Saturday’s show opened with hosts Ranvir and Manish reminding the audience that there are just 7 days left for the grand finale of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa! It was then time to determine this weeks face-off. Mouni was one of the face-off contestants but as she has the Shakti Immunity ball, she used it to be safe. This meant that the face-off would be between Shakti and Akshat! Two of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’s strongest contestants.
The judges were very excited that Jhalak had reached the semi final stage. Host Manish reminded the audience that as Shakti did not perform last week due to ill health, she had received zero scores and so her outcome would also depend on the number of votes she received from her fans.
Then there was a special performance from choreographer Ganesh Hedge who was the special guest for the episode and had also choreographed the contestants acts this week.

The show opened with rehearsal clips of the contestants showing how hard they had been rehearsing for this week’s performance. It also transpired that Shakti, Ashish, Mouni and Akshat were all unwell due to stress of rehearsals. Shakti was suffering from, low blood pressure and her doctor had advised her complete bed rest which meant she was unable to perform in this episode. She did however request her fans to keep voting for her. There was no face-off this week due to the Ganesh Chaturthi festival which meant all the contestants were safe.
The special guests of Saturday’s episode were Sonam Kapoor and Fawad Khan who had come to promote their latest film Khoobsurat. Fawad is also a Pakistani TV serial actor and so a lot of his own fans were present in the audience.

This week’s Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, started on a “short”, sad note as host Ranvir Shorey read out a humorous letter from host Drashti Dhami explaining why she has left the show. Ranvir even joked that he wished she hadn’t left him as he now has to do all the work himself! Of course, thankfully, Drashti has been replaced and it is by none other than Manish Paul who was one of the original hosts during the earlier seasons of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa. All the judges and contestants welcomed him warmly, and the show was filled with his usual hilarious antics and natural flirty behaviour with the ladies!
This week’s theme of Jhalak was ‘Judges Demand’ and this meant that the judges had chosen the specific dance style and that each contestant was to perform. Only how they did it, would remain entirely their choice.

We are back with another look at what happened on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa! This week’s show opened with the international judge Maksim Chmerkovskiy dancing to the song ‘Criminal’ from Ra One. The audience really loved his performance, as it was the first time Maksim had danced solo on the show.
Host Ranvir, then tricked the contestants into a “pass the parcel” game, by throwing them a mirror ball and saying that whoever caught the ball, would go directly into the face-off. But judge Karan Johar used his “jhoothameter” and said that Ranvir was fooling around, the mirror ball would say who was safe from the eliminations.
This week’s theme was Made in India which meant the contestants would be performing on dance styles that originated from India.
Actor Ashish Sharma & his choreographer Shampa were the first to perform. They danced on the song ‘Har Kisi Ko Nahin Milta’ from the film Boss.

Mumbai, June 17: TV actor Ashish Sharma, seen as Ranveer in "Rab Se Sona Ishq", says nervousness is the key to a good performance.
"Whenever you give a shot, the nervous energy in your stomach is the key to that emotional breakdown, that kick that is needed to perform," said Ashish, an alumnus of actor Anupam Kher's Actor Prepares institute.
"If you don't have that kick, that means you are not made for this (acting)," he told students of the academy during a talk.
Ashish made his debut with "Gunahon Ka Devta" and later gained popularity through the show "Chandragupta Maurya" where he played the lead.
