Final Fantasy VIII (1999 Video Game)
10/10
The Greatest RPG Yet
28 March 2001
Love. Betrayal. Friendship. Action. This game has all the characteristics of a great movie, yet has been encapsulated in four Playstation CD's.

However, the fact that this game will take you well over 30 hours to complete is what separates this game from the movie genre. Over those 30+ hours, the months of gameplay, you'll become attached to every character.

Disregarding every other game in the series, with the exception of FFVII, FFVIII takes place in a futuristic setting, with just a dab of fantasy in it for good taste. It does the game well, as you command Squall Lionheart to complete his destiny - to save the world.

While the graphics, sound, and animation are great - the FMV's are the best I've seen to date - the true story in the game is the story. I won't point out more than the obvious - and stay away from the 'story' sections of fan sites too. Just go out and pick up the game. A must buy for any RPG fan, and a sure bet for any other player out there.
