I was absolutely shocked by how much I disliked this movie. Active, aggressive dislike, not just boredom or disappointment. It grated on my nerves from start to finish!
And I'm usually quite susceptible to tear-jerkers and to fantasy stuff.
The only character with any personality that I could see was the animatronic teddy bear. That's not a good sign.
All the "human" robots were at best annoying and at worst downright creepy. I was not convinced that ANYONE would choose sex with the robots over, say, a sheep... The whole robot prostitute thing just made me squirm. Not to mention it took this film out of the "family movie" category as far as I'm concerned.
And the robotic child character? If I couldn't have children, and was faced with the choice of adopting that "boy", I'd say no thanks and get a dachshund.
And then there was the plot, which started out questionable and then progressed to just pure boring for the last third of the film. I just wanted them all to be killed!
