small town, big fun
27 June 2008
I ordered this film on DVD along with the remake of The Hitcher. The Hitcher is a million dollar Hollywood studio film with hot TV stars, Smalltown Folk is a very low budget English straight to DVD film made on video. Guess which one is better?! The look of this film takes a bit of getting used to but once u are sucked into the story u really get into the nightmare world the director has created (cheap but clever computer fx). The villain characters are also very memorable, I especially liked the part of Pike who is basically a human sniffer dog and Dobbie who is a crazy train driver that can go from very funny to very scary. The film is flawed by the budget here and there but a super dooper first effort - recommended!
