Warning: Spoilers
The Punisher is a comic book character that kills criminals who can't be punished legally. This movie is focused on the action more than story, which means lots of shooting.

Frank Castle, The Punisher, has always been a tormented character, but what his fans enjoy is seeing him turn that torment into bloody vengeance against the slimiest criminals alive. In this movie, there is a little bit of tedium as Frank considers retiring after accidentally killing an innocent cop. Rather than adding drama to the story, the scenes of Frank feeling bad about himself just feel like wasted time as we wait to get to the next shootout.

He doesn't have to think about it very long, though, because a criminal that he disfigured goes after the family of the cop Frank killed. So the killer, Jigaw, is after revenge on the Punisher. The Punisher is motivated by a sense of duty to protect the wife and daughter of the man he accidentally killed.

This movie looks better than most. The sound effects especially add a lot. The violence is graphic, but I would say more cartoonish than realistic.

In the comics, The Punisher had some really good stories written about him. The story in this movie is pretty clichéd, but it was still enjoyable because of the pacing and the action. I ended up liking Jigsaw as a villain. The actors who played the Rosetti brothers made their psycho characters fun to watch.

I'll give it a six. Stylistically, it is above average. If this director were to do this kind of work on a really good script, it could be something special.
