Another Lost Cause?
1 March 2008
Warning: Spoilers
I can remember the first episode of this series or serial (I'm not now sure which) and it had a very promising start.

A group of teenage students had taken possession of an old property to use as 'digs'. In the course of exploring it, they discovered a large round table that was bolted to the floor of a circular room. The roof of this room was a cupola. Above the table were a group of what resembled bell-ropes, but when they began heaving on them - as students are apt to do - they succeeded in opening some part of the roof, whereupon a view of the streets below was projected onto the table. One of their number went on to explain that a camera-obscura must have been built into the cupola, making this phenomenon possible. Also, by taking one of the bell-ropes and walking round the table, the entire neighbourhood swirled past in panorama. At one point, they stopped, and discovered a very suspicious-looking man in a trench-coat evidently staring up at the premises. Yanking on another rope enabled them to zoom-in on this individual and get a clear view of him.

This much of the first program I recollect quite clearly, but the rest is a bit of a fog. I suspect that it didn't live up to expectations. However, I would very much like to know more. How about it, you lot?

I've rated it as a comparatively positive 7-star based upon its first fascinating episode. Maybe it was a turkey after that.

The program came with its very own theme song 'Quick Before They Catch Us (Everybody Run)'. It was a minor hit of the day and is still available on i-tunes.
