An unambitious movie, that has the greatness of the humility. A study of characters.
Due to its topic, this is a movie condemned to fail, but that remains as a solid piece of work, soft, raw and sheer. Certainly, original. Most of the public will hate to see it,due to its pessimism.
Alberto Sordi gives a solid performance. To watch him in some night scenes is somewhat terrifying. And Persico isn't bad as the young man of the title. Never a young man without ambitions was better portrayed. Sara Franchetto is nice as an Italian mother.
