To get to a woman....love her kids.
18 October 2005
Warning: Spoilers
I admit to being very surprised. This movie is a hoot and holler. A situational comedy with scattered rude humor. Nick Persons(Ice Cube)runs a sports collectibles shop with his bud Marty(Jay Mohr)and has just purchased a new Lincoln Navigator. Put a Satchel Paige bobble-head doll on the dash and he is good to go. The man with the bling likes pretty things...like Suzanne Kingston(Nia Long), a divorced mother of two(Aleisha Allen and Philip Bolden). The only thing keeping this romance from starting is her kids. Nick volunteers to take the kids to Vancouver as a favor to get in Suzanne's good graces. Let the road trip from hell begin...and...are we there yet? Tracy Morgan is excellent as the voice of the Satchel Paige bobble-head. Also making brief appearances are Henry Simmons and Nichelle Nichols. As if a brand new Navigator and a steady job aren't enough to land a beautiful woman; its not even the 'bling', but how well does he get along with the kids. Funny and charming and worthwhile.
