Review of Dennis P.

Dennis P. (2007)
8/10
Enjoyable dutch movie
5 March 2007
I recently watched this movie at a Sneak preview and found it quite entertaining as far as dutch movies go. This movie is based on the novel "Aan de Haal" from Gijsbert Termaat and Tjerk de Vries, which is in turn based on a true event: Dennis P. became Holland's biggest diamond thief when he walked away with almost 10 million euros worth of diamonds of an international diamond trader.

The movie tells the story about that heist in an enjoyable way, much like the movie "Vet Hard" did. If you like that movie, this one will certainly be worth your money. I found the movie to be very entertaining to watch due to its humor (loads of sarcasm by "Edo Brunner", who plays Dennis P.) and touching story. As the movie progressed, I went on to like Dennis and his motives for stealing the diamonds, this sympathy for his actions lasted all the way through the end of this touching movie.
