With Gone Girl out now, and Fight Club about to turn 15, we take a look back at David Fincher's controversial and bravura cult film...
What the hell is Fight Club anyway? A horror film about a Jekyll-and-Hyde office worker who becomes a terrorist? A drama about late 20th century masculinity in crisis? A warped romance about a man trying to change himself into someone as interesting as the woman he loves? A thriller about a decadent generation goading itself into extremism?
Executives at 20th Century Fox certainly struggled with Fight Club. Unsure how to market a film in which young men beat one another to a pulp and stole bags of fat from the bins of liposuction clinics, the studio placed ads for it during World Wrestling Federation matches. Meanwhile, Fight Club's posters, dreamed up by an expensive design firm, featured a pink bar of soap with the...

No, American Wolf is not a follow-up to The Wolf of Wall Street. It’s actually a tale of the female alpha wolf (the “06”) who’d captivated the scientific and tourist community only to be shot by a hunter outside of Yellowstone National Park in 2012, and Leonardo DiCaprio’s production banner Appian Way is teaming up with Kevin McCormick’s Langley Park to secure the film rights, sources tell EW. The deal is not closed yet, though.
Nate Blakeslee, a Senior Editor at Texas Monthly, sold his book proposal for the story earlier this week for a reported seven-figures. According to The Hollywood Reporter,...

Leonardo DiCaprio's Appian Way label and Kevin McCormick's Langley Park are teaming to pick up the screen rights to Nate Blakeslee's book proposal "American Wolf".
The film tells tells the story of O-Six, a female alpha wolf and arguably amongst the world's most famous wild animals. Collared and tracked by researchers at Yellowstone National Park, she gained a huge following by scientists and the public.
She was shot by a hunter in 2012 just outside the park's boundaries, an act that caused outrage despite it being legal. DiCaprio and Jennifer Killoran will produce the feature which focuses on the impact she had on the humans around her from the wolf watchers to the vilified hunter who remains unnamed to this day.

Leonardo DiCaprio’s production shingle, Appian Way, has joined with Langley Park to produce the true story of an American Wolf. Langley’s Kevin McCormick pursued the rights after the book deal went through for an alleged seven figures earlier this week. How crazy is it that a movie is already in the works for a book that’s only been proposed? Not that crazy, actually, as that move is emerging as a popular method for acquiring new movie material.
The book landed its proposed author Nate Blakeslee a cool amount after pitching the idea to numerous publishers. We’re not surprised, either, as everyone loves a good wolf-inspired yarn. Just look at The Grey, the frosty actioner that put wolves centre stage. Alas, their appearance in that movie only hindered their reputation, which this new movie aims to appease. It’s set to focus on O-Six, a famous female...

Going down the biopic route once more, scribe Dustin Lance Black ("J. Edgar," "Milk") has signed a deal to pen a limited series following the life of intrepid aviator and explorer Charles Lindbergh. Based on A. Scott Berg’s Pulitzer-awarded biography "Lindbergh," the series will, in the words of executive producers Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Killoran, “explore Lindbergh's true past.” (This is a way of saying that, surprise, the endeavor will put equal light on his public heroism as well as his anti-Semitism.) Berg and Kevin McCormick will co-produce. According to Black, Lindbergh is “far from perfect,” yet nevertheless strived to “rectify the unseen ramifications of what the world still considers his greatest successes.” It's early days on this one, as word on casting, directorial involvement, network, start dates, and so on is forthcoming. Black will pen the series, originally a Paramount film project, for Paramount TV...

TV miniseries are all the rage these days, from Fox’s 24: Live Another Day to FX’s Fargo, and it’s not hard to see why. The ability to play a story out across a whole season allows writers and directors to toy with convention and pursue ambitious plots that just wouldn’t work as well on the big screen, while the limited episode count and commitment attracts big name stars like Halle Berry (on CBS’s Extant) and Matthew McConaughey (who did a one-season run on ‘anthology series’ True Detective, which is basically a set of self-contained miniseries from the same showrunner). Now, Oscar winner Dustin Lance Black (Milk) has become the latest Hollywood talent to contract the miniseries bug, and will be adapting Scott Berg’s Pulitzer Prize-winning biography Lindbergh for Paramount Television.

I love Emily Blunt. And the thought of her in a horror movie makes me happy. Which is why I'm happy right now. Read on to find out what the hell I'm talking about!
As reported by The Wrap, Ms. Blunt is attached to star in an upcoming psychological thriller called Sister, an adaptation of Rosamund Lupton's best-selling novel of the same name. Interestingly enough, Blunt's sister in real life is a literary agent who represents the book, making this one a true family affair. As I learned firsthand in my high school years, the only thing better than one blunt is two!
Kevin McCormick is developing the film under his Langley Park banner, with StudioCanal financing the development. A screenwriter has not yet been found.
The London-based mystery follows Beatrice (Blunt) as she investigates the death of her younger sister Tess, whose death is ruled a suicide by police.
