The music is great. The comedy is a laugh a frame. It's pretty gory. What else is there? Some say it's too slow, but there are so many subtleties you just have to pay attention! Trey Parker is perfect as the hapless (and practically brainless) Packer, sometimes you forget he's playing him so tongue in cheek. Matt Stone plays the best nerd in years and Swan's face makes me crack up every time I see it. Parker's fascination with Mormons is obvious but downplayed, and the line "The lord works in mysterious ways" is used perfectly. One of the best musical comedies in ages. This movie should appeal to any fan of humor, gore, and music. Shpadoinkel should be an everyday term, and probably would be if this weren't a Troma film. The best movie from the Troma camp in my opinion, making the most sense and not being silly for the sake of it (though it's like that too.) You will be humming the tunes for days guaranteed. It's somewhat historically accurate as well. Watch it and laugh.
