Most men can be reduced, if need be, to the simple categories exemplified by Thomas "Wings" Church and Paul "My Daddy Was Baseball Commissioner" Giamatti. In the extreme forms on display here, both may be repellent to women -- off the screen -- but the two can understand each other.
