Based on a long running radio show this is a mixed bag musical variety show movie about various story lines criss crossing through the broadcast of the radio show Breakfast in Hollywood . As a representation of the show I'm guessing its not bad but as an entertainment its uneven. Certainly the music, especially the performances of Nat King Cole and his Trio, is excellent, but the romance and some of the other plot lines don't really work. Technically the film seems out of sorts with some of the musical numbers and some of the dialog seeming to be out of sync. As a whole I liked the film I didn't love it. Certainly some bits are excellent and make the film worth seeing, but some bits just miss and you'll wish they were better.
