The Greatest Film Ever Made.
20 November 2001
True art transcends its medium. Like being connected to a higher spirit of life. God bless you Satyajit Ray. The reason I became a film maker. The essential element here is, I think, humility. Humility in the eyes of one's fellow man, in the eyes of a higher common spirit. Puts to shame the common ego on display by most directors. Ray puts his characters, their story, their humanity before all else. This is what the great art of film making is for, and what it can teach us all. A film of a pure and great love.
