV spot and a collection of character posters.
I'm so excited to see this movie. I'm such a huge fan of the original animated film, and this looks like a perfect live-action adaptation.

While the Jungle Book trailers we've seen thus far have been great on spectacle, they admittedly haven't really done a whole lot to push a narrative. Those who haven't seen the original animated film (I'm sure they're out there somewhere) wouldn't even know what the story is about too much if they didn't peruse for the synopsis. That is, until now.
ComicBook.com has posted a new trailer that includes a myriad of new footage, but it's not just a couple of shots, but rather our first real peek of the story of the film in action. If you weren't sold on the visual effect spectacle yet, I highly recommend you check out this trailer so you can get an idea of the feels you'll be in for.

Some may lament Disney their series of recent adaptation of their old animated classics. While the potential is all there, it does really seem like a terrible waste of creativity. This is the mindset I had when The Jungle Book was first announced. Despite the fact that they seem to be doing pretty well with their live-action pictures, I didn't see this doing much for me.
That was until the first trailer. In the months since then, I've been constantly blown away by what's been shown. The attention to detail is great, the execution looks riveting, and the voice cast seems to be putting their best foot forward.
This trend continues with the first clip of the film, which introduces its villain, Shere Khan, played by Idris Elba.
In addition to the tremendous voice work from Elba and Giancarlo Esposito, this clip highlights just how far we've come in the visual effects department.

While there are a great number of blockbusters hitting theaters this year that I'm looking forward to, perhaps the biggest surprise comes in the form of The Jungle Book. It's a story we've seen before, and while I've loved both the animated version, and the live-action version from the 1990s, it's not really a franchise that fans have been hungry to see more of. Even when Jon Favreau signed on to direct, I was lukewarm at best on the whole idea of it.
Fast forward to now, and I have to say that it's worked its way up to being perhaps one of the most anticipated of the year. Between its groundbreaking visual effects and its loving nods to the original animated film, it seems poised to be a great time at the theaters. We're less than a month away, and while we still have Batman v Superman to get through before its release,...

Brand new special shoot images featuring the cast of Disney’s The Jungle Book have been released.
Featuring Idris Elba, Scarlett Johansson, Lupita Nyong’o, Sir Ben Kingsley, Christopher Walken and Giancarlo Esposito, each image pairs the actor with their onscreen character, as well as quotes from the actors.
Voiced by Idris Elba, Shere Khan bears the scars of man, which fuel his hatred of humans. Convinced that Mowgli poses a threat, the bengal tiger is determined to rid the jungle of the man-cub. “Shere Khan reigns with fear,” says Elba. “He terrorizes everyone he encounters because he comes from a place of fear.”
Kaa is a massive python who uses her voice and hypnotic gaze to entrance Mowgli. The man-cub can’t resist her captivating embrace. “Kaa seduces and entraps Mowgli with her storytelling,” says Scarlett Johansson. “She’s...

Earlier we had mentioned that several celebrities will be coming together to dub the Hindi version of one of India's most loved animated series The Jungle Book. And now recently, former beauty queen and actress Priyanka Chopra launched the Hindi version of 'Kaa' in Disney's The Jungle Book in a special video clip. The reason why Priyanka Chopra took over the voice of 'Kaa' for its Hindi version was because her playful and sultry voice was apt to match Scarlett Johannsson's sensual rendition of 'Kaa' in the English version of the film. Priyanka Chopra also tweeted about it saying, "@TheJungleBook was one of my favorite parts of my childhood & now I get to be in it as the voice of Kaa! Wooopiee!" Disney has released another TV spot for The Jungle Book, the studio’s big-budget take on the Rudyard Kipling classic, playing up the photo-realistic animals and tremendously absorbing sense of place on display in the spring tentpole.
There’s a curious balancing act going on in the marketing campaign for this movie, one that’s trying to blend the epic scope and visual wow with a charming, old-school sensibility that extends to a bear voiced by Bill Murray whistling “Bear Necessities.”

Disney just dropped a new full trailer for Jon Favreau's The Jungle Book and it's absolutely amazing. This is the best trailer that I've seen for the film so far. It features lots of great new footage and it completely captures the spirit of the original animated film that we all know and love. This trailer actually managed to tug on my emotions a bit and get me a little choked up. Of course, you have to understand that this was one of my favorite animated movies to watch when I was a kid, and seeing it brought to life in such a perfect way like this is freakin' exciting! It's that bare necessities song that gets me!
