One of Wong Jing's self featuring action movie
23 January 2006
Wong Jing's talent and style is evident in this action/comedy. He plays the role of Fatty, a likable character who has many talents including gambling, and scheming plots to turn the table on anyone he chooses. He has a rather simple minded friend Kung (Danny Lee) who's a police inspector, who's also a friend of an under cover cop Ma Qun (Anthony Wong). Ma Qun was on an assignment to entrap Panther Wong (Fong Lung) who's a corrupt drug dealer. Ma succeeds in sending Wong to prison, but Wong swears revenge, and proceeds to send two assassins (Agnes Aurelio) and (Kwok Shing Hong). Aurelio shoots Ma's daughter while Kwok rapes and kills his pregnant wife, and makes him dumb and blind by making Ma drink nitric acid and goring his eyes. Kung, and Fatty swears vengeance for the sake of Ma and goes on a scheme to entrap Wong this time with his fellow triad gang members.

Wong Jing's talent shows in this movie as plot is slick, actors well chosen, girls pretty, cinematography superb, and he's also a good actor. Wong Jing can write pretty gory rape and murder scene (as in his "Naked Killer"), and he can also write comedy. In Hong Kong cinema's tradition of throwing in everything that can be entertaining, this movie has both. As a second generation writer, he could have been famous just on his writing talent alone, but he shows talent in other areas as well. This movie is one of them, and is one of the better entertainment to come from Hong Kong and Wong Jing.
