Famously known for bringing Bella Swan to life on the big screen, Kristen Stewart has always been vocal about her thoughts on the Twilight series. In a recent interview on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, the actress once again shared her take on the films and the dynamics of the characters and their relationship.
Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan in Twilight
Harboring fondness for her iconic Twilight character, Kristen Stewart, revealed that if she were in Bella’s shoes, in real life, she would have ended her romance with Edward Cullen. While the world unanimously appreciated Bella and Edward’s romance, Stewart seemed to have a different opinion, where she called out the controlling nature of Robert Pattinson’s character.

Drake Bell, who was one of the ex-Nickelodeon stars who opened up about his experiences on children’s TV on the Quiet On Set docuseries, has praised his former co-star Amanda Bynes. Appearing on the latest episode of Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Bell spoke about Bynes, whom he co-starred with on The Amanda Show, which aired on Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2002. “I can only speak to my experience while I was working with Amanda and that was that she was, like you said, just an incredible talent,” the Drake & Josh star told Hirsch (per EW). “She was so funny, she was so, she was like a rocket ship. She got on set and she was just, the talent that just oozed from her effortlessly was awe-inspiring.” He went on to say he’d long admired Bynes before he even got his break in the business.

After the March 28 friends, family, and industry screening for Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” at Universal’s CityWalk AMC in IMAX, reactions were wild. Some said it was his most ambitious film since “Apocalypse Now;” another described it to Puck as “batshit crazy.” Made for $120 million and bankrolled entirely by Coppola through the sale of one of his vineyards, it incorporates new VFX techniques — ones, the filmmakers hope, will be seen on the biggest screens possible.
For that to happen, it will need a major theatrical deal and the filmmakers are now in talks with distributors and major studios. However, those entities have been particularly risk averse these days — and while Coppola is a legend, he hasn’t made a commercial success in three decades.
The film’s stars include Adam Driver, Aubrey Plaza, and Giancarlo Esposito; maybe, say, Paramount or Universal want to be back in the Coppola business.

Image created by “Shutterstock.AI” When Emile Hirsch starred as the title character in 2008’s Speed Racer, he felt confident that he’d be in a blockbuster movie. After all, with the Wachowskis directing, the beloved kids’ cartoon was going to get a state-of-the-art makeover that combined live action with brand-new CGI effects. So Hirsch was perplexed when the movie was generally panned by critics and shunned by audiences. Over the years, though, people have slowly come around to realizing that the movie was ahead of its time, and it’s now become a cult classic. A big part of that re-evaluation came from the innovative techniques that created Speed Racer’s vibrant, cartoonish look, though Hirsch once told us that was the most challenging part of making the movie in the first place. While Kristen Stewart has had her moments in indie movies as well as blockbusters, the actress revealed that she will “likely never” star in a Marvel film unless one specific person asked her.
The Love Lies Bleeding star said on a recent episode of the Not Skinny but Not Fat podcast that making a superhero movie “sounds like a fucking nightmare, actually.”
When host Amanda Hirsch told Stewart that she could see her playing Mary Jane “Mj” Watson from the Spider-Man comic, the actress clarified that she does “like big movies because I like people to watch them when I’m in them.”
But she added that the “system would have to change. You would have to put so much money and so much trust into one person…and it doesn’t happen. And so therefore what ends up happening is this algorithmic, weird experience where you can’t feel personal at all about it.

Kristen Stewart’s Bella is never ever getting back together with Edward Cullen.
On a recent episode of the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Stewart said she’s over Edward, but still has love for Bella.
“Let’s talk about Bella for a second,” podcast host Amanda Hirsch asked. “Do we not like her in retrospect?”
“Do we not like her?,” Stewart shot back. “Whoa. Hey, you better be careful. I don’t know if you can tell who you’re talking to right now.”
Hirsch laid out a case that Bella was too desperate to be with Edward.
“Yeah, but, he was trying to sort of control whether or not she made choices for herself,” Stewart countered. “I would have broken up with him immediately.”
She continued, “I mean, if I was like, ‘Hey, I want to try that,’ and he was like, ‘No, this is just for me,...

Although Kristen Stewart’s Twilight movies launched her Hollywood career, the actress mentioned being overwhelmed by a major flaw in the films. Appearing to promote her new movie Love Lies Bleeding on Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Stewart discussed her cult classic character Bella Swan.
Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan in a still from Twilight
Kristen Stewart had previously spent five movies playing the clumsy heroine Bella Swan, who was smitten with the sparkling vampire Edward Cullen, in the Twilight saga. But while the actress totally adores her character, she mentioned one significant flaw in the plot of the film, that she would have never agreed with, in the present date.
Kristen Stewart Addressed Her Twilight Character
From creating headlines following her Rolling Stones photoshoot to being busy with her Love Lies Bleeding press tours, Kristen Stewart took some time out for Amanda Hirsch’s Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast.

For so many reasons, George Lucas' 1977 "Star Wars" is a revolutionary film. Like any game-changer, some of the ways in which "Star Wars" re-shaped the cinematic landscape couldn't have been predicted; its ushering in a huge wave of big budget sci-fi/fantasy films, its one-two punch with "Jaws" establishing the summer blockbuster, its use of Joseph Campbell-inspired myth making shaping the way so many screenplays would be written for the next few decades, and so on.
However, some of the innovations created by "Star Wars" were very visible while it was being made, none more so than by Lucas himself. In addition to gathering together a cadre of visual-effects pioneers and wizards who could make his vision a reality on screen (a coterie later dubbed Industrial Light & Magic), Lucas faced the problem of making sure their work could be seen in its best light, literally. As Paul Hirsch, one of...

"Star Wars" was only the third feature film that George Lucas ever directed and it was easily more ambitious and expensive than "Thx 1138" and "American Graffiti" — the $11 million budget for "Star Wars" is equal to about $65 million today. Handling that kind of money, and spending it on a film whose absurdity invited dozens of ways to fail, strained Lucas' mental wellbeing.
It didn't help that the film suffered from a production that was anything but smooth, with constant effects problems and trailing behind schedule. Not all the actors (Harrison Ford included) had faith in Lucas' vision while they were shooting it. It's a matter of filmmaking legend now how "Star Wars" didn't come together until Marcia Lucas (one of the film's three credited editors and George's then-wife) cut it into shape in her editing bay; before that, Lucas was concerned he'd bitten off more than he could chew.

A trailer for Prey has just arrived online – and no, we’re not talking about that Predator movie that was just released a while back. This is a new movie called Prey, which Vertical will be giving a theatrical and VOD release on March 15th. It seems kind of soon to be sending another movie called Prey out into the world, but clearly Vertical disagrees. Ryan Phillippe (Shooter), Emile Hirsch (The Autopsy of Jane Doe), and Mena Suvari (American Beauty) star in this “nature run amok” survival thriller, and you can check out the trailer in the embed above. A poster for the film can be seen at the bottom of this article.

‘Succession’ Finale: What Will Happen? Betting Site Says Waystar Royco Sale Is Odds-Favorite Outcome
The four-season run of “Succession,” HBO’s highbrow family corporate drama, is coming to its conclusion — with the show giving viewers no clear tea leaves on what the future holds for Waystar Royco or the media conglomerate’s internecine clan.
Will one of the Roy progeny ultimately take the throne as the new CEO, fulfilling the prophecy implicit in the show’s title? Or will Waystar Royco wind up in the clutches of GoJo? Ahead of the series finale’s airing on Sunday, May 28 (on HBO and the newly relaunched Max), wagering site DraftKings drew up hypothetical odds for the likeliest outcomes.

40 years after the classic sitcom came to an end, 4 members of the cast of “Taxi” reunited for lunch. Luckily for fans of the show, the group — Christopher Lloyd, Judd Hirsh, Carol Kane and Tony Danza –later shared the moment on Twitter with a charming photo posted to Lloyd’s Twitter account.

For those who don’t remember, “Taxi” was a very well regarded sitcom that aired from 1978-1983, first on ABC before it was canceled after Season 4, then revived on NBC for its 5th and final season. The show followed a group of disillusioned misfits working for a Manhattan cab company, anchored by Hirsch’s Alex Reiger, who happens to be the only employee that doesn’t consider the job temporary.

“All I wanted to do this morning was get up and bake a pie,” says Judd Hirsch. Sadly, the 87-year-old actor’s plans to make his specialty — apple and blueberry — on a day off from ABC’s The Goldbergs have been interrupted by publicity duties for The Fabelmans. In Spielberg’s not-so-veiled memoir about his teenage years, Hirsch stands out as Uncle Boris, a distant relative who barges in, like the ghost of Christmas Past, while Sammy (Gabriel Labelle) and his family are mourning their late grandmother. His youthful enthusiasm makes it hard to believe that, if the gods smile on him, Hirsch will become the oldest ever Best Supporting Actor winner. He will certainly be among the most talkative…
Deadline: Where are you calling from? New York?
Judd Hirsch: I’m in Los Angeles.
Deadline: So you’re on the campaign trail?
Hirsch: More or less, I guess.

The final stretch of the 2023 Oscar season has started with voters casting their ballots for the winners of the 95th annual Academy Awards. All season long, Gold Derby has been interviewing dozens of nominees, including three contenders for Best Supporting Actor. Click on each actor’s name below to watch each of these 20-minute interviews.
Brendan Gleeson, “The Banshees of Inisherin”
In “The Banshees of Inisherin,” Gleeson plays jaded folk musician Colm, who abruptly ends his life-long friendship with his drinking buddy Pádraic (Colin Farrell), and a shocking standoff ensues. The actor admits that he feels sympathetic to his character: “I feel very defense towards him, because I really do feel he was in the pits of despair. I have a theory about it. I think it’s just because people have had enough cynicism and the world is in enough trouble where we need optimism to get out of it rather than cynicism.

With more than 50 years of credits, two Tony Awards, a pair of Emmys, a Golden Globe and now his second Oscar nomination for best supporting actor in Steven Spielberg’s The Fabelmans — more than 40 years since the last one, for 1980’s Ordinary People — Judd Hirsch is one of the most respected and hardest-working actors out there. But his reasoning for always working is pretty simple: “When I act, I’m alive — and when I’m not, I’m, uh, just me, who just hangs out.”
The length of Hirsch’s career is one thing, but he’s quick to remind that it took him a bit to find success. “I didn’t get on the boards until about 30,” he says of when he started getting roles on the stage, screen and TV. But his real breakout still took time. “I was 42 when I did Taxi,” he says of his time as Alex Reiger,...

The Oscar race for Best Supporting Actor is one of the most uncertain of the year. Paul Dano (“The Fabelmans“) led initially, but once the film premiered his co-star Judd Hirsch started to take some of his momentum, and an actor from a different film took over the lead in Expert journalists’ odds: Ke Huy Quan in “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” It would be only the second win in the category by an Asian actor (following Haing S. It’s a chicly austere and, at stray moments, provocative tabloid thriller in which Kate (Kate Bosworth) and Mikey (Emile Hirsch), as part of a mysterious contest, agree to spend 50 days living in a large bare white room. When they first walk in, they’re greeted by a Siri voice, British and female, who makes ritual pronouncements like “It is evening. Enjoy your stay in the Immaculate Room.” If they make it through all 50 days, they’ll get 5 million in prize money. It doesn’t sound all that hard, like two months of voluntary prison time minus the dirt and danger. And that’s the hook: Who wouldn’t do this for 5 million? But the fact that it sounds so do-able means the audience is asking from minute one: What’s the catch?
In a funny way, “The Immaculate Room” is a parable of boredom, which makes it a story for our time.

We always had a great rapport and really liked each other,” he said. “When Nick came around, we really responded to the idea of doing another film together. There’s a huge range of emotions including...

“Caroline’s Comedy Hour” is set to return to TV with fresh episodes under a licensing deal that comedy maven Caroline Hirsch has set with Scott Koondel’s Sox Entertainment.
Sox has licensed 100 episodes of the standup comedy showcase series that ran on A&e Network in the early 1990s. Those will be collected with new installments that Hirsch and Sox Entertainment will produce. Sox has also reached a deal with the New York Comedy Festival for access to select performances across that celebration of standup that is set to unfold its 18th edition Nov. 7-13.
Hirsch is marking the 40th anniversary this year of her influential comedy club on Broadway in the heart of the theater district. Hirsch also was the driving force behind the NY Comedy Festival. Notable names featured in the episodes to be sold include early appearances by Marc Maron, Denis Leary, Jon Stewart, Richard Belzer,...

A popular standup TV franchise is making a comeback. Scott Koondel’s Sox Entertainment has acquired global rights to Caroline’s Comedy Hour, which ran on A&e Network from 1989-96. The A&e series was hosted by Carol Leifer, Colin Quinn and Rich Jeni and featured acts appearing at Hirsch’s New York comedy club, including Marc Maron, Bill Hicks, Joy Behar, Denis Leary, Jon Stewart, Louis Ck, Richard Belzer, Judy Tenuta, Susie Essman, Mario Cantone, Ray Romano, Colin Quinn, Larry Miller, Jeff Foxworthy, Lewis Black, George Lopez, Al Franklin, Kevin James, Norm MacDonald,...

On its surface, The Immaculate Room is a contest. A game. If you and your romantic partner can spend fifty days in a stark white room with nothing but a bed, minimalist couch-like ottoman, and bathroom that only allows one contestant at a time, you go home with five million dollars. It seems easy because it is—if you’re only looking at the surface. Peel back the layers of its conceit, however, and you see potential for participants to go stir-crazy with nothing but their own wits to keep them busy. Add public knowledge that the person orchestrating everything is a professor infamous for pricy social experiments that have ended in tragedy; you might think twice about whether the reward truly outweighs the risk.
Kate (Kate Bosworth) never bothered looking that deep. She sees nothing but the opportunity presented as the product of a rough childhood marked by money problems.
