Love over gold
27 February 2008
Sophie (Lisa Martinek) has it easy: the pauper *is* the prince. But she doesn't know that. Faced with a choice between love and gold, she chooses love. But her Aiden turns out to be richer than even Mr. Big. That's the plot. It's not much. Just as her character Sophie deserves better than the hotel heir schmuck (Misel Maticevic), lovely Lisa deserves better parts than this. The movie depends almost entirely on her acting cute and looking pretty, which is simply not enough to hold anyone's attention for 90 minutes, not even mine. And you know I adore Lisa Martinek. I especially liked the clinging red top and the pale pink cocktail dress with the black sandals. Cool off-duty hairdo too. Looks easy, but probably involves two hours of blow-drying. I recommend to watch this on mute and check your voice mails in the meantime, or listen to some music.
