Usually when MTV tries to be funny, it comes off as being perverted, cliched, and/or 3rd-gradish. Thankfully, 2gether is none of that. This movie is a very funny tale about a bunch of unlikely guys who try to fulfill their dreams of being part of a successful boy band.
In short, the movie is an absolute riot. It satirizes the boy bands, but avoids becoming too mean or sarcastic.
