They all laughed at Ed Wood and now he's one of the most celebrated trash filmmakers of all time! I think people are leaving their sense of humor behind when they're watching The Cell 2 and I think I know why - because all of these reviewers are auditioning to be on Reelz Channel or something.
True this movie has some silly scenes where the violence is obviously phony (rubber ax anyone) and where the acting is just unbelievable. I think Tessie Santiago had the blood drained out of her not just in that scene but before she began shooting this film. But to a fan of the Sci Fi network and cult movies that are so bad they're good, you must must must check this out. And after it's over you'll have to shamefully admit to yourself, that was fun. A good storyline with the Cusp killer killing and reviving his victims, what a freaked out premise, and some over the top acting by Frank Whalley combined with some "what movie am I in" acting by some of the other supporting actors.
I'm sorry but I love this stuff. On second thought, I'm not sorry. "The Godfather" it ain't. Okay, it's not even "Friday the !3th Jason Takes Manhattan" but it's just trying to be an old fashioned B-movie and it succeeds at that, though maybe a B- movie is more appropriate.
