"Driven by Events" Error - Again and Again!
29 December 2008
"Weeds" began quite promising, had an unusual, subversive feel and good comedic moments - in the first two seasons. Then they started to stuff the show with events, and even more events, and even more... And forgot on the way to tell the audience about the characters who experience that, how they feel, how the events change them, how they grow and how their relationships are affected by that.

Like in so many newer TV series, the writers lack emotional and developmental consistency. The characters have stopped growing, they live through so many incidents and yet don't gain one iota of wisdom, even the sympathetic ones do the same stupid things the others do. Where's the sense in this, other than spending 45 to 60 minutes of your life with an episode that leaves you unsatisfied and has no relevance to what you think and feel?
