Another Emperor's New Clothes film - it may have been a huge hit in America, where abortion is still a major moral and political issue, but very few people in Europe, even in the most conservative Catholic countries raise a huge stink about it any more.
More importantly as a film, I can honestly believe that the book was better, as the film comes out as an overlong, hollow exercise based on the most slender of plots. Tiresome from start to finish.
