I've only seen the shortened version of this film, called 'Enough To Do'. Judging by other user comments, I wasn't wrong in thinking 'there had to be more'. The story comes across as disjointed, concerning mostly Clyde Cook's attempts to hunt the ingredients for the workers' requested dinner.

Babe Hardy does a clever turn as the foreman of the bridge crew, and Clyde Cook is suffiently clever, though no real genius of silent comedy. The version I own is missing the gunpowder-in-the-flapjacks scene, and cuts out abruptly after Clyde discovers that the 'rabbit' he was about to cook is a skunk. The subplot with the Mad Hermit's daughter and the overhyped bridge engineer goes nowhere, in this cut.

Overall, some typical silent slapstick with one or two clever sequences, but I need to see the full version, if it still exists.
