Irregular adaptation of a great play
10 February 2006
"Un adulterio decente" is one of the most original plays by Enrique Jardiel Poncela. The plot twists several times and it is full of beautiful paradoxes.

The film has several problems: the main one, they try to make the film look modern by using many 1960s artifacts. That makes the film look dated. It is much better to see the play, but that is seldom possible.

Among the actors, the great Fernando Fernán Gómez plays Cumberri, the main character sustaining the play. Mora de Aragón, a reputed playboy of noble origin, plays the husband, and Carmen Sevilla, little past her heyday, plays the role of a wife whose character seems not to be too far from hers.
