Based on a story by Micah Gallo, who also directs and co-writes the screenplay here alongside Bryan Dick and Jason Alvino, Itsy Bitsy is Gallo’s feature debut, having only worked previously on shorts, as well as a part of visual effects teams on dozens of movies, from the Hatchet trilogy to The Innkeepers.
Now, I’m a fan of the ole “creature feature” but it’s fair to say films in this specific sub-genre are few and far between these days. Spiders are always a good choice for a creature feature horror film, because spiders, after-all, are a widely spread fear around the world. They have eight legs, they can walk on your ceilings, and you never know where the buggers are lurking, so… that’s some solid horror right there,...

When Emily Mortimer says, “Evil needs a body to exist. The body was that boat,” it’s just the first of numerous unsayable lines in “Mary.” This tale of nautical terror is one leaky vessel, despite veteran cinematographer Michael Goi’s professionally competent direction and a cast (also including Gary Oldman) well-equipped to handle more challenging, as well as more intelligent, material. Rlje Films is releasing it on 25 U.S. screens simultaneous with on-demand and digital HD this Friday. It should do Ok as a formulaically forgettable home-entertainment option.
That first dialogue pearl occurs as a federal investigator (Jennifer Esposito) is interviewing Sarah Greer (Mortimer), who was found floating on debris off the Florida coast. Her two daughters are also safe, having been rescued from a lifeboat. But the sailing ship they were on, the Mary, has vanished — as well as other persons on board. You won’t find a horror movie with more barnacles on it this year than Michael Goi’s “Mary,” but that would be true even if this nautical nightmare was seaworthy. The supernatural thriller “Mary” takes place almost entirely on a haunted boat, and those arthropods make a cameo appearance that’s only slightly more memorable than anything Oscar-winner Gary Oldman is doing above the waterline.
Oldman stars as David, a fisherman who’s been working on other people’s boats his whole life and dreams of owning his own boat. His wife Sarah (Emily Mortimer) sends him a picture of a boat she found at auction, but when he gets there he only has eyes for a derelict fixer-upper named “Mary,” the same name as their youngest daughter.
It’s fate, David argues. It’s a money pit, Sarah counters, but she quickly defers to her husband’s poorer judgment.

Kew Media Distribution have announced they will be releasing the new horror feature Itsy Bitsy on UK digital platforms from 14th October. Directed and produced by Micah Gallo (Wick) alongside special effects master Dan Rebert (True Blood), Itsy Bitsy stars Bruce Davison, Elizabeth Roberts, Denise Crosby, Arman Darbo and Chloe Perrin.
Itsy Bitsy weaves a character-driven story of responsibility, love and loss set against a terrifying backdrop of chilling scares and monstrous legends. When Kara (Elizabeth Roberts) a single mother struggling to raise two children in New York City, receives a job offer to work as a private nurse in the mid-West, it’s an opportunity she can’t refuse. So, she uproots her family, moving them to the remote farm owned by Walter (Golden Globe®-winner Bruce Davison), a semi-retired antiquities appraiser who has multiple sclerosis. At first, things seem normal enough. But what Kara doesn’t know is...

Itsy Bitsy is a horror film with lots of spiders. Developed by first time feature film director Micah Gallo, this title involves a single mother and a move to small guesthouse. Inside the new home, Kara must look after an aging antiquities collector, Walter. Once an ancient artifact is found, this family is put in jeopardy. Itsy Bitsy centrally stars Elizabeth Roberts as Kara, along with Bruce Davison (Along Came the Devil), Chloe Perrin and Treva Etienne. The film is out now and the latest release details are hosted here. Recently, director Gallo has been interviewed on this title. Developed from a Kickstarter campaign, Gallo also mentions his influences for the film: "[its] something like Jaws with edgy character drama. Kind of like The Exorcist. But really, if you're familiar with something like Q the Winged Serpent or Of Unknown Origin (Movieweb)." This filmmaker knows his horror films. Gallo also studied...

Directed by Michael Goi, this aquatic chiller is a scary boat movie about a spooky yacht named Mary. As such, it has a decent cast and an intriguing set-up. However, Mary the movie starts taking on water even before Mary the scary boat does, and the whole thing eventually sinks under the weight of its accumulated clichés.
The story is told mostly in flashback, as distressed mother Sarah (Emily Mortimer) recounts her tale of woe to sceptical police detective Lydia (Jennifer Esposito), after being found floating in the ocean. It had all started so well: Sarah’s husband David (Gary Oldman) had bought an old boat (albeit one with a somewhat chequered history) and they had set sail for the Bahamas, accompanied by their two daughters, Lyndsey...

Here’s the synopsis that has been released for the movie that offers us some insight into the story and where it came from:
A story tangled up in a web of family drama, personal demons, and a horrifying monster.
Based on the centuries-old poem, a family moves into a secluded mansion where they soon find themselves being targeted by an ancient entity taking the form of a giant spider.

"Went up the water spout..." This looks scary as all hell. Scream Factory has debuted the first teaser trailer for a new indie horror feature titled Itsy Bitsy, from filmmaker Micah Gallo (a VFX producer making his feature directorial debut). As the title hints at, this is a new horror movie about a giant spider but this time it's actually, seriously scary - not some fake looking bug. This one looks real, and giant, and the shots in this will give you the creeps. Don't watch if you hate spiders (like me) - it'll ruin your day/week/year/life. Julius Amedume’s neo-noir psychological thriller “Rattlesnakes,” rock documentary “Suzi Q” and the elevated horror thriller “Itsy Bitsy” are among the new titles that Kew Media Distribution will be introducing to buyers at Berlin’s European Film Market, which kicks off Thursday.
They join a slate that includes three buzz-worthy documentaries: Rodney Ascher’s “Glitch in the Matrix, Michael Jackson expose “Leaving Neverland,” one of the talking points at Sundance, and Nick Broomfield’s “Marianne & Leonard – Words of Love,” also a hot title in Park City.
Scripted and directed by Amedume, “Rattlesnakes” tells the story of California life guru and family man Robert McQueen. What begins as a typical day of therapy sessions with his clients takes a turn for the worse… He’s expecting to meet a regular client in a rented apartment, but instead he’s ambushed by three masked men and held hostage.

You only need to watch one haunted house movie to know that finding someone who believes something paranormal is actually happening is a major challenge. In Alistair Legrand’s The Diabolical, the family is far past the initial panic of needing someone to come save them. They’ve given up on outside help. No one is coming. The only thing left to do is find a way to survive the invasions that come over and over and over again.
Ali Larter plays Madison, a single mother whose house and children have been terrorized by a series of paranormal apparitions. As she tries to find a way to get her family out of the house, it becomes apparent that her kids aren’t going to be able to leave. After her scientist boyfriend (Arjun Gupta) sees one of the invaders, he attempts to find a way to stop whatever it is that’s ruining their lives.

Also included in this go-around is the poster for The Diabolical, a new horror film starring Ali Larter, as well as a look at Super7 and Secret Base's Green Slime Alien soft vinyl figure, going on sale this Friday.
