Love vs. Hate
12 April 2005
We have seen this story before. Someone hates cops and wants to kill them. They are rich and into games (x-games, video games and any other games they can invent themselves). But they decide to pick on the wrong cop, Jackie Chan. When his entire team is lured into a trap, tortured and killed by the cop hating gang he takes leave and attempts to drink himself into oblivion.

With the help of some caring people he rediscovers his dedication to duty, takes on the bad guys.

Hong Kong action style is world famous and enough has been said about it's style that I don't need to say much more here. A bigger budget, slick feel and great acting still add up to a silly plot between stunning action scenes.

The action is intense, dramatically filmed and it is this that keeps the movie going. The plot itself is intense if you can suspend disbelief and very heavy. But being a Hong Kong movie there is always a chance for some slapstick humour on the way through.

Certainly it is something different from Jackie Chan (other than the compulsory falling off a tall building at the end of a movie thing that is many of his movies) which will appeal instantly to action junkies as well as people like myself you love good action movies (and hate bad ones).
