And they say that the great musical is dead
25 July 2001
Like many people, I became aware of this film after Parker and Stone hit it big with "South Park". I've never been a great fan of Troma films, but I had to see this.

For any discriminating fan of shock cinema, this is a classic. Based on the true story of the only man in American history to be convicted of cannibalism, "Cannibal" packages the story as a parody of classic musicals. Parker's ear for lampooning broadway numbers, now familiar to anyone who has seen "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut", is on early display here with such great, addictive songs as "Shpedoinkle", "When I Was On Top Of You", and "Hang the B***ard". The humor, as you would expect, is juvenile and absolutely hilarious.

If you have watched and enjoyed "Re-Animator", or anything by Peter Jackson, this is a must-see.
