'Memoirs of a Geisha' follows the life of a young girl who becomes a geisha and who falls in love and tries to pursue her love and her dream of becoming a geisha. The cinematography and the performances are done well with the cinematography standing out as the best thing about the film. I felt that the story was a little bit weak; it started out well, but I lost interest in it, and it seemed to lose direction and conflict, particularly after the change due to the war. The film is worth a watch, particularly for its excellent cinematography and detail and the cultural significance. Overall, good film and believable in its cultural representation. One of its kind.
